Pecan Ridge Mountain View Campsite

There are two campsites available. Campsite 1 & campsite 2. We booked campsite 1. Both campsites are on top of the ridge with one fire pit in the middle of the campground & both sites are right smack bang next to each other. We knew we'd be sharing the toilet & sink with campsite 2, but arrived to see they had taken up the entire campground with their swags, gazebos etc. There was no space for us to set up our tent & they had all their gear set up in sink / kitchen area with music blaring. Host arrived to say she will ask campsite 2 to move their swags, tents over so we could set up our tent. We choose instead to leave as even if they did move all their gear (which we would've felt bad about) we still would have had zero privacy from a large group that had music blaring, had already taken up all kitchen space and then needed to ask them if we could join them at the firepit. I have no doubt this site would be amazing if you had it to yourself but is way to small to have to share with a large group of people, when you are advertising the site as tranquil & reconnecting with nature. The host shouldve made them aware before our arrival that they needed to ensure they left available space for us. Not only did they fail to do this, they then blamed their guests for it. I should have done a deeper dive on reviews so accept some responsibility but do feel the listing itself is misleading. After several refusals to refund us we Essentially negotiated a 1 night refund.

Ellie’s land was absolutely beautiful, scenic, peaceful, and spotless. Everything you need for a relaxing stay with the perfect basics provided. The views were spectacular, and Ellie was such a friendly and welcoming host. Couldn’t have asked for a better camping spot!

Nice place to camp and relax the view of the mountain on morning and sunset are very relaxing portable toilet with water supply and electricity are one of the best features good for group of people to enjoy the place with unlimited supply of fire wood and good breeze of air. We definitely to comeback again and recommend to our friends. I hope they open soon the other camp site and go back to camp there and have a nice walk hike and do biking on national forest. Absolutely magical time! We had the whole place to ourselves and the owner and his lovely daughter even took us on a little tour up the mountain to one of their other spectacular camp sites. Clean, quiet and absolutely the tranquil rainforest we were seeking!

Rainforest Camping - Site 7

Took a chance on this Hip Camp after reading the reviews. We got lucky and had most of the place to ourselves which made it really special for our quick weekend away. The communal fire pit was great and the creek was beautiful and clean. Short drive to Uki or Nimbin for a day trip. Faculties were really clean and the water was hot which made the shower lovely after a long day. Unfortunately the place is being sold so not sure if the future owners will keep the Hipcamp option open. Glad we got to experience it and highly recommend it.

Comfortable camping with amazing vi

If you're looking for a peaceful and immersive natural experience with some comforts of home, this elevated camping spot is a hidden gem. The site offers stunning 180-degree views that stretch across the rainforest valley and all the way to Mount Warning. There are many thoughtful touches, such as providing firewood is provided, an outdoor (ensuite) toilet / hot shower and a covered bench area with a sink, which comes in handy with wet weather. It's remarkably quiet and peaceful. Since its on the edge of the national park, you have access to little seen areas of the national park. Highly recommend for anyone seeking serenity, scenic beauty, and a touch of adventure. Many thanks to Ellie and Gary's hospitality.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. Clean shower and toilet. Spectacular views. Very quiet, peaceful and private campsite. We towed an off-road camper trailer up the steep, gravel driveway and managed pretty well in low range. We will definitely be back.

Superb - a gem in the forest!

We enjoyed the view and the camping area. Ellie was a star! We arrived late night but she waited for us, she was very accomodating and approachable . The place was very good, with complete amenities the hot shower was a plus, the kitchen and a clean toilet. The flowing river was amazing we had a good dip. Definitely will come back again! Thank you Ellie for the wonderful stay! ❤️

Our First Hip Camp experience and we absolutely loved it! We have camped quite a bit and didn’t know what to expect of a Hip Camp property. But it was a beautiful rainforest retreat. The Owners were helpful, friendly and hospitable. We also absolutely fell in love with their dogs. We stayed for 10 days and can say that the facilities are great. Obviously like any other camp site at peak times there are wait times at toilets and showers but there was nothing to complain about. We were absolutely grateful to have been able to spend time on such a beautiful property. So many Rockpool’s and walks to do. Definitely enough to keep you entertained. Note to other campers. If you rely solely on an Esky ice is a 25min drive away as it’s so remote. So definitely recommend a fridge. Thanks to Ellee her husband And the doggies Roxy, Captain, Luna and co we 100% recommended this place to anyone looking to camp and feel like they are in a National Park. Hope to see them all again in the future.

Ellie’s property is one of the best campsites I have ever stayed at. Stunning stream for the kids and dogs to play in, close to the charming town of Uki and the breathtaking Crams Farm. Large spacious sites and all the amenities you need. An additional toilet would be a great upgrade but overall an amazing stay. Thank you for having us!

