Nice quite bush block. Lots of friendly quolls, bandicoots, wallabies and birds sharing our camp site. We where there on a busy weekend (Anzac day long weekend) so it was nice to be at our own private camp-site (as the all the popular attractions on the island where packed!) We had no problems setting up our 22ft caravan on the levelled caravan site provided. Yes it is a wee bit tight getting in and out but we had no issues with this. Its only a short walk to Apollo Bay from the camp, which has a nice little beach area, seating and camp fire BBQ which we also had to ourselves for the week. Lindas communication was excellent. I highly recommend for anyone who preferes there own space (vs a busy caravan park)

Quoll hideaway was fantastic. A highlight of our trip as the quolls came out to play! It was so great sitting and watching them. We were also visited by a potoroo, which was very cute. The camp kitchen works really well and provides a great spot to sit and wait for the animals to emerge. It was easy to find and close to the beach. We also had some fabulous oysters which we sat and enjoyed on the camp kitchen. Thanks so much Linda hopefully we will be back!

Beautiful location and abundant with wildlife. Linda’s comms we’re quick and super helpful! I set up a hammock and watched the wallabies bounce by. A little pottaroo joins us for a bit, bloody adorable! And then we saw some quolls. One main one having a little sticky at the camp. Amazing to see though very shy and skittish. So glad we got to see wild quolls. Also, the ocean/lake beach is super close and also incredibly stunning. Highly recommend!

4 nights at Bruny coastal camping & Funky Barn

Great spot to stay. Comfy little barn with everything I needed, but not overdone with things I'd never use. Perfect alternative to traditional motel or tourist park. Feels like staying at a mate's place. Located conveniently close to facilities of Adventure Bay, but feels tucked away and has a great view of & short walk to the ocean. The hostess, Bri, was very easy to deal with and very helpful. I will most probably be back with my dog next time. Outside, the property is spacious and well fenced. I would highly recommend Funky Barn.

3 nights at Huckaway Stay

The location is good, only 18 k's from St Helens, so was a good base for day trips. The camp spot itself was very private and quiet, which suits us. The creek was good for a dip on a hot day. Camp fires are also allowed, so it is a good spot to do some old fashioned camping, and big enough for large groups. We'll be back.

I loved my stay in the Funky barn. The perfect spot for some R&R. Set in a beautiful slice of Bruny coast with birdlife and views. Loved the unspoilt beach and coastal walks and looking at the night sky from the loft bed. Bri is very hospitable and helpful with lots to share on the local area. I'm sure I will stay again. Nice spot close to ferry on North Bruny. Very quiet as you are the only guests. We saw a long nosed potaroo and adult spotted quoll one night. We also saw 3 baby quolls mutilple times being very playful and inquisitive. Was nice to be able to have a fire.

Linda's property is a peaceful haven, perfect for those who appreciate being in nature and peace and quiet. The description of the property was accurate, it was easy to find, and Linda was most friendly, accommodating and prompt with communication. If you own a hammock, there are clip points around two trees between which to hang it. We will bring ours next time! Lots of wildlife, beautiful eucalypt woodland, a lovely beach, and a coastal walking track. We are most grateful to Linda for sharing her property with us and hope to stay again sometime soon.

The Woodlander and Back Paddock Campsites are Private Campsites located @ thelittlegardenfarm. Private campsites (approx 400m away from each other) all to yourselves within a short drive to many Bruny Island attractions. The Little Garden Farm is our new 100-acre forest and pasture farm that we will begin improving over the next 18 months. The property is located at the base of Bruny's Isthmus, enjoying cool sea breezes in summer and mild temperatures in winter. The Woodlander Campsite is set in our bottom forest paddock, next to a dam, with a seasonal winter creek. It is private and peaceful, with no other campers, houses, or nearby neighbours. We welcome travellers, with up to two vehicles, who are here to enjoy the peace and quiet (no parties please). The campsite has its own separate access, site toilet, solid picnic table and chairs, firepit and and is approximately 600 meters from where we live. Next to 70 acres of forest the location is great for birdlife, with many of Tassie's endemics around, and other wildlife abundant after dark. We are always happy to help with birding or wildlife tips! Based approx 5 minutes from Alonnah and 10 minutes from Adventure Bay, the "Woodlander" is central to so much of what Bruny Island has to offer.

