We have a beautiful hobby farm on 2 and a half acres. Camping is at the front of the property where you will find vegie gardens and fruit trees. There is also a fire pit (plenty of firewood available), a trampoline and a games shed with toilet, shower and kitchenette facilities. Yes we live on the property and the campsite is in the front yard, however we do not infringe on your space at your campsite or the amenities area - these are yours and yours only whilst camping here. We do not double book our sites, it is strictly 1 group at a time.
Pets are welcome for a small fee of $5 per pet per booking. If you are bringing a fur baby or 2 with you please add the Pet Fee into your booking via the EXTRAS tab.
You can purchase free range eggs in half dozen and full dozen when available. Please ask on check-in.
200m to boat ramp with river perfect for water skiing, jet skiing, tubing and freshwater fishing (licence required as this is a stocked impoundment). On opposite side of river is Sandy Hook Boat Club where major water skiing and power boat races are held throughout the year.
Located between Bundaberg and Gin Gin. Bundaberg has attractions such as the Bundy Rum Distillery, Ginger Beer Factory, a free zoo, Mon Repos Turtle Centre, lower Great Barrier Reef cruises to Lady Musgrave Island for snorkelling, great beaches some with 4WD access. Gin Gin is on the main highway to head north or south. Easy access from here to National Parks for walks and 4WDing.
Being a hobby farm we have livestock in a paddock in the backyard. If you would like to join us for feeding in the afternoons please ask on arrival. Buxton Bush Retreat is a privately owned parcel of 17 acres located 7 kilometers (6 minute drive) from the quaint seaside village of Buxton.
The front 5 acres is 'home' to Kerrie and Brian, their two puppies (Jazz and Jaxi) and two cats (Bangers and Mash).
The remainder of the property (about 12 acres) comprises of flat, well grassed areas and natural bushland.
There are eight(8) well maintained, large, flat camping areas and each has its own fire pit. An initial supply of firewood will be provided.
There is no water or power throughout these camping areas, hence they are only suitable for "fully self contained" motor homes and caravans.
Apart from humans, dogs and cats, the property is inhabited by kangaroos and a variety of birdlife.
The small township of Buxton is home to a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. There is one general store which sells most consumables, including alcohol. We had a lovely stay at Rob-Lee-Rose Farm with another family while visiting for the turtle nesting tour.
The kids had an amazing time. They loved the man cave, especially the tabletop football and darts, and feeding the cow and sheep was a big highlight.
Having the small kitchen and bathroom close to the campsite was very handy, and there’s also a little shop nearby which made things easy.
Steven and Sandra were friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home.
A great spot for families and we’d happily stay again.

Steven and Sandra are super friendly people. My daughter could feed the sheep and play with the dogs.

Great little spot, nice flat ground for pitching a tent, quiet and peaceful. The hosts were great, very accommodating and absolute life savers when we realised our car had a flat battery. The man cave with a fully functional kitchenette and the bathroom were very handy to have especially with a baby in a heatwave/storm. We would recommend to anyone staying in the area :)

Peaceful spot with secluded sites, a friendly host who introduced us to the gorgeous cows and the stars at night were amazing! Town is only 9 minutes away with a fantastic park for kids and good meals at the local pub (who also serve great coffee at the front cafe in the morning). A great stop over for us with two little kids!

Great hosts. Nice quiet spot. They have more facilities than I have ever had at a Hipcamp (fire pit with seats and wood, toilet, shower, kitchenette, TV, games etc etc).
The chooks were friendly 😀