The place is lovely and creek is absolutely the highlight for our kids. However, one combined bathroom-toilet situation should be improved. There were at least 50 people at the time and just one shower-toilet was a problem. Someone is in shower and you waiting for 20 min to use toilet. With kids is not easy to manage.

We had an amazing Easter at this campsite. It’s definitely the best view we’ve seen at a Hipcamp and although we have a toilet set up, it’s nice there’s already one here plus a shower, for an easy experience. It’s good to know that unless you book both campsites, you could be sharing with someone else. We had lovely neighbours so it wasn’t a problem but I was glad I had read reviews first which let me know to expect another camping group. We look forward to coming back with a few more friends and booking the whole spot out! Such a beautiful place for a sunset and reset!

The photos of the property do not do Ellie’s place justice!!! So beautifully maintained and the layout is just perfect. 8 sites so it’s not overcrowded at all. We had our two children with us and we could see them from our site wherever they were which gave us peace of mind. We all felt really safe there. The creek is the highlight. Lots of different little rock pools next to the sites or you can follow the creek down into the forest to many different swim spots. Would definitely recommend doing that. Hot shower and clean toilet were amazing. Ellie’s communication is great and she is so accommodating. No reception for us which made the experience that much better. Thank you Ellie for sharing your incredible property which us ♥️

It was a beautiful place for family and friends. The site is nice and neat with an amazing mountain view and we also enjoyed sunrise and sunset. The site is very private too. I definitely come back.

Pretty Property & great hostess

We took our new Feathertop 19'6'" caravan to Ellie's "Hideaway". On arrival she was most hospitable & showed us to our site. Fantastic property.... The only thing that spoilt the stay was the Tweed Council requires you, or the property, to have a fire permit for a camp fire. If you go camping a prerequisite is a camp fire for the ambience.....the property has a stream running through it Ellie has pumps for the water. Tweed Council need to get a life. There is a communal truck wheel fire pit there with surrounding stone seats. We were not allowed to use it......otherwise Ellie's property is great for camping. Very nice hostess. Loved chatting with her. We went in a group & she set aside an area for us. Take your bug spray as they come out at night. Not biting ones, just small enough to come in through the fly screens and the horse flys were around. Nimbin & Uki are not a long drive away for your fun.....wink wink. Also for just essentials. Lismore & Murwillumbah are close enough for groceries & meat if you forget to take something. The dam is close by & very surprisingly set up with electric BBQ & rotundas for groups. "We'll be back"

Awesome camping spot with an idyllic creek you can swim in on a hot day. Clean hot shower and toilet. Dish washing sink and a jug and toaster to use for breakfast. Power available if you need and a friendly host to make sure you are set up comfortably. Nature surrounds, full grass coverage and the beautiful creek. Perfect!…. PS: Uki is only 25mins away for well stocked super, great coffee and a quick ale at the pub.

We loved our stay onto Ellie & Garry's Land, the rivers & creeks are clean and we found some different secluded swimming holes for every day so peaceful. We loved the visit onto the Farm, see the cattle and the beautiful top view. We did our fire every evening, so relaxing, talking drinking and eating dinner around. Truely DOG Friendly at its best, Yeah! Thank you for having us for a very good break away, we will be back, hopefully very soon.

Camping at the Pecan Ridge Campsite was amazing. Luckily we had booked Site 1 & Site 2 for our extended family, as we wouldn’t have had enjoyed the area as much sharing with strangers. Our dogs were off lead, and had a great time. The ensuite bathroom and sink were fabulous. Two wheel drive made it up the hill, but had to give it the berries, our 4x4 with camper no worries. The whole property is very clean and well maintained.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful spot! The natural surroundings were stunning, and the creek was a highlight—our family had so much fun playing and exploring there. Ellie was a fantastic host, very attentive and welcoming, which made our stay even better. The only downside was that there was just one toilet/bathroom to share among quite a few people. With small kids, this was a bit challenging to manage. Overall, though, it was a lovely experience, and we'd recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway close to nature!

Fantastic Hipcamp ! 👌 The property is huge, very beautiful and perfectly maintained, the owners have put a lot of effort into the camping areas and also included a nice bathroom with a camp kitchen attached plus the option to connect to power (extra cost on arrival & need a 30m lead). There are 8 campsites spread out, you can hear the running creek from all and it's so relaxing! There are about 4 rock pools you can sit in, we took a floatie and our dog loved the place too. Be careful driving past owners home as their dogs can be outside and may come close to your car, i fell in love with all of them, including the owners lol!! Site 6, 7 & 8 are closest to enter the creek and there also the sites suitable for caravans. We stayed for 15 nights during Christmas in our caravan and we couldn't have asked for a better stay. The glamping tents are gorgeous too, we will definitely return, thanks for letting us stay Ellie and Gary, your place is simply stunning 😍
