Working cattle farm and Speckle Park Stud. With great views and secluded camp-sites. We are 20 min from Toowoomba and Crows Nest, Less than 10min to Highfields and Cabarlah. Wild Honey Cafe is 5 min up the road and do great coffee and food open from 06:30am -02:30pm Tuesday - Sunday. Right next to the cafe is The Clock and Bull Brewhouse/restaurant which is due to open soon. The Historic Farmers Arms is just up the road if you want a cold drink or a great counter meal with a country atmosphere. There are some great cafes in Highfields and Monty Brewing Company is definitely worth a visit. There are Markets in Cabarlah on the last Sunday of every month and there is the Toowoomba Farmers Markets every Saturday plus lots of other local markets. If there is some fishermen/women in your group Campfire Farms is only 17min from Cooby Dam and 45min from Cressbrook Dam. Both of our dams are also stocked with Yellow Belly, Silver Perch and there is an abundance of Yabbies. We are more than happy to show people around and let you experience the farm with us. **Our camping sites vary in size and proximity to others. If you want to come with a group with several vehicles etc, please send a message rather than book separate sites. We will help find a site which suits your needs. We now have several secluded bush camp sites as alternatives to our more 'civilised' sites. They have no facilities apart from the site so you must be entirely self-sufficient. But all are single sites well away from others. We invite you to come and share our property, soak up the tranquility of our quiet valley and enjoy feeling at home in nature. And your dog is welcome too (under control please because we value our wildlife, and no more than 2 dogs per couple or family group)! The land is nearly 200 Ha in the western foothills of the Dividing Range, with the usually-flowing North Branch Creek being a green haven supporting lots of wildlife. It also includes the secluded back valley of Hann Creek to which you can walk, cycle or ride, with many tracks of lengths up to 3 km. The land is mostly open forest land with some cleared areas from its dairy-farming history, and many gullies with thicker vegetation. The property is mostly now dedicated to nature conservation and the recovery of its more natural state. It is a Nature Refuge under Qld legislation with special emphasis on recognising that the land is Githabul country, honouring local Githabul people now, sharing it with them and others, plus preserving species of plants and animals with known relevance to their former lifestyles. The name Nyalar Mirungan-ah means 'Old Women's Tears' in Githabul, and recognises that they cry because the land was taken from them and because it has not been looked after well by European people. We are now trying to care for it well, and to allow the original ecosystems to return, by lighter grazing, soil recovery and using traditional Aboriginal burning knowledge. And we welcome dogs as long as they don't disturb our wildlife. Shandy, our own dog, is very welcoming to guests and might drop in to your camp for a visit.

