Buxton Bush Retreat is a privately owned parcel of 17 acres located 7 kilometers (6 minute drive) from the quaint seaside village of Buxton.
The front 5 acres is 'home' to Kerrie and Brian, their two puppies (Jazz and Jaxi) and two cats (Bangers and Mash).
The remainder of the property (about 12 acres) comprises of flat, well grassed areas and natural bushland.
There are eight(8) well maintained, large, flat camping areas and each has its own fire pit. An initial supply of firewood will be provided.
There is no water or power throughout these camping areas, hence they are only suitable for "fully self contained" motor homes and caravans.
Apart from humans, dogs and cats, the property is inhabited by kangaroos and a variety of birdlife.
The small township of Buxton is home to a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. There is one general store which sells most consumables, including alcohol. They also serve up meals every Wednesday. Buxton has a great little boat ramp on the Isis River which provides easy access for river fishing or to the Coral Sea for ocean fishing.
So, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable QUIET and relaxing campsite with not too many people around then Buxton Bush Retreat many be just the place for you. No 'midges' or sand flies or dirt/sand camping sites .... all sites are flat and fully grassed and maintained.

Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉
Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe.
Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties.
Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature, we guarantee you will have an amazing experience.

In the kitchen area you will also find a pool table and dart board and arcade game for your use.
If you choose to bring your horse you will find stabling or yards under Extras as begin your booking. The cost can be seen as you view the sites. The stables are rubber floored, meaning you use minimal sawdust therefore minimal dust. They are equipped with automatic waterers and feed bins. The yards are separated so that the horses can't reach each other from one yard to the other. Please ensure these areas are cleaned before you leave. Fabulous spot. Big, well spaced sites with fire pits and picnic benches. Lovely clean toilets. Staff are very friendly and the dam is just wonderful for a swim. They even provide kayaks for free use. There’s lovely walks around the property for people with dogs. We’ve been 3 times now.

Circles in the Forest was beautiful and peaceful. Facilities were so cool and super clean. Communication was clear and we were met by the lovely caretakers. It was a good way off the road so the peace was deafening and the vibe special. Fabulous fire pits with firewood galore. $5 in the honesty box! Beautiful clean, cool plunge pool. They have thought of everything. Close to Childers for entertaining shopping and easy to go adventuring to the beaches close by for the day and then relax under the stars for the evening. Couldn’t fault it. We could easily hang there for a week!

Fun track to get into camp, we managed to get our 22ft van in no problems. Plenty of fire wood laying around, we didnt need to purchase any for our 2 night stay. Animal feeding was a hoot for the young ones. Very flat area, lots of shady trees, and lots of cleared areas for solar. Very friendly hosts. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Great location with a friendly host I wish we could have stayed longer. Our dam front site seemed to have been given to another visitor but despite that, we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our 2 nights stay. We maintained area, nice and quiet. We were the only ones there. The weather was hot so the dogs enjoyed themselves swimming in the dam. We would highly recommend

Definitely coming back to this property. Close enough but also far enough away from the road and ton for peacefulness amongst the gumtrees. Toilets and showers were immaculate and so lovely as well as the camp kitchen. Only stopped over for the night but absolutely will be back for longer.

Splitters farm has to be one of the best things about Bundaberg! This was our second visit to Splitters and it really is a family favourite. So much for the kids to do all while being a relaxing getaway for parents. Facilities are immaculate! Staff are friendly! Highly recommend

Weekend Trip to Award winning Childers Nature Camp
We were a group of 10 people camping. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Lovely quiet spot by the dam. Very friendly owners. Loved all the activities. Fishing comp especially was fun. We would highly recommend camping here for all ages.
