Weekend Trip to Weefarm Brisbane River Camping

Amazing spot so close to Brisbane! Peaceful and private. We really enjoyed it there. You are surrounded by the sounds of birds, fish jumping out of the water, kangaroos and cows across the river and gentle sounds of river rapids in the background. Ideal camping. Big thanks to the hosts for sharing such a nice place.

Weekend Trip to McKenzie Creek Campsite

We loved our stay at McKenzie creek. Ryan was a fantastic host and his property is beautiful. The campsite is very private, and we loved that our dogs were fenced it minus a gate to the creek and the road in but both were far enough away from our camp the dogs didn’t notice. The hot shower and composting toilet is a lovely extra to have all to yourselves. We will certainly be back again :)

Weekend Trip to McKenzie Creek Campsite

We had an amazing time camping at McKenzie Creek! The place is absolutely beautiful and much more spacious than I expected—it was perfect. We were there with four dogs, and they had the time of their lives running freely and swimming in the creek. It’s a great spot to disconnect, as there’s no phone reception, but that actually made the experience even better. We’re definitely planning to go back! Ryan, the host, was wonderful—although we didn’t meet in person, he was very polite, helpful, and responsive in our chats. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a peaceful and pet-friendly escape.

Had an amazing weekend with a large group of 30 adults. Patrick and Tom were fantastic to book through and helped make organising the weekend so much easier. Arranged an afternoon at the winery and a bus to make getting to and from easy and safe. Could not have been a better weekend. Will definitely be back.

We loved our time camping at Knights ranch. It’s important to us to be able to camp with our dogs and this spot was perfect for pets and kids. Beachmere is a great little beachside town and Bribie is only 20 minutes away for day trips. The permanent campers were friendly and helpful. The flying fox was definitely a highlight for the kids. Can’t wait to come back

We spent the last two nights at Scott’s campground and had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and everyone was incredibly helpful. The location is stunning — right in the middle of nature — and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone. The evening campfire added such a cozy vibe. The toilet and shower facilities were also spotless and well-maintained. Thank you so much for the great experience!

Don't hesitate to book this camping spot, you definately won't be disappointed. From the time of booking, the host Ryan was super helpful and friendly with any queries i had. Nothing was too much trouble. 💫Large flat ground, with a supplied firepit ( BYO firewood ) 💫 power, which was nice as we usually camp completely off-grid 💫Amenities, nice hot shower with supplied toiletries as in shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. This was a totally unexpected, pleasant surprise. 💫Eco toilet, very clean with toilet paper supplied 💫 be sure to take own gazebos as very little shade, but we were well equipped for this so didn't bother us at all 💫 disconnection from internet was perfect, with very little service 💫nothing better than sitting around the open fire, star gazing having a few quiet drinks and toasting marshmallows 💫very peaceful location, relaxing listening to the creek flowing in the background. 💫would definately go back here in the future. 📍One thing we weren't expecting was from about 4:30pm things get very damp very quickly, so much moisture and dew around. After the first night we were then prepared for this each day after. Just a little FYI for this time of the year. THANKS again Ryan, can't complain.

We loved our camp at Kobble Creek Family Farm. Marcaus and his family were great hosts and went the extra mile for their guests. Even driving us in to our site with all our gear and a dog! Definitely require a 4x4 to access the camp sites. All wheel drive is not a good idea don’t risk it. Forest Deck 1 is a great spot that’s quite private. A few decking boards were a little rotted and broke during our stay but Marcaus is aware and replacing / maintaining as necessary. Highly recommend!!