Tarome offers some of the best views of the Main Range and Cunninghams Gap, all of which you can enjoy from the site. The sunsets here are spectacular. The Warrill Creek runs through the property, adjacent to the campsite and is home to an abundance of wildlife and vegetation all of which you are welcome to explore. The creek runs seasonally and makes a beautiful swimming area, but is just as enjoyable when dry allowing for a great path to explore the area. The site is only a short drive off the main road so the property offers an ideal spot for short stopovers, or alternatively use it as a base to explore the rest of the Scenic Rim. The abundance of walking, hiking, fishing or biking opportunities in the area are endless, or if you are more into relaxing into some food tasting and wineries then you’ve hit the jackpot. Just an hour and a half from Brisbane CBD! In lieu of camping with nature there are no amenities and limited service with some providers, but if you are chasing something in particular please let us know. We are happy to help. I have 8 sites at the moment each one is in a open bushland setting with lovely views, no site is within 100 meters of another and each one has a different view with lots of privacy, and all Dog and Kid friendly, shallow water, and deep water for swimming or kayaking , creeks, animals to feed and heaps of room to run and play. Adult friendly, huge sites for big groups and plenty of space, great swimming and lots of things to here and in the surrounding areas. Some sites are more suited to Caravans as the access is better and some are better suited to campers / 4WD but all can be accessed with a regular car. We have NO road frontage so sites are private, quiet and safe and only 3ks off the New England Highway. All campers MUST bring their own Chemical toilet and shower facilities. A small rest room and shower is available in case of emergency only I run a working farm raising Sheep and Lambs, Chickens, Ducks, Horses, Donkeys, Vegies, Preserves and Jams. Farm produce is available on request and availability, eg Free range eggs , farm raised Lamb, locally sourced Bacon for the BBQ , and seasonal vegetables, jams and chutneys. Thanks to the Beautiful rain we have had recently, our large dam is full, providing a wonderful spot for swimming, paddling or just splashing about, the Dam has long sloping access so is great for families and dogs, PLEASE NOTE The Google Maps photo is way out of date, our Dam is full. For those who may be into Waterskiing or Fishing Leslie Dam is a 10 min drive away and offers fishing and water sports then come back to your quiet camp away from the crowds. We are 20 min South of Warwick, We are only 30 min from the Stanthorpe Wineries, Breweries fresh fruit and Vege, Cheese factory to name a few things to do. A little further along you will find Girraween National Park renowned for amazing walks. Warwick Hosts the Biggest and Best Campdraft and Rodeo on the last full week of October (Covid permitting) as well as the quirky Jumpers and Jazz festival in July. Steam Train Journeys , half or full days, We have an amazing motor sport venue which holds meet every weekend, cars bikes, vintage, minis, Porsche's, you name it they race it every weekend. As well as many Equestrian Events, you can spend the day out exploring and then you can come back to your beautiful campsite, that is if you have not decided to stay relaxing and swimming for the day in the quiet watching the sheep and horses pass bye to then watch the Sunset and wildlife then look at the amazing night sky. In many cases you will be able to choose where you wish to park. Not all sites are level, but you are able to site your camp/ van as you wish. There are no cement pads. There is access to toilets and hot showers. You may have to walk some distance to the amenities but the solitude, the quiet, safety and stars make all worthwhile. There is a dedicated firepit and firewood is supplied. We can supply no water other than sufficient to cook dinner. You are welcome to use some of the vegetables and herbs but not to strip the vegetable garden! If in doubt - ask. We have great coffee and Devonshire teas but we are not a cafe. However there is a great little lavender shop where you can buy our own lavender essential oil, or a cake of soap or a Baggallini Handbag. We are dog friendly! We welcome well behaved dogs. We are 20 km from Stanthorpe. You may see wildlife or cattle through the fence and an occasional vehicle going down the road. We have a sealed road all the way to our boundary and then drive through the lavender. If you visit in late November through to early December you will enjoy our lavender flowering, but the plants look very pretty all year around in neat rows. We are a commercial farm so there is the need to work to the rhythm of the lavender.

Located just over 30 minutes from Toowoomba you will find the Pittsworth Camping Area, enjoy a country experience only a stones throw from the city. Drive into Pittsworth to look at the monument of the Australian World Record Sprinter from the early 1900s, or look at the huge artwork/memorial of Moore’s Trailers. There is a rock fire pit available for campers to relax around in the evenings and enjoy the sunsets. Campers will need to be self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and take their waste with them on departure. Pets are welcome, there is a friendly dog on the property so please ensure your pet is friendly before letting them off leash.

The camp site is in a clearing in the Eucalyptus woodland on the most rugged part of a working cattle property. The walking tracks range from easy to challenging, with spectacular views from the higher points. An abundance of wildlife live here. Birds range from Kookaburras to Bower Birds. You are sure to see wallabies and possibly hear a koala if camping in summer. Please be aware that spring is usually the driest time of the year and the most likely time for fire bans to be in place. A gas bbq with a burner will be provided for cooking and boiling water if a fire ban is in place. 30 minutes drive from Toowoomba.

Caravans and Motorhomes can stay in one of three spots overlooking the natural spring giving the area it's name, Helidon Spa. Power is available at each of the fixed sites. Important to Note:- *There is no dump point on-site. *Pets only welcome for casual/short-term stays. The area, once a bustling tourist attraction has since been converted into a small sustainable village that several locals call home. Picnic tables and amenities are less than 200m away from all sites. All grey water is recycled and treated on site and all fresh water is drawn from the natural spring. Street lights are solar powered and as you read this the on site electricity is being converted to solar.

Drive in and pick your spot for a night or two. Sites are set close to the natural waterway under the gum trees. You can throw a yabby pot in our dam to catch a few for dinner- except when the dam is dry. Windy Acres Farm is close enough to Toowoomba to explore the region or perfect for a stop over along the Gore Highway. Not suitable in wet weather. Guests must be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Close to local shops to restock or grab some takeaway. Campfires are welcome but must be kept contained and be supervised at all times. BYO firewood. Pets are welcome but must be kept restrained whilst on the property.
