Our property is 4WD access. You are risking your booking and vehicle if you turn up in a 2WD or family SUV. See Extras for booking park and ride option if your vehicle is 2WD. UPDATE as of late July 2025 - the creek is dry.. Some of our tracks are rutted and may become slippery in wet weather. We do basic maintenance to keep access open for 4WDS. Be prepared to apply your 4WD skills. Kobble Creek West is accessible from several locations on our property boundary. Ideal for creek exploring and rock hopping. There’s even a small lagoon now awaiting. Check out the short hiking trails on our property (there are hike options suitable to your preferred difficulty). Bring your machete for an even greater hiking experience! You can relax by or in the spring fed dam, explore seasonal Kobble Creek, feed the chickens or goats, spot the abundant bird life, or sit patiently and a deer or fox may appear at dusk. Enjoy the evenings sitting around the campfire as you gaze at the stars. All sites have sufficient spacing from other sites to ensure acceptable privacy. You are welcome to enjoy our off-grid camping with the expectation that facilities are minimal. NOTE: Surcharges exist for a number of circumstances, including day visitors and single-night bookings. These can be found in the Extras and must be added at the time of booking for your request to be accepted. NOTE: Please also indicate that you are 4WD and your camping platform and size as you book. This enables us to site you appropriately. NOTE: Each site has a stand alone camping toilet bucket, located behind a small shade cloth screen near your camp site. You’ll have a seat to sit on, a lid to close, and the need to throw some Leaves and grass in each time you go.

This is a private 1acre campsite with a 4acre buffer zone of native forest situated on a 140acre property in Witheren Heights about 45min from the Gold Coast. Just 8 minutes away you will find the Coomera river and 2 minutes beyond the small town of Canungra with lots of quaint cafe’s and small local businesses. Forest Nook is a private and secluded get away that feels disconnected from society, but is only 45 minutes away from the Gold Coast. Just 20 minutes away is Lamington National Park. Whether for a small gathering of friends or a family get away, this beautiful private nature retreat will provide the peace and quiet you’ve been craving. At the moment the land is undeveloped, you will need to bring all your own supplies, water, camper or tent. Firewood can be found on the land. You will also have access to the public areas on the rest of the 140acre property and will find public toilets placed within walking distance throughout the land. Forest Nook offers a nature escape, bushwalks, bird and nature observation, a place to unwind in privacy with the farmland home to goats, chickens and a pig within walking distance. The campsite is situated on the beach, sheltered by the sheoaks in the back dunes. At the rear of the campsite lies a freshwater lagoon, locally known as the keyholes. Currently, there are four sites available to be booked. There is a camp kitchen with a two gas burner, all pots and pans, plates and cutlery with table and chairs to sit at. There is also a big esky there to use for either your food or drinks. Fresh water is provided in twenty litre drums. The bush shower works on the keg being heated up just like a kettle. Once it is hot then a nice warm shower is to be had to wash off all the salt from the ocean. There is also two compost toilets for your convenience. A unique feature includes the opportunity for surfing, fishing, and swimming in your private lagoon. A short drive will take you to Point Lookout. 10 minutes and you are at the pub mixing with the locals. Access is via the beach only and tides are a consideration. Please check "Point Lookout tides" on Willy Weather. I don't normally travel on the beach if the tide is over 1.5 metres. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is required. Camper trailers can be brought in as they are light. Caravans are not permitted due to the tight turning circles.

We had such a wonderful stay at Highland Retreat. Kenny met us when we arrived and gave clear directions to our site — such a friendly and helpful welcome! The grounds were recently mowed and really well maintained, making it easy to set up and enjoy. The views were absolutely stunning — wide open and completely unobstructed. We especially loved having the horses in the paddock next to us; it added such a peaceful and country charm to the stay. We can’t wait to go back — highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quiet, scenic escape!

We had an amazing time at this quiet and secluded campsite. Unfortunately, the creek wasn’t running, and there was a fire ban in place, but it didn’t take away from the peaceful atmosphere. Marcus was an excellent host - friendly, helpful, and went the extra mile by assisting me in removing a broken wheel while I was changing a tyre on my vehicle.

This was a fantastic place to camp. Views were amazing and there was plenty of space for the kids and 2 dogs. We were able to tow our 19ft caravan to the site relatively easily. Fit pit and table were also a plus. Would definitely stay here again if I come through the area.

Great spot for a few quiet nights away. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. The place has everything you would need, camp kitchen with sink connected to water, gas burner and a table under a roof. Hot showers and toilets (composting). Short walk down to the beach. Perfect time of the year also, watching whales, dolphins and catching fish daily. Easy enough to get to as the entrance was washed away. John sent through directions and a map. Would camp here again!!!