Stonesthrow is a rural property in the Illinbah valley, nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, with council approval for limited camping (4WD only - leave no trace). So if you want to escape the crowds at public campgrounds, your privacy and enjoyment are assured! We are NOT a 4WD adventure park so vehicles must be parked up at your site on arrival and left there unless leaving the property to go to town/tourist activities. Any exploration of the property or travel to toilets is strictly on foot only- NO 4WD'ing. Anyone driving around the property will be asked to leave. We have sites both near the creek and facilities and up on the plateau. Our elevated/remote sites require capable 4WD's with off-road/AT tyres and campers need to be fully self-sufficient including having their own sealed chemical camping toilet and an ensuite/privacy tent. If you don't have your own commercial chemical camping toilet then you will be given a choice of sites with access to facilities. We reserve the right to view/verify your toilet before allowing you access to the elevated/remote sites. Caravans are restricted on where they can access- with no guarantee of sufficient sunlight for solar. Elevated/remote sites cannot be reached with a caravan- please bear this in mind if booking with a caravan. Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they are on a lead when moving about the property. Please let us know if you wish to bring a dog and you will be allocated an appropriate site as some areas of the property are designated 'dog-free' camping zones. The common area (old shearing shed) has composting toilets, communal fridge, microwave, jug, drinking water, sink for washing up and table/chairs. There is 500 m of (shallow) creek frontage, kms of walking/riding trails and grassy creek flats for recreational activities. Over the decades, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses. There is also a variety of fruit trees and plantation timber. Please note that arrival must be in daylight hours with sufficient time for orientation, travel to your site and set up before dark. If your preferred site is not available , shoot us a message , we may have an alternative for you:) Our rules are really not rocket science, don't take things that are not yours, use the toilets instead of our bush, don't cut down trees or damage things, that includes damaging trees, don't leave anything but ash in the firepit ,make sure the fire is fully extinguished, remove your rubbish and respect and consider your fellow campers and our neighbours. Axe throwing has recently become popular within the city, if you must try it on the property , bring a board, our trees are not to be used as targets. Stay out of our gated paddocks. This is for Biosecurity and your safety. We are trying to create peace and tranquility that people crave so much when they get out of their busy lives. We are not the place for rowdy parties or large groups ( unless you would like to book out the entire property) Most of our sites are nestled on different levels between trees and bush so you will feel like you are the only ones there. You are welcome to have a campfire in the provided fire pit or drum when there is no fire ban in place, however due to the unique surroundings we offer, we do require you to be extra vigilant with fire safety. You are most welcome to use your own off the ground firepit anywhere in your site. Please read site descriptions carefully as we have sites that are substantially different in access, privacy , level ground and distance to a toilet. We affectionately call our property "The Rustic Resort". This is a tribute to the rusty water tanks and dilapidated animal shelters that were left behind when we moved in. Our farm was once part of a thriving rural property in the 1920's. It used to be a dairy farm and then a banana farm. We now raise goats and cattle. Our property is dog friendly to responsible dog owners, we are happy for your pups to be off lead as long as you are the one in control. We have a large farm dam that never runs dry, (NO fishing please as we use this for livestock and swimming, and the last thing we need is hooks in peoples or animals feet. ) It is wonderful for a refreshing swim, there is a ladder to make it easier to get into the dam and during the summer months there are floating noodles for your use. Feel free to bring your paddle boards and canoes. We are centrally located to explore the Glass house mountains ( 20mins), Stoney creek (15min), Rocky holes (35min), Bribie island (40 min), Woodford (10min), Mt Mee (10min), Montville, Maleny (40min) and much, much more. We are 10 minutes from Woodford and the wonderful Woodford Folk Festival. "White Ridge Farm" in Elimbah is only 20 minutes from us, and the kids will love the interactive farm experience and cuddling the baby animals. Wamuran town centre has has an IGA, a wonderful butcher, bakery, bottle shop, 24 hour servo, a rural supply shop, fish and chip shop, a new pizza place and a Thai/Indian take away that is sensational. Wamuran holds a local country market every 4th Saturday per month from 7am to midday. There is a Woodfire pizza van in town 2 out of 4 weekends, look up Deadwood Pizza Wamuran to check the dates. We love them. If you would like to stay longer but feel like you need a shower occasionally, there is a public pool in Woodford and a public pool on King Street towards Caboolture , both are about a 10/15 minute drive from us. Wamuran is less than an hour north from the city, yet you will feel like you are far away. UPDATE as of Easter 2025 - creek is flowing, grass is growing. Some of our tracks are rutted and may become slippery in wet weather. We do basic maintenance to keep access open for 4WDS. Be prepared to apply your 4WD skills. Kobble Creek West is accessible from several locations on our property boundary. Ideal for creek exploring and rock hopping. There’s even a small lagoon now awaiting. Check out the short hiking trails on our property (there are hike options suitable to your preferred difficulty). Bring your machete for an even greater hiking experience! You can relax by or in the spring fed dam, explore seasonal Kobble Creek, feed the chickens or goats, spot the abundant bird life, or sit patiently and a deer or fox may appear at dusk. Enjoy the evenings sitting around the campfire as you gaze at the stars. All sites have sufficient spacing from other sites to ensure acceptable privacy. You are welcome to enjoy our off-grid camping with the expectation that facilities are minimal. NOTE: Surcharges exist for a number of circumstances, including day visitors and single-night bookings. After you turn onto Wallace road it’s the first right at the yellow letterbox. Pull through and down to the left. Through the gate next to the container out into the back paddock. Please keep this gate shut. There is a designated area for Hip-Camp. Some areas are sandy and difficult to re-establish so please stick to the firm grass. If you have animals please clean up after them and dogs are to be on lead if they do not recall or like to chase wildlife. As we have wonderful bird life along with lizards and chickens on the property. The fire pit has bricks around it. You can help yourself to any kindling but it’s BYO firewood. Please do not chop logs or collect logs from the property.

All UPDATES/NOTES listed below are in answer to common questions we are asked - please read all before requesting a booking, especially the need to confirm your 4WD status and camping platform at time of booking request. Our property is 4WD access. You are risking your booking and vehicle if you turn up in a 2WD or family SUV. See Extras for booking park and ride option if your vehicle is 2WD. UPDATE as of Easter 2025 - creek is flowing, grass is growing. Some of our tracks are rutted and may become slippery in wet weather. We do basic maintenance to keep access open for 4WDS. Be prepared to apply your 4WD skills. Kobble Creek West is accessible from several locations on our property boundary. Ideal for creek exploring and rock hopping. There’s even a small lagoon now awaiting. Check out the short hiking trails on our property (there are hike options suitable to your preferred difficulty). Bring your machete for an even greater hiking experience! You can relax by or in the spring fed dam, explore seasonal Kobble Creek, feed the chickens or goats, spot the abundant bird life, or sit patiently and a deer or fox may appear at dusk. Enjoy the evenings sitting around the campfire as you gaze at the stars. All sites have sufficient spacing from other sites to ensure acceptable privacy. You are welcome to enjoy our off-grid camping with the expectation that facilities are minimal. NOTE: Surcharges exist for a number of circumstances, including day visitors and single-night bookings. These can be found in the Extras and must be added at the time of booking for your request to be accepted. NOTE: Please also indicate that you are 4WD and your camping platform and size as you book. This enables us to site you appropriately. NOTE: Each site has a stand alone camping toilet bucket, located behind a small shade cloth screen near your camp site. You’ll have a seat to sit on, a lid to close, and the need to throw some Leaves and grass in each time you go.
