The rainforest Treehouse is situated in a rainforest pocket of the Mount Warning Caldera, completely surrounded by lush and vibrant nature and sheltered from the outside world, while being just 2 minutes away from us and the comfy road that will take you to an amazing swimming hole, cafés and the nearby town.
Once you enter the Treehouse private drive you will feel yourself being transported into a magical world of gently flowing water, natural light, tall trees, chirping birds, rustling leaves, crickets, and frogs.
You will notice the energy shift into the safe embrace of our land, protected by Springbrook Mountain.
The location of the Treehouse was chosen by our then young children. We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek.
We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy.
As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot.
It became a dwelling for our kids for a period of time, until they grew up and left to conquer the big wide world.
Now it is here for you to enjoy, to reconnect with your dreams, to dive deep into your childhood playful memories where the world of fantasy and reality merge together.

The vibrant tantric red colour of the cabin will fill you up with new energy and freshness. it is supplied with clean, luxurious linen and towels. The daring bathroom allows you to bask in a bubble bath while enjoying your favourite beverage watching the stars. That beautiful experience will be enhance by the symphony of the surrounding nature.

We pride ourselves on keeping the property lovely and clean. We are also opening our home and farm to you. So please respect it and enjoy it as we do.
We have 5 designated campsites positioned around the property. Within the designated sites, there are camp spots that we rotate.
Please check with us to see what ones are open. We need to rotate the sites and rest them. This is how we keep them well-maintained and looking amazing. If it is wet weather we will close down sites and recommend other spots.
We pride our self’s on having a lovely property and want you to have an amazing camping experience.

If you are up early in the morning you may be lucky enough to see the best in QLD barefoot water skiers training on the lake and also tandem hang gliders getting towed up from the airstrip.

Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away.
Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs and expected to be reopened late January 2026. We can still be reached on Gradys Creek Road off Summerland Way, ignore Google maps if it directs you to Lynches Creek Rd.

The location of the Treehouse was chosen by our then young children. We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek.
We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy.
As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot.

We have 5 designated campsites positioned around the property. Within the designated sites, there are camp spots that we rotate.
Please check with us to see what ones are open. We need to rotate the sites and rest them. This is how we keep them well-maintained and looking amazing. If it is wet weather we will close down sites and recommend other spots.

We've got 300 meters of pristine, year-round, spring-fed creek frontage, complete with a beautiful swimming hole that's just perfect for a refreshing dip. Beyond the creek, take a peaceful stroll through our serene spring-fed lotus pond or explore the productive lychee orchard when it's in season. And those waterfalls? You'll find three enchanting ones within just 500 meters of the property, showing off their beauty from various vantage points. Plus, the iconic Minyon Falls is only a short 10-minute drive away.
Guests have access to a charming small settlers cottage, which includes a cozy lounge area, a convenient kitchenette, and a warming fireplace – perfect for those cooler evenings. Right next door, a large, covered deck with its own fireplace offers an inviting communal space for relaxation. For your convenience, we provide clean flushing toilets and hot showers. The park is nestled alongside the everflowing Gradys Creek and features large, easily accessed, grassy powered and unpowered sites overlooking the creek. For those after more of a glamping experience, there are 3 x one bedroom cabins available. On-site amenities include hot showers, flush toilets, fully equipped camp kitchen with a large undercover area (perfect for large groups or private functions), and a laundry.
We are a dog-friendly park so the whole family is welcome. Dogs need to be controlled at all times and cleaned up after. No aggressive dogs please.
Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits only and may be subject to fire bans. Firewood and ice are available for purchase (cash preferred).
Recycling bins are provided, otherwise campers are required to take their rubbish with them. Wi-Fi and Telstra coverage are available.
Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away.
Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs and expected to be reopened late January 2026. We can still be reached on Gradys Creek Road off Summerland Way, ignore Google maps if it directs you to Lynches Creek Rd.

Firstly not sure if I can sum up this HipCamp in such a small review. From first making the booking, before leaving and during my stay the communication was quick and all instructions were really clear. The property is stunning, well kept and the facilities are amazing. The shower/toilet is phenomenal, clean and everything you need. The camp kitchen with sink and power is a nice touch. Wood fire was filled with wood and all I had to do was light it. Would highly recommend staying here and look forward to coming again soon. In the top 3 Hipcamps I have stayed it (been using Hipcamp years).

My partner and I had a fantastic time at Gabrielle’s retreat. We were lucky enough to be at the site closest to the creek, which got great shade in the afternoon, both of these things helped to cool down in the hot summer weather! Bri was very kind and helpful, making our stay a breeze. I could not recommend this hipcamp any higher!

Nice campground to stay at, has all ammenities you would need, also has a pool, playground and jump pad for kids. Close to the beach approximately 10 minute walk. Byron bay centre approximately 5 minute drive. This is a pet friendly campground. The site was accommodating for my 21.6ft caravan, long and narrow. I was just able fit on the site with the side awning out. Site was slightly sloped and in the shade, also sheltered by wind for our stay.
Would definitely stay again.

The view is spectacular. Absolutely stunning.
The campsite is incredible. We’ll set up with shade, fire pit, portaloo and cleared land, enough for plenty of tents, swags or camp trailers. The bath tub was amazing, nice and hot with the best view in the valley.
Road in and out was a bit of fun. Easy enough for novice 4x4 drivers but not to be underestimated.
We had an amazing stay and will definitely be doing it again.

Beautiful campsite with some of the best views we experienced in the region. Amenities were clean, practical, and appreciated after long days exploring. A short drive to Christmas Creek where you can swim in the creek. Sites are spaced well apart. Highly recommend having experience with a proper 4wd though. Ruts are deep and the journey up to the look out isn’t for a basic road vehicle with highway tires… lots of birds, butterflies and kangaroos 🥰

Where to go
Gold Coast
North of Currumbin, the Gold Coast is Queensland’s flagship beach destination. Stop by Burleigh Heads to browse the famous Village Markets, hit the surf at Miami Beach or Broadbeach, or get your adrenaline pumping at one of the five theme parks. Further north, the skyscraper-lined beaches of Surfer’s Paradise are world-famous, and the city’s nightlife is equally renowned.
Gold Coast Hinterlands
Away from the theme parks and beach resorts of the coast, the Gold Coast hinterlands are a natural playground of mountains, rainforest, and vineyards. Take in the views from Tamborine Mountain, explore glowworm caves in the Springbrook National Park, or hike part of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk. To escape the crowds, pitch your tent at backcountry campsites in the Lamington National Park.
NSW North Coast
South of Currumbin, Tweed Heads is the cultural hub of the Tweed region, where you can enjoy rainforest walks, surf beaches, and riverside camping. Continue south along the Legendary Pacific Coast Route to the surf mecca of Byron Bay, or head inland to hike and camp in the Nightcap National Park.
When to go
Currumbin is a year-round destination, and the sun is always shining along the Gold Coast. Surfing and water sports are possible right through winter, but peak season is summer (December through January), when attractions such as the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary can get crowded. Spring brings a number of festivals and events to the beachside, while June through October whale-watching season along the coast.
Know before you go
- The Gold Coast has an excellent public transport service, but having your own transport is useful for exploring the hinterlands and national parks.
- Currumbin has a good selection of shops where you can pick up camping gear and stock up on supplies before heading out into the hinterlands.
- Fire bans are common in Queensland during summer and dry periods, so be sure to check local recommendations.
- Camping permits are required to camp within Queensland’s national parks and must be reserved in advance.
