Prossers Ridge Richmond is 52 acres of rural paradise within close proximity to the heritage town of Richmond. The topography slopes up from the road to a large flat top and is dotted with weathered gum trees. There are sweeping views in all directions, including a view of the sunrise to the east and spectacular sunset views toward Hobart's Kunanyi (Mount Wellington).
The property has good access for all vehicles and there are plenty of flat sites for camping at the top of the property. Some minor leveling may be required in parts for RVs and Caravans. Plenty of space though to find your own peaceful, private patch. And you're welcome to bring your dog along too!
Please note: some front wheel drive motorhomes have encountered difficulty getting up the driveway. If you have rented a Fiat Motorhome you wont be able to get to the campground
We have one toilet available for shared use, self contained campers are encouraged to use their own facilities where possible.
Situated within the Coal Valley Wine Region and just 30 minutes from Hobart, the property is the perfect location for travelers looking to sample glorious local food and wine, before returning to their picturesque base camp to recharge.

Welcome to our private rural escape, where you can disconnect, slow down, and enjoy the beauty of the Australian countryside.
Our property offers peaceful camping surrounded by natural landscapes, spring-fed dams, wildlife, horses, and open space. It's the perfect place to relax, stargaze, explore, and enjoy a true off-grid experience.
Horse owners are welcome to bring their own horses for an additional fee. Please reach out so we can discuss your requirements. With an abundance of local trails and quiet country roads nearby, the area is ideal for exploring on horseback and enjoying the landscape at a slower pace.
Guests need to be fully self-sufficient, as there are no shower facilities, rubbish bins, or Wi-Fi available. Water is sourced from a spring-fed dam and is exceptionally clear and clean, although it is not tested or monitored. Guests are welcome to treat the water as they choose.
The property is accessible by 2WD in normal conditions; however, significant rainfall may make some areas suitable for 4WD access only. Guests should be prepared for changing conditions and rural terrain.
Pets are welcome, provided they are kept under control. Please be aware that other dogs, horses, and foals live on the property.
Enjoy a refreshing swim in one of the dams, sit around a cosy campfire, and experience the peace and quiet of country camping. Open fires are not permitted, but fire pits and firewood are available upon request, subject to local fire conditions.
This is a Leave No Trace property, so guests are asked to take all rubbish with them and leave their campsite as they found it.

The Little Garden Farm is a small farm with a private and exclusive Campsite - The Woodlander. The Little Garden Farm is a 100-acre forest and pasture farm that we began improving in 2023. The property is located at the base of Bruny's Isthmus, enjoying cool sea breezes in summer and mild temperatures in winter.
The Woodlander Campsite is set in our bottom forest paddock, next to a dam, with a seasonal winter creek. It is private and peaceful, with no other campers, houses, or nearby neighbours. We welcome travellers, with up to two vehicles, who are here to enjoy the peace and quiet (no parties please).
The campsite has its own separate access, site toilet, solid picnic table and chairs, firepit and and is approximately 600 meters from where we live. Next to 70 acres of forest the location is great for birdlife, with many of Tassie's endemics around, and other wildlife abundant after dark. We are always happy to help with birding or wildlife tips!
Based approx 5 minutes from Alonnah and 10 minutes from Adventure Bay, the "Woodlander" is central to so much of what Bruny Island has to offer.

If it's rest and relaxation you're needing, we have you covered with stunning views from the cabin and fire-bath, reading materials and paints.
The cabin itself has a cosy wood stove heater, and is furnished with a double bed with pillows and a queen-sized doona. There is an undercover outdoor small kitchen with a 2 burner gas stovetop, basic kitchenware (with hand-held coffee grinder and aeropress), sink, solar lighting and rechargeable camping lanterns.
The toilet is a private eco-throne with a view to Bare Rock. It is composting and only a short walk from the cabin.
We provide you with wood for the indoor wood stove, an esky, bed linen, towels, tea-towels, basic kitchenware, cooking basics and toilet paper.
The kitchen sink and bath water comes from a spring fed dam, perfect for washing your dishes and bathing in. Please bring your own fresh drinking water.
Please note this is rustic accommodation, the cabin doesn’t have 240v, only a solar powered charging port with USB-A/C inputs to recharge the camping lanterns and your devices. You may wish to bring head torches for night time reading and card games!
There is no wifi available but there is strong mobile phone service.
Fingal is fondly known by the locals as "the Valley", and hosts several coffee and food vans for travellers passing through. Fingal is located just 15 mins to local township St Marys, where you'll find IGA Supermarkets and the popular pub/restaurant St Marys Hotel. Also the gold-prospecting rivers of Mathinna and Mangana are both short drives away.

Our group enjoyed camping at Inglis River Caravan and Camping sites. This was our second stay and love that it is quiet with a large camping area and nice designated firepits. We originally chose this site as we can bring our dogs with us for the weekend as well. Kids loved the play area and exploring the fairy garden!

Valleys Nest made an impact on me and my partner Alana … the hidden oasis is clearly a bi-product and a testament to the essence and philosophy of its creators. There’s an obvious harmony with nature at the forefront of its build, a mission to rewild ourselves once again and to deepen our connection with the land we tread on everyday. Valleys nest was everything we hoped it would be, a fresh reminder of our role in the cosmos, a chance to stare up at the stars and remind yourself where you sit in that hierarchy. After 10 days of sleeping in our car travelling the full coast of Tasmania, this was the perfect reward for my brave partner who held her head high in many cold dark nights in the wilderness…

The host provided clear information before we arrived, making everything easy to find and ensuring a smooth check-in. I loved camping here! Ann is super lovely and the place has such a charm to it- lots of wildlife around and a nice flat spot to set up my tent for a while. She was incredibly welcoming to me and my dog and the on site toilet (and the entire property) has character and is quaint, functional and cute. I'll be coming back here for sure, nice convenient location also! 🌸

Such a lovely area, right next to the river with flat grassy camping areas and fire pits. Closest town with shops Ouse is not too far with a drive through Tassie countryside, what more could you ask for!

Google Maps sent us the completely wrong way, quick call to Natalie had us back on track and a Friendly welcome on arrival.
Shame that the wind was howling and cold so no fishing on the dam. Would definitely recommend and would visit again

Dragon River Campground is an amazing place to unwind and recharge. The location is absolutely stunning, offering plenty of privacy and a real sense of escape from everyday life.
Graham was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.
For anyone looking for some genuine rest and relaxation, this is the perfect getaway. I highly recommend booking the sauna and plunge experience as well — it’s a fantastic addition and something truly special that takes your stay to the next level.
We’ll definitely be back!

This site was so lovely. There was a bit of rain in the few days before we arrived and Rachel had given us the heads up that the site was a bit muddy in places but that didn’t impact our stay. Site was clean and tidy, plenty of room to set up, dogs had a great time :)

Launceston and North
