Welcome to 'Bares Hideaway', a 43 acre property nestled away from prying eyes in a secluded valley along the Liverpool Ranges in Grandchester. We are a short 1 hr drive from Brisbane and Toowoomba surrounded by acres of bushland.
We are a 10 minute drive from Rosewood and Laidley where you will find cafes, supermarkets, fuel and a variety of other things to enjoy.
Our lovely campground will accommodate swags, tents, campers, caravans and motorhomes. We provide an extensive camping ground which ensures that you will have a large amount of space to set up comfortably. Flushing toilets and hot showers are provided. We offer you the choice of a standard enclosed private shower or the fun of open air showers. We also have ice for sale.
We are happy for you to come and camp on your own or book the entire place if you have an event, large groups are welcome. There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions with marquees available if required.
Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property.
Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed.
Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water.
During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out.

The Grandchester hotel is a short 10min walk away and offers cold drinks, great meals and friendly country hospitality.
Spicers Hidden Vale is approximately 6km away and perfect for bike riders.
Rosewood train museum showcases steam locomotives and Grandchester scale model rail rides run once a month.

We are a very short 900m bicycle ride from the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BRVT) which is one of the must-do cycle treks in the southern hemisphere. If you or your crew need a place to stay while riding the trail then this is perfect for you.

Bare’s Hideaway was a lovely farm style camping experience! The paddocks had great views and were well kept, with flushing toilets and hot showers close by. Paul and Tracy were amazing hosts, making sure we had everything we needed, even taking us to see the new born piglets in their farm.

This gem is way bigger and better than the photos show! Such a quiet, peaceful and natural outlook with clean and charismatic facilities built out of recycled materials. The just were lovely and have though out everything, each day Paul and Tracy would drive past to check if we needed anything and Paul was nice enough to take us to feed the pigs, piglets, sheep and goats. We will be back for sure for such an authentic farm stay.

What a lovely spot at Bares Hideaway! Given the small number of campers they accept, there was plenty of space to spread out. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of toilets and showers. Wherever you chose to set up your camp, you were never far from amenities.
During our stay there was a large group there for a celebration but they were far enough away not to bother us.
We will look forward to coming back again!

Our first visit to Bares Hideaway and won't be our last! Paul is a top bloke and very easy to chat to. There are a few different camp site options with something for everyone. We stayed at the Shell camp and were interested to see the goats, sheep and pigs. There are a few old buildings to have a look at and the amenities were excellent! We will be back! Thanks guys

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Bares Hideaway. The location is beautiful. The facilities are basic, but very clean and functional. The people who greeted us were friendly, polite and helpful. For the price it was better than I expected, and I would happily stay again. The only downside for me was that none of the farm animals came to visit when I was there. I am happy to reccommend this place to others.

Lots of great sites in a natural gully, lots of flat open terrain in the Windmill Paddock by the (dry) creek. Hot showers and lovely clean flush toilets. Suits families with kids for that off grid bush adventure, one bar 5G so you’re not entirely out of comms. Highly recommended!

Nice little private campsite, with clean toilets, hot and cold showers (private and outdoor). Adequate number of rubbish bins and fire bins available. Love seeing the sheep and goats roam around us, eating grass. I was pleasantly surprised by the cool breeze that wafts through every now and then, through the gully. The hosts are friendly, and appear well organised and responsive. Would recommend for a nice,quiet, romantic weekend away.

Quiet location, easy to access level camp. Well maintained. Shame the creek was a bit overgrown in this hot summer season.
We could hear a few cars and the campers at the other site occassionally but only because the area was so quiet. Mark was very helpful and communicated well.

We had the best time at the paddock. We were luckily enough to have the whole area to ourselves.
The flushing toilets and hot showers were super clean and lots of extra toilet paper. Bins in all the camping areas and separated into recycling and waste.
Tracey and Paul were amazing with the 4 kids allowing them to help feed the animals and Tracey allowed all the kids to have a ride of the quad bike with her when she came around to clean the toilets.
We had a bad storm roll through and Tracey and Paul came around and checked to make sure we knew as internet was patchy and then came out as soon as it was over to check all the campers were ok.
We will definitely be back. It would be lovely in winter.

Best hosts ever!
Can't recommend Bares Hideaway enough.
Paul and Tracey are absolutely amazing in every way.
They made us feel so welcome, entertained the kids with hands on experiences with the animals., warned us of approaching storms and checked on us all after the storms passed..
They kept the very well maintained toilets( with lights) and hot showers so clean and tidy. The added bonus of bins was a plus also.
The grounds are beautiful and well kept and any spot you choose will be amazing.
Thank you, Paul and Tracey for having us all and especially how you went out of your way to allow the kids to experience a bit of life on a farm up close. Its the highlight of their holidays and not only them, but us adults will never forget also.
Can't wait to get back there very soon!

We took our camper trailer with young kids for a few nights and we all had the best time! Paul & Tracy are fantastic hosts and they both went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time. The kids loved feeding the animals and meeting their beautiful dog - Dalby! We had a storm come through and Paul & Tracy came by before and after to make sure everything was okay. An added bonus was the clean toilets, warm showers and bins! Beautiful property and we will 100% be back soon.
