Kids can bring bikes, must be supervised at all times, no screaming or running. Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉 Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. The Avondale Pub is 1km away with great meals and drinks, and the Bucca Pub is 10 minutes away with weekend entertainment. Jo's road house is just up the road and has all the essentials food wise with great pizzas, and fuel. Next to Jo's is an RACQ centre and mechanics. Kitchenette with the essentials. Excellent outdoor area with BBQ, sink and bench space. Comfortable seating. Nice fire pit. Sarah and Ronnie were amazing hosts and we will be back again.

We loved our stay. The beach was so close and beautiful. Listening to the waves crash in. It is amazing to see the turtle tracks during the day along the beach after our night at the turtle centre and it was only a short walk to the centre. A very peaceful and restful stay. Unfortunately, not all areas are vape/smoke free, this was the only let down for us.

It was easy to park our caravan and hook up to power on a lush grassy site. The view was glimpses of the the Kolan river surrounded by a variety of trees and natural bush. The amenities were very private separate rooms. The toilets were well done and very clean. The showers worked great! We were able to kayak from an area below the campsites. We had the place to ourselves and it was so quiet and relaxing.

1 night at NRMA Woodgate Beach Holiday Park

There are basically no reviews for the motorhome sites that I could see on here so I was skeptical, but this was the best motorhome site we have been to so far on the east coast. Really friendly people, REALLY clean amenities and way less bugs than everywhere else we’ve been. It’s about 5 steps out of the campsite to the beach which is really quiet and beautiful. They have wifi too which works pretty well. Would reccomend!

My favourite place to camp is at Gumtree Dam Highlands, the place, the animals, the peace & the people. Your hosts, Chrissy & Duane go above & beyond to look after their animals & guests. You'll feel safe & relaxed, it's a perfect place for solo campers, couples, families & groups. Highlights are definitely feeding and brushing the Highland Cows, and watching all the other farm animals. Not to forget beautiful sunrises & sunsets too. If you want to explore the property there's lots to see walking or bike riding around, and/or explore the local area - 10 minute drive to Childers, and 25 minutes to Woodgate Beach.
