Spent 3 days over Easter. Great, well organised and kept spot. You can tell that Robert spent time to consider access, wet weather, privacy etc. Lovely paddock style location with green hills in the background. Very conveniently located. Eumundi, Cooroy, Coolum, Kenilworth etc all within easy travel distances. Would definitely recommend. Robert is a great host.

Weekend Trip to Macallon Farm Stay

We loved camping here! It was our first time camping with our toddler. We camp in a tent, we set up by "The Lagoon", a lovely area next to the Alpacas where we watch them swimming to cool off. We stayed for two nights slept well the first but some geese came on the second night and honked all night so we didn't get as much sleep but that can't be helped! All in all we will be back in the future.

Michelle’s place was lovely. The animals are free to wander around the camp. The portaloos were clean and well maintained throughout the stay. Shower had hot water and was nice and clean. We went at Easter and was still plenty of space and it didn’t feel too crowded. There were loads of activities for the kids and the animal feeding was a highlight for them. Would recommend.

Michelle has set up some beautiful spots to camp on her property. Camp one and two were close to portaloo's. Michelle and her children are friendly and accommodating and put in so much to ensure the stay is smooth. Our kids loved the animal tours. Clean amenities- especially love the outdoor shower! (Sound of the trains passing by is faint)

Loved this camp ground, we pitched our tents under a tree next to the running creek. Really well maintained. The owner Jason dropped by to see how we were going and was happy to answer some questions about the bush walking to secret cave and the waterfalls. The fire pit area was perfect and Jason had placed the fire wood ready for us before we arrived. I was expecting to be closely packed in with other campers but when Jason told us that the spot we booked is just for us, I was shocked because it was a huge space along the creek with no one in sight. I highly recommend this spot.

Second stay at Hopevale in Windmill Hollow and it doesn't disappoint. Jason and family are great hosts, facilities are clean and well kept. One of the most peaceful places I have camped in 4 decades of doing so.

Big Fig campsite was a fantastic experience! The camp spot itself was great—clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. Tucked away behind the scrub, it felt wonderfully secluded, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. The expansive campsite is accessed via a private driveway, which added to the sense of exclusivity and privacy. Its location right next to the creek was a highlight, providing a serene backdrop. The site is flat, making it ideal for setting up tents comfortably. We pitched our extra-large 8mx4m tent at the opposite end of the big fig and fire pit to avoid smoke drifting in, which worked perfectly and had the bonus of being grassier. Despite the tent’s size, it fit comfortably within the camp spot, leaving plenty of room for our two boys to run around and play. The cozy fire pit near the fig tree added a charming touch, perfect for evening gatherings. It’s just a short 50m walk to the composting toilet and hot shower, ensuring comfort without sacrificing the natural vibe. On the afternoon of setup, an unexpected downpour hit, catching us off guard. However, Jason, the host, was incredibly caring and went out of his way to check on us, even offering alternative shelter for the night. As we’d already pitched the tent and were nearly done setting up, we politely declined, but his thoughtfulness left a lasting impression. Highly recommend Big Fig for its beautiful setting and exceptional hospitality!

3 nights at Macallon Farm Stay

Macallon farmstay blew our expectations! Not only was the camping area easily accessible, clear, flat and close to amenities but a running creek flowed through the property to listen to day and night. We were welcomed so warmly and authentically onto their farm and Michelle ensured we had everything we needed. Her tribe of boys welcomed my 2 young boys into the 'boy club' and showed them the ropes of how to be a 'farm boy'. From having access to inclusive, unlimited use of farm provided kayaks to explore their creek, to ample firewood supplied for our camp-fire memories, to up close and intimate feeding experiences- especially with the alpaccas (my favourite) and not to mention riding the very cool farm train created by Michelle to get us around. A thrill for all! A favourite of mine was the outdoor shower built in rustic farm style. Where else can you have an outdoor hot shower looking at the star-filled sky above? We created such beautiful memories that we will cherish in our hearts. Thank you for your beautiful hospitality from our family to yours. We hope to be back again soon and everyone I speak with has been hearing about this beautiful place and planning their visit too.

Kenilworth Free Range Farm

The sites are level pastured camping areas with lovely trees providing good shade alongside the river. We have tried to preserve the natural ecosystem on the river bank so it is heavily wooded and largely untouched. The total area for camping is approximately 500 metres with only four sites spaced far apart to ensure plenty of space and privacy. Each site has very easy access to the river, via a couple of tracks. You can enjoy swimming and kayaking in the river. Fishing is welcome when permitted but must be catch and release only. There is plenty of wildlife to see, especially for bird watchers: kingfishers, parrots and birds of prey as well as platypus, air breathing lungfish and Mary River turtles. Access is 4WD or AWD only. In severe weather the Mary River can flood. Be prepared to leave in extreme weather. Campers must be self sufficient with their own camping toilet and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Pets are welcome.

Buranga Farm is a small organic family-run farm on 60 acres in the Noosa hinterland only ten minutes from Peregian Beach. The property is largely flat with a hill on the Eastern side and a ridgeline at the very back of the property. Site one and two are located on the hillside looking west to Mount Cooroy and are best suited for couples. Off-road camper trailers are suitable for some campsites (max weight 1500kg and max length 5m restrictions apply). Caravans are not permitted due to the steep terrain. There’s even a small lagoon now awaiting. Check out the short hiking trails on our property (there are hike options suitable to your preferred difficulty). Bring your machete for an even greater hiking experience! You can relax by or in the spring fed dam, explore seasonal Kobble Creek, feed the chickens or goats, spot the abundant bird life, or sit patiently and a deer or fox may appear at dusk. Enjoy the evenings sitting around the campfire as you gaze at the stars. All sites have sufficient spacing from other sites to ensure acceptable privacy. Namaste Farm

Fresh farm eggs can be bought if available at the time. This farm have been used as a working farm for around 40 years. This area is where the government planned a dam so generally we have water in the creeks. The house was the original Amamoor Head Ranger, Forestry division, home which was cut in two and relocated from town up to the top of our hill. From here during the bush fire season you can see fires from Widgee, Kilcoy or the Sunshine Coast. We run on solar and rain water for everything in the house and creek or dam water for our orchards and gardens. We run a variety of animals and several small orchards as well. Our creek runs into another near this causeway which leads to lots of water in a short time where it sounds like you are living on a beach. Always check with us beforehand if there has been heavy rain and there are several creeks in this area which leads to a rapid build up of water in a short time over many of the causeways out here. When there is water around, the creek will have lots of little fish and a large variety of frogs, some very weird looking ones to study. While there are many animals on the farm, there are also wild animals who use it as their home and refuge so your pets must be kept safe with you at night. Swimming pool on the farm can be used if requested through booking.

Go for a leisurely walk down the road to the HUB on the Ridge, a local cafe and open for music and pizzas on Saturday nights. Really popular for motor bike riders so after an awesome day of riding, pit stop at the Hub Cafe, come set up camp and have a few beers around the fire. If you wish to explore the area without your dogs (or horses), I also offer animal holiday care. There is access to power and rain water in the front off road camps.
