The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve. We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking. Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome. The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in. The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type. Campfires are permitted and there are small mobile fire pits provided so wherever you set up camp you can have your campfire right beside you. Stirling’s Crossing is situated in the Mary Valley on a lush 150 acre Equestrian property, which is bordered by the Yabba Creek and the Imbil State Forest. Our spacious level sites are surrounded by lush paddocks and beautiful scenery. Large drive-thru sites perfect for buses and big rigs, there’s plenty of room to relax and enjoy the peaceful farm setting. Guests can also bring their horses to Stirlings Crossing as Imbil State forest is perfect for horse back trail riding. Horse yards can be set up on request. Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. Bev and Ian were perfect hosts. They have thought of absolutely everything - right down to the hamper of luxuries and great quality bath products. Everything is provided - just bring food and drinks. For those who want to camp with luxury this is fantastic. Baths under the stars are a highlight and the tent is superb. Ian's lanscaping and waterfalls are fantastic and Bev's touches are apparent throughout. Well worth the money for the solitude. five stars.

Absolutely incredible campsite! I wish we had been able to stay for longer, but so glad that we managed to get a couple of nights. Campsite is spotless, pitches are really large and the top 2 in particular have great views over the hills and down to the river. We had the site all to ourselves for the two nights we were there so it was really peaceful. Fire pit was great, and so were the kayaks for a peaceful paddle down the river after a day at the markets. Thank you so much!

Such a lovely peaceful place to stay for a couple of nights. Loved the outdoor bath to cool down in with a cold beer in the afternoon! The creek was a bit high and muddy due to the rain when we first got there so didn’t swim but loved how the hosts had set up chairs and swing seats for those hot summer days of swimming.

Booked a one night stay here for my girlfriend and I’s 1 year anniversary. I got to say it was absolutely perfect. The owner Bev was incredibly kind, I had contacted her prior to the stay to set up an anniversary surprise and she nailed it. Had the most beautiful flowers on the bed along with rose petals set up in a heart, chocolates, face masks, candles for the baths, and that’s not even half of it. Not to mention the campsite was beautiful had plenty privacy, would 1000% recommend to stay here and we will definitely be returning again.

Our family had such a wonderful weekend away at Anita’s beautiful property. It was so peaceful, we explored the area on foot, along the creek and also in our 4WD up to a lookout high on the ridge. The horses visited us at our cabin several times, which was a highlight. The cabin was so private we felt like we had the property to ourselves. Definitely need a 4WD! And the drive to Anita’s property is so beautiful too.

Me and my partner stayed here and we have to say it was the most beautiful & tranquil stay we have had so far in Australia. Bev & Ian were so lovely, helpful and attentive. The photos really do not do it justice. From the little welcome hamper, to the outside bathtubs looking at the stary sky it was absolutely incredible. Bev & Ian provided everything you could need to make this truly the most beautiful little stay. We would definitely recommend booking & will hopefully return!!

We loved camping at Yabba Creek Farm. Kaylea and Dean were great hosts and kept the farm was very well maintained. It was peaceful, plenty of space. Grab a kayak so you can see a platypus like we did. The wife loved the petting zoo, especially the turkey. Our doggie also had the best time. Highly recommended Yabba Creek Farm to anyone and we’ll definitely be returning. Thanks for a great stay.

The property is a beautiful spot with some gorgeous views and wildlife. The swimming hole was a favourite as it was so much fun! The waterfall walk was very refreshing, it will look amazing when it is in flow. The doggies had the best time with plenty of space to run around. My group of 6 stayed at Big Fig which was a lovely spot with plenty of room. The bathroom was also rather pleasant with plenty of hot water. We would definitely come and stay again!
