Welcome to 'Bares Hideaway', a 43 acre property nestled away from prying eyes in a secluded valley along the Liverpool Ranges in Grandchester. We are a short 1 hr drive from Brisbane and Toowoomba surrounded by acres of bushland. We are a 10 minute drive from Rosewood and Laidley where you will find cafes, supermarkets, fuel and a variety of other things to enjoy. Our lovely campground will accommodate swags, tents, campers, caravans and motorhomes. We provide an extensive camping ground which ensures that you will have a large amount of space to set up comfortably. Flushing toilets and hot showers are provided. We offer you the choice of a standard enclosed private shower or the fun of open air showers. We also have ice for sale. We are happy for you to come and camp on your own or book the entire place if you have an event, large groups are welcome. There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions with marquees available if required. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed. Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water. During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out. Things to do and see: The Grandchester hotel is a short 10min walk away and offers cold drinks, great meals and friendly country hospitality. Spicers Hidden Vale is approximately 6km away and perfect for bike riders. Rosewood train museum showcases steam locomotives and Grandchester scale model rail rides run once a month. The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude. We are currently updating and upgrading the whole park, so some old things are not available anymore, this includes O/N cabins, animals, and kayaks/canoe hire. we still have a cafe full of food, drinks, and essentials, a non-heated pool and firewood is back for sale again. The lake is full and available for all hobbies including swimming, fishing, and boating of both powered and paddle craft. During your stay you must bring your own tents, RV, motorhome, or caravan, your own 15amp (not 10amp) power lead. you may also bring any Bikes/E-bikes or Scooters/E-scooters but must not be powered by internal combustion engines. Christmas Creek Cedar Cabin is a Tiny Home in the Scenic Rim. Positioned on a hill above Christmas Creek to take in the views, were you can watch the sun rise over Little Widgee Mountain and the sun set over the mountains to the west. This fully contained cabin is approximately 30 square metres and features a small veranda out the front facing Little Widgee Mountain and Buchanans Fort. Sit back and relax on the bench seat or table and chairs. A larger veranda out the back faces Christmas Creek and the mountains to the west. Relax on the deck chairs and read a book, or sit at the bar and enjoy a drink while watching the wildlife. There’s a table with chairs to enjoy your breakfast or dinner outside.The loft bedroom has a queen bed. There’s reverse cycle air conditioning to keep you comfortable. The kitchen is self contained with a small microwave/oven, a 60 cm ceramic cooktop, a medium size fridge/freezer, a toaster and kettle. The lounge room has a couch, 40 cm TV with DVD player, small table and chairs. There’s no free to air TV channels available. BYO DVD or there’s a small selection available. No Wi- Fi There’s a small firepit and chairs in the yard to enjoy the sun setting over the mountains and stars at night. The cabin is a few minutes drive to the creek where you can go swimming. Relax on the sun lounge listening to the birds sing and Christmas Creek flowing by, or enjoy a Scenic drive or bushwalk in the local area. Christmas Creek Café is just down the road. Phone reception is available at the cabin if you’re with Telstra. The property is 2WD accessible, but I recommend 4WD in wet weather No pets please.

We offer plenty of private, secure off-street parking with easy vehicle access directly to the camping sites. For added security, the entry gate is equipped with a keypad code, which will be provided to you upon arrival. We feature a Bali-hut-themed setting surrounded by lush rose and subtropical gardens, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The property includes a spacious jetty overlooking a serene private lake with a majestic 3-metre-high fountain. Additional amenities include eco-friendly toilets, a shower room, and a handwashing station — all with hot and cold running water — as well as a cosy outdoor communal fire pit with picnic tables. We also offer convenient power outlets so you can charge laptops, phones, and other portable devices during your time with us. All of our camping sites are named after the roses in our gardens. Our property is located in the heart of Rathdowney, gateway to the picturesque Scenic Rim. There is a two-week maximum stay available at the Rathdowney Memorial Grounds Caravan Park. You’ll need to provide us with your name, address, mobile, email and vehicle registration. It helps us to keep everyone safe and our registration process. We loved our three night stay at Dead Tree Alley. Guy the host and his children were so helpful and it was great to chat while the geese, chickens, Guinea fowl, pigs, roosters, alpacas, goats, cows etc were being fed. We will be back one day soon. We can absolutely recommend this Hipcamp for anyone wanting to relax and reconnect with nature. Only one hour west of the Gold Coast!! 10 out of 10

Had the most beautiful time here. Stayed at the Creekside camp - wallabies hopping round of an afternoon, ducks and ducklings by the creek, which is beautiful and clear, perfect for a swim and to rest by on the grass. Amenities were super clean; the grounds were kept to a very high standard. Only a 15min drive to the Lower Portals walk too! Would definitely stay here again.