The Mount Managa Forest Reserve is very close by, with access to forestry tracks for bikes and hikes. Also very close to some great beaches where you can enjoy water activities. There is a boat ramp on the other side of bay approximately 5kms away. There are shops and cafes just down the road at Adventure Bay. 1.5 hours drive from Hobart. "Quoll Hideaway - Bruny Island Bush & Beach Camping" is our slice of paradise and we are looking forward to sharing it with you. New! Aug 2024: the site now has a flat patch for campers visiting 🏕️ The plot is nearly 3 acres and is earmarked conservation land and surrounded by neighbouring conservation land. This is your perfect lunawuni/Bruny Island escape! It is tucked away from the no-through gravel road and surrounded by Australian bush and wildlife with filtered water views of D'Entrecasteaux Channel and 100 m from the beach. It's a tranquil heaven yet so close to all the famous Bruny sites and must dos: Bruny oysters, beer and cheese (why not bring some to the campsite to enjoy?) The Neck, Truganini Lookout + penguins! Cape Queen Elizabeth Track and other hiking trails Adventure Bay and *white wallabies (*we give you a map on where to go to find the white wallabies!!) South Bruny, and the Light house When you book our site, you have it all to yourself! Except for sharing it with the wildlife, of course. As the name suggests, there is a family of quolls living on the land and you are very likely to see them! Once dusk arrives and the stars start lighting up the sky, the quolls usually come out to say hi before they start their night activities. Joining the quolls, are the potoroos who are not afraid to come up close and sniff your feet in curiosity. If you are yet to see a quoll and a potoroo in the wild, this is your campsite! Other wildlife includes the endangered Forty Spotted Pardalote and critically endangered Swift Parrots. To access the beach, simply walk through the property to the end of the plot and follow the path. There is an echidna living near the road so keep an eye out for her. The campsite is a perfect spot to see wildlife, and birds, and for photography. On the campsite is a large outdoor kitchen with two sinks. Wait... is there a bathtub? Yes! The bathtub is great for a bush shower (byo solar shower) as the taps are not connected. You must bring your own toilet. Rainwater is available too, we have two tanks! Campfires are allowed but you cannot collect firewood on the property. Please bring your own firewood or add it at the time of booking and we will provide you with firewood for your stay. The land is a conservation area and quolls are known to live in up to 5 nests. They live under the logs and it is an important habitat for the species. We love the quolls and know you will too so please do not disturb their homes. The site is excellent for stargazing once nightfall arrives. Simply BYO a hammock (we have prepared the setup!) and lie down to watch the stars with a glass of red or a hot chocolate. We recommend campervans for the site and it's only suited to self-contained campers leaving no trace behind. Available on-site and free to use are also a director's chair and a table. The kitchen is also equipped with a double sink, dish rack, two buckets, BBQ tools, cutlery, and a dustpan. There is also a cleaning kit with biodegradable spray, hand sanitizer, and soap. There are also a set of caravan/van leveling ramps and chocks for you to freely use. The site is perfect for those wishing to find privacy amongst an otherwise busy Island. Huckaway Stay

Huckaway is a little camping oasis just off the Tasman Highway. Green pastures are bordered by forestry land to the East and a river to the South. Go for a bush walk through the forest, a swim or fish in the river, you might even find a trout! This property is the perfect location if you are here to enjoy either the Derby trails or the St Helens trails with some of the shuttles going straight past the front gate! St Helens is a 15-minute drive away and The Bay of Fires is 30 mins. The wide camping area has plenty of open flat space to park any type of caravan or van. Park down near the river, or tuck yourself in beside the forest, up to you. All campers need to be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, and we kindly request you take all your waste with you. There is a dump station in St Helens. Well-behaved pets are welcome also! Please be mindful that dogs do not chase the neighbours cows and please pick up after them.

Situated on a small coastal farm on 8 acres above the cliffs of Adventure Bay, at the southern end of the neck beach, and in a central location for exploring Bruny Island. Camping area and the barn are in a gently sloping pasture paddock with flat areas for camping. Beautiful walks from the property, with just a five minute walk down to the spectacular sea cave, and a 10-15 minute walk through the light bush and along the picturesque cliff top coastline to the neck beach, where you can swim with the waves, fish off the rocks, or go for an endless walk along the beach. 5 minutes drive to adventure bay's beautiful beaches which are safe for swimming and dog friendly, as well as the grocery store, restaurant, bowls club (for Friday and Saturday night meals). If you love birds, there will be plenty of sounds to listen to from the trees. You might be lucky to see the wedge tail eagle hovering above. Resident banjo frogs live in the large pond in the corner of the paddock. The main house where we live part time is on the property, but you still have your own space and reasonable privacy. 2 options available: + Camp site for just one group at a time in a relatively flat area with lovely ocean views. + Or upgrade to an affordable lodging in a rustic but comfortable converted horse barn, double bed in the loft with clean linen provided, living and kitchen area. Magnificent ocean views from the lounge or when lying in bed next to the window upstairs. Portable camping toilet is in the outhouse. Dogs are subject to pre-approval, and must be kept under control if our horses or dogs are on the property. Horses are usually only here during the winter months. The property is fully fenced so there is plenty of space for your dog to run around and a large pond. And please don’t expect Airbnb standards if you chose to stay in the barn. Its is a fun affordable upgrade/escape from camping without the glamour and high fees of glamping.

Our property runs beef and cultivates crops alongside the Ringarooma river, North East Tasmania. We often host mountain bike riders here to access the world-class trails at Derby. Nearby are many marked mountain trails, and numerous falls. Skiing is 1hr away in the winter. Our camping site is alongside cattle grazing paddocks and the Ringarooma river, and we offer one site only, to one group at a time, so it's yours exclusively. A toilet is available nearby. A gravel track descends to the river with a short steep bank preceding the flats. When the track reaches the river the camping site is just through the gate on the right. One gate and two wire gates may require opening on the way and these gates need to be closed again to prevent cattle from wandering. Electrical fencing is in use and alive - please be careful! Wood for your campfire is available to purchase, $15. I can supply fresh sourdough loaves $6 also fresh eggs $3perhalf doz, and fresh cows milk most of the year $5/2L. Fly fish for trout and cook over the coals for a treat. Welcome to bring your dog along, but please keep them under control.

The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

The toilet is a private eco-throne with a view to Bare Rock. It is composting and only a short walk from the cabin. We provide you with wood for the casuarina canopied fire-bath, and indoor wood stove, an esky, bed linen, towels, tea-towels, basic kitchenware, cooking basics and toilet paper. Please note this is rustic accommodation, the cabin doesn’t have 240v power only 12v LED lighting. There is no wifi available but there is strong mobile phone service. Fingal is fondly known by the locals as "the Valley", and hosts several coffee and food vans for travellers passing through. Fingal is located just 15 mins to local township St Marys, where you'll find IGA Supermarkets and the popular pub/restaurant St Marys Hotel. Also the gold-prospecting rivers of Mathinna and Mangana are both short drives away.
