Bring your tent, car, caravan or motor home...... there is plenty of room! The Meadow is located in a sleepy little rural area at the end of a road, so there is no through traffic and quite private. There is an abundance of wild life wandering through from the rainforest to the neighboring cattle property including a huge range of birds, numerous wallaby's, and the occasional cassowary. I do have a resident cow on the property. Stewie is extremely friendly and will come to the fence for a pat and will love you even more if you feed him a slice of bread or a carrot. He has no spacial awareness though, so please don’t enter his paddock….. it is pretty scary having a 600kg “puppy” with very big horns bounding toward you wanting to play! The water is tank/bore which is fine for drinking and I am happy for you to fill your water tanks during your stay but I do ask that you use it sparingly…….. no washing of vehicles or vans please 🙏 With only 1 site, you will absolutely not be crowded in. There are no toilet or shower facilities available so you will need to be fully self contained. This is the perfect base to explore all that the Daintree, Port Douglas and Atherton Tablelands areas have on offer. Julatten Hotel is a great spot for a cold drink and a lovely meal, with live music on the weekends. 9 Mile Store is 2km from your site and has fuel, some groceries items and takeaway food if you don’t feel like cooking. A beautiful rainforest creek runs the entire property length with multiple billabongs and walking trails that campers can enjoy. Enjoy the dawn and dusk bird chorus, platypus watching in the creek, or other nature-based activities. No hunting or fishing of any kind as we are a nature refuge. No domestic pets. Arrival is strictly between 12noon and 6pm daily. No arrivals after dark due to wildlife on our roads. Wetherby Road is a dirt road but is fine for 2WD vehicles. On the property, you’ll find edible gardens to graze from, a seasonal creek at the boundary, and lush protected rainforest waiting to be explored. If you’re seeking a quiet stay away from the crowds, this is the place for you. Amenities include an outdoor hot water bath and shower set amongst the rainforest, a composting toilet, and a rustic outdoor camp kitchen. Our main house is 50m away but the camp-site has full privacy from the house. Please note: we’re unable to accommodate pets to protect our native wildlife. Our resident curlews just had babies, again ;)

The two very friendly donkeys love to be with children. The property is in the middle of the Daintree Rain Forest with all its beauty. There are endless walks, guided tours adventure activities for all ages and fitness. Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Pull in with your RV beautiful peaceful spot surrounded by fruit trees and rain forest. Go for a swim in one of the many local swimming holes. Great adventures to be had exploring the amazing Daintree National Park from within, Beautiful Cow Cw Bay Beach is just 3 km away. The children will love the donkeys and chickens. A paradise for nature lovers and those who like space to themselves (rare these days!). The property boasts close to 200 confirmed bird species, 24 amphibians and 19 native snake species. A beautiful rainforest creek runs the entire property length with multiple billabongs and walking trails that campers can enjoy. Our management priority is maintaining maximum species biodiversity for native plants and animals. We request campers are entirely self-sufficient and respect that we are a nature refuge, not a party camp. Leave no trace campers only. We only take one booking at a time so campers (and us!) have peace and quiet during your stay. Fire wood is cut and ready for use in the designated fire pits. We recommend coming off highway at Julatten State Primary School (Mcleans Bridge rd then left onto Wetherby Road) to stay on bitumen longer. Optional extras: onsite bird watching/nature/property tour with us or fresh farm eggs to add to your stay.
