The CREB Track is nearby running through the heart of the Daintree Rainforest to Roaring Meg Falls and on to Wujal Wujal. Only 4x4 vehicles without trailers on this adventurous track. The CREB Track is currently open. Also there is the Bloomfield Track running from Wujal Wujal to Cape Tribulation.
A large open marquee area is provided shelter and shade between all sites. Table and chairs are provided.
We welcome your pets but they will have to be on leash.

Our farm also offers unique elevated views of the local farming area with a backdrop of The Great Dividing Range, the Coral Sea and Port Douglas. There is also an impressive variety of butterflies and bird life to enjoy.
Hosts are happy to show campers around our market garden that we start cultivating after the wet season and usually continue until December - weather dependant.
Guests will have access to a portable fire place during their stay as well as a BBQ grill and hotplate. Firewood is available for purchase.
We have electricity available from the vacant cottage at $30/night. Must be booked through Extras.
Our 150acre property has spectacular mountain views, as well as views to Port Douglas and the Coral Sea. There are small creeks on the property that attract birdlife and have a variety of freshwater fish and turtles in them. Nearby there are several larger creeks for cooling off, and properties with horses and cattle. We are a 15min drive to Mossman, the closest town, and 45mins south to Port Douglas or north to the Daintree township. You can take a shortcut to the road to Daintree via the WWII Japanese Miallo Bombing Memorial.

Yindilli Camping Ground is set amongst some of the most beautiful open eucalypt forests and rainforests of north Queensland and is located on the CREB Track, a popular 4WD tourist route. Nearby is the iconic Roaring Meg Falls.
The track is not suitable for towing caravans. We are 38klms from Daintree Village on the CREB Track (also known as Upper Daintree Rd) and it will take about 2.5hrs to drive as the road is unsealed, steep in sections and narrow. Be aware of weather conditions before travelling on this road as minimal rainfall can make the track slippery.
An alternative route to Yindilli Camping ground is from the northern end of the track from Bloomfield via the China Camp Rd or the Zig Zag Track - both meet up with the CREB Track. We are 27klms from Bloomfield or 1 hour to drive, this section is graded regularly and easy to traverse in the dry season.The campsites have access to a freshwater creek for swimming and relaxing. The birdlife is abundant, including the occasional glimpse of a Cassowary. Camp sites are on 2.5ha of lush green lawns, lots of shade and within metres of a fresh water creek for swimming and relaxing.
Facilities include: septic toilets, showers, dry firewood (on request) and spacious sites
Children and pet friendly.
Guests are advised to only light fires in designated areas and these must be fully extinguished before departure.

Bring your tent, car, caravan or motor home...... there is plenty of room! The Meadow is located in a sleepy little rural area at the end of a road, so there is no through traffic and quite private.
There is an abundance of wild life wandering through from the rainforest to the neighboring cattle property including a huge range of birds, numerous wallaby's, and the occasional cassowary.
I do have a couple of resident cows on the property. Stewie is extremely friendly and will come to the fence for a pat and will love you even more if you feed him a slice of bread or a carrot. He has no spacial awareness though, so please don’t enter his paddock….. it is pretty scary having a 600kg “puppy” with very big horns bounding toward you wanting to play!
The water is tank/bore which is fine for drinking and I am happy for you to fill your water tanks during your stay but I do ask that you use it sparingly…….. no washing of vehicles or vans please 🙏
With only 1 site, you will absolutely not be crowded in. There are no toilet or shower facilities available so you will need to be fully self contained.
This is the perfect base to explore all that the Daintree, Port Douglas and Atherton Tablelands areas have on offer.
Julatten Hotel is a great spot for a cold drink and a lovely meal, with live music on the weekends. 9 Mile Store is 2km from your site and has fuel, some groceries items and takeaway food if you don’t feel like cooking. Mossman is only 18km away for most other supplies and services.

Loved our stay at the Cow Shed! Belinda was lovely, the property was beautiful and the donkeys, Mary and Jemima, were just gorgeous. We spent many hours patting them, particularly Mary who was the sweetest soul. There’s a tree in the corner with rope swings for the kids. The property is just up the road from beautiful Cow Bay and it’s a fantastic base to explore north of the river.
The paddock is spacious, but we have a 25ft caravan and only JUST made it in, it’s tight navigating around the fences etc. Took some very skilled manoeuvring to get back out again when we left. Listing states vehicles up to 20m but you wouldn’t have a hope of getting something that big in.
I confirmed before we arrived that there was a water hookup on the site as per the listing. This is incorrect, which we discovered through much confusion. Belinda is happy for you to fill your tanks from their bore, but you cannot remain hooked up to water as it redirects the water from her house. So it’s a water fill point (on request - if she is available), not a water hook up.
We would happily stay here again!

Wow, what a find! Set on several acres there are only 4 sites, all level, so there is a huge amount of room. It is in a well maintained rural setting with a magnificent rainforest mountain backdrop. Chrissy and Trevor were wonderful hosts who could not have been more helpful. They offered a water top up when we arrived and even a couple of hours of electrical hook up if we were low on power. We were even invited for drinks and a BBQ! All this and only 5 minutes to Port Douglas township. Incredible. I could not recommend Mowbray Meadows enough. Brilliant stay.

We are currently travelling around Australia and have stayed at plenty of Hip camps and Mowbray Meadows is right up there, Chrissy & Trevor made us feel welcome before we even arrived and went over and above to make sure everything was spot on.
The location is perfect, close enough to Port Douglas, Mossman and the Daintree but also far enough away from the crowds.
Water available on site and a dump point around 1km away is a real bonus and plenty’s of space between us and other campers on this beautiful property.
We would 100% recommend Mowbray Meadows to anyone who’s looking for a great value.

Chrissy and Trev are awesome hosts and their property is beautiful. Dogs are welcome and our doggo loved the grass to roll and sun herself on. Trees and mountains are your view to wake up to. Absolutely beautiful & peaceful listening to the birds & running water in the creek. The campsites are on the banks of the creek & the water is crystal clear. The site is close to Mossman but felt very private & the directions made it easy to find.

We were the first people to stay at Mowbray Meadows. What a wonderful property , so close to Port Douglas yet the backdrop of the mountains makes you feel like your somewhere else. The sites are huge so you won't feel crowded and you could not have asked for friendlier or more helpful hosts. Thank you Trevor and Chrissy for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back. We would highly recommend this property to future hipcampers.
