We have 5 designated campsites positioned around the property. Within the designated sites, there are camp spots that we rotate.
Please check with us to see what ones are open. We need to rotate the sites and rest them. This is how we keep them well-maintained and looking amazing. If it is wet weather we will close down sites and recommend other spots.
We pride our self’s on having a lovely property and want you to have an amazing camping experience.

If you are up early in the morning you may be lucky enough to see the best in QLD barefoot water skiers training on the lake and also tandem hang gliders getting towed up from the airstrip.

Our sites are completely isolated from town, with views and not visible from the road. Sites are set among nearly 100 acres of a mix of open land and rainforest. Multiple natural springs exist on the property and a few small spring-fed waterholes are scattered down the cascading hills. Friendly ducks, geese, fish, horses and an abundance of native wildlife live here. This location is home to several endangered species due to being one of the last isolated pockets of rainforest in the area.
Sites are part of The Bush Clinic where we specialise in designing and making natural creams, soaps, teas, dodorants and other products as well as running regular Meditation courses and topics such as Energy, Frequency, Grounding and Advanced Organic Growth techniques for those wanting to join in are formally available during your stay.

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot!
The Stonesthrow Bush Camping sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. These sites have access to facilities - toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Some sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. THESE ARE THE ONLY SITES THAT CARAVANS CAN ACCESS.
The Stonesthrow Elevated sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites.
Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather-dependent.
We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top.
Due to insurance considerations, no 'day visitors' are allowed unless they have an approved Hipcamp booking.
We are a Leave No Trace campground - ensure what you bring in, leaves with you.

Venman Bushland National Park is just up the road and offers great walking trails. Daisy Hill Conservation Park is also a short drive away which is a great spot for a picnic and offers mountain bike trails, walking tracks and a BBQ area.
Moreton bay access is also close by with a short drive to either Victoria Point, Cleveland or Redland Bay.
In addition, the property has beautiful walking trails.
Campfires permitted however must be kept within the allocated fire pit and must be outside of restrictions.
You must have portable toilet and be fully self-sufficient. All waste to be removed by campers upon departure. We would like to preserve this site for all future campers so please ensure that you abide by our rules.
Generators welcomed, to be switched off between 10pm and 7am.

The location of the Treehouse was chosen by our then young children. We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek.
We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy.
As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot.
It became a dwelling for our kids for a period of time, until they grew up and left to conquer the big wide world.

Our sites are completely isolated from town, with views and not visible from the road. Sites are set among nearly 100 acres of a mix of open land and rainforest. Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot!
The Stonesthrow Bush Camping sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. These sites have access to facilities - toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Some sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. THESE ARE THE ONLY SITES THAT CARAVANS CAN ACCESS.
The Stonesthrow Elevated sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites.
Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather-dependent.
We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top.
Due to insurance considerations, no 'day visitors' are allowed unless they have an approved Hipcamp booking.

Daisy Hill Conservation Park is also a short drive away which is a great spot for a picnic and offers mountain bike trails, walking tracks and a BBQ area.
Moreton bay access is also close by with a short drive to either Victoria Point, Cleveland or Redland Bay.

Campfires permitted however must be kept within the allocated fire pit and must be outside of restrictions.

Our campsite is called 'Creek Side' as it's located right next to the creek on a flat grassy patch of land. A great little swimming hole is right next to camp.
Just 75 metres from Creek Side is an outdoor hot-shower and flushing toilet available for guests and an Infared Sauna which can be booked for an additional fee.
We are located 15 minutes from Murwillumbah, 30 minutes to Cabarita Beach, 40 minutes to Gold Coast Airport; 50 minutes to Byron Bay.
Well behaved pets welcome by request (we have chooks and cows so your pet must be friendly!)

Lamington National Park adjoins this outrageously beautiful property that features the waterfall made famous by actress Laura Dern in the iconic Sunsilk shampoo commercial filmed here in 1998. A beautiful creek descends through the 135 acres which includes rainforest that is listed as State significant vegetation.
There is a deep swimming hole at the waterfall and other swimming areas up and down the creeks.
You can hike to the upper plateaus that feature two ancient Strangler Figs with ocean views and a view of Mt.Warning as well as to the Bushranger Caves and lookouts higher up on the Lamington Plateau.
Natural beauty is everywhere you look with mountain views, volcanic boulders and rock formations, Upland Rainforest and lots of wildlife. This is a property for nature lovers.

Our campsites beside Crystal Creek offer you the opportunity to get away from it all and back to nature in a beautiful tranquil setting. This 54 acre property offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and convenient access to a range of destinations including Murwillumbah, Tyalgum and Chillingham.
Breakfast and lunch is available at the nearby Crystal Creek Cafe and nursery.
Camp along beautiful Crystal Creek - the level sites are on established grass. Each site has either a firepit or a fireplace, relax around the crackling campfire in the evenings as you gaze at the night skies. Sites are on the eastern side of the creek and are shaded from the hot afternoon sun. Cool off in the rock pool and enjoy the views of The Cougals and Springbrook Mountain. Crystal Creek is a spring fed creek and in periods of drought, reduced water flow may mean that swimming is not possible.
The sites suit tents/swags, camper trailers and camper vans. Some sites suitable for caravans and motorhomes. Please send request. Minimum two night booking in peak times.

With direct access to the Albert River, this private camp site will tick all the boxes. Pick a spot along the beautifully manicured grass flat, that has direct river frontage, to set up camp. This site is unpowered, but we do provide a portaloo for your ease. We are located across the river from the lovely Darlington Campground, where you also grab a delicious coffee on the weekends while the kids have a play in the park.
This spot is perfect for groups holidaying together but want the luxury of their own site. We can accommodate up to 12 adults - unlimited children! Pets considered on a case by case basis, so long as they are on a lead at all times and all droppings are collected before you leave.

Beautiful clean, quiet site. We were there when the whole camp site was full and it still wasn't too busy, the sizes of the camp sites are very generous. The creek is gorgeous and good for a swim :) great spot for bird watching too! Leanne is a fantastic, responsive host, we'll definitely be back.

Such a beautiful location and camping spot. The lake/dam is lovely and we really enjoyed going for a swim and kayak. It was such a peaceful location and we absolutely loved seeing the cows swimming. It was not far from Mount tambourine so we enjoyed going exploring and doing some hikes and eating at the cafes. Overall we loved the camp ground.

Stonesthrow is an excellent place to camp, just a stonesthrow from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Richard was very friendly and accommodating on arrival. The elevated sites were suitably spaced apart, providing enough privacy and so much so that every site had their own view.

Loved the camping at Stonesthrow. Great site near the composting toilets. Exceptional communication and a special thanks to Miranda for helping pick the site. The property is not far from Cunungra for supplies and site seeing. Highly recommend.

Loved the spot. Very isolated and quiet. Basically a one way road to the property so be cautious is you are towning a caravan. We arrived after a few rainy days so a bit muddy and slippery to the site along with dodging cattle. (That's not a criticism, love the cows). The creek is awesome with a couple of deeper spots for a good dip. Only criticism is communication. We found the address but not sure if it was related to the property. Someone came out and said keep going, you'll be right. Worked it out ourselves from there.
