The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve. We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking. Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome. The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. There is a bike track and playground with Mini Putt Putt to keep the kids amused! Currently an RC track in the making for the remote 4WD enthusiasts. Easy access to the Mary River if you would like a spot of fishing, swimming or kayaking. Keep your eye out for the platypus and Mary River Turtles. We also have fire pits available at most sites with plenty of free firewood to collect around the property. Your fury friends are more than welcome but for the safety of them and others must be on a lead at all times. We are located about 50 minutes from Gympie, an hour 15 minutes from Rainbow Beach and or Hervey Bay and 45 minutes from Maryborough. The town of Tiaro is only 15 minutes down the road which has a Foodworks, Pub, United Fuel and Cafe. Don't forget the local Gundy Pub is only 5 minutes down the road. Great atmosphere and meals "tell them we sent you". Gundy Getaway is the perfect place to get back to basics and enjoy the peace and serenity.

Unfortunately there are no horses available here to hire. It is just over 100km north of Brisbane. The town of Imbil is only 6km away and has a recently opened IGA with all the supplies you need. There is also a bakery, 2 coffee shops, a pub with great meals, and a well equipped petrol station. There are markets every Sunday in the Main Street. Borumba Dam is 4.5kms up the road. It is perfect for boating enthusiasts who want to fish or do various water sports. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. We also have fire pits available at most sites with plenty of free firewood to collect around the property. Your fury friends are more than welcome but for the safety of them and others must be on a lead at all times. We are located about 50 minutes from Gympie, an hour 15 minutes from Rainbow Beach and or Hervey Bay and 45 minutes from Maryborough. The town of Tiaro is only 15 minutes down the road which has a Foodworks, Pub, United Fuel and Cafe. Don't forget the local Gundy Pub is only 5 minutes down the road. We have a working farm full of animals to enjoy, for the kids to pat and interact with. Jump aboard the 4pm little train to feed the animals. Relaxing by the creek, or take in the great views from the top of the hill, each site has many things to offer. This will be the holiday the kids will want to come back to. Just 17km to the nearest supermarkets, 11 km to fuel and bottleshop for last minute supplies. Amenities include: Flushing Portable toilets just a short walk from your camp. Hot shower in the Outdoor Bush Shower. Attractions close by. * Gympie's Historical Steam train " The Mary Valley Rattler" does trips on Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays. * Historical Theebine Hotel is just 22km away and has cold beer and great meals. * Dickabram Bridge is 25km away. It is the oldest remaining large steel truss bridge constructed in Queensland. Or just take a quiet stroll observing the sights and sounds of the natural wildlife. I purchased the farm in 2015 with my children to build a dream, a lifestyle I'm passionate about, one I could share with my family. Stirling’s Crossing is situated in the Mary Valley on a lush 150 acre Equestrian property, which is bordered by the Yabba Creek and the Imbil State Forest. Our spacious level sites are surrounded by lush paddocks and beautiful scenery. Large drive-thru sites perfect for buses and big rigs, there’s plenty of room to relax and enjoy the peaceful farm setting. Guests can also bring their horses to Stirlings Crossing as Imbil State forest is perfect for horse back trail riding. Horse yards can be set up on request. The Tom Quilty has been held here twice before and will be held here again in 2026. Other endurance events are also held here during the year. There is an extra $10 charge per horse per night. Unfortunately there are no horses available here to hire. It is just over 100km north of Brisbane. The town of Imbil is only 6km away and has a recently opened IGA with all the supplies you need. There is also a bakery, 2 coffee shops, a pub with great meals, and a well equipped petrol station. There are markets every Sunday in the Main Street. Borumba Dam is 4.5kms up the road. It is perfect for boating enthusiasts who want to fish or do various water sports. The property has a large modern ammenities block. * Ladies toilet and shower amenities x 5 * Mens toilet and shower amenities x 4 * Disabled/Family bathroom x 2 There are limited powered sites available on request. There is access to the Yabba Creek for kayaking, swimming and fishing. You can also access the Imbil State forest either by 4wd, trail bike or mountain bike. Pets are welcome but must be on a lead as there are horses in paddocks on the property. This is a breeding and training horse facility so could guests please stay away from fenced off paddocks and the large horse complex. It is also requested for guests to please take all rubbish with you on departure and leave the area as you found it.

Absolutely incredible campsite! I wish we had been able to stay for longer, but so glad that we managed to get a couple of nights. Campsite is spotless, pitches are really large and the top 2 in particular have great views over the hills and down to the river. We had the site all to ourselves for the two nights we were there so it was really peaceful. Fire pit was great, and so were the kayaks for a peaceful paddle down the river after a day at the markets. Thank you so much!

Such a lovely peaceful place to stay for a couple of nights. Loved the outdoor bath to cool down in with a cold beer in the afternoon! The creek was a bit high and muddy due to the rain when we first got there so didn’t swim but loved how the hosts had set up chairs and swing seats for those hot summer days of swimming.

We didn't make it to our camp site due to my car being not suitable. But we made it a couple of KM in and me and my daughters were stunned by the tranquillity of this beautiful property. I wish we made it the final 10km! If I'm ever equipped with a 4x4 I'll 110% be making this place my first destination. Thanks again for allowing us into your space!

Our family had such a wonderful weekend away at Anita’s beautiful property. It was so peaceful, we explored the area on foot, along the creek and also in our 4WD up to a lookout high on the ridge. The horses visited us at our cabin several times, which was a highlight. The cabin was so private we felt like we had the property to ourselves. Definitely need a 4WD! And the drive to Anita’s property is so beautiful too.

We loved camping at Yabba Creek Farm. Kaylea and Dean were great hosts and kept the farm was very well maintained. It was peaceful, plenty of space. Grab a kayak so you can see a platypus like we did. The wife loved the petting zoo, especially the turkey. Our doggie also had the best time. Highly recommended Yabba Creek Farm to anyone and we’ll definitely be returning. Thanks for a great stay.

The property is a beautiful spot with some gorgeous views and wildlife. The swimming hole was a favourite as it was so much fun! The waterfall walk was very refreshing, it will look amazing when it is in flow. The doggies had the best time with plenty of space to run around. My group of 6 stayed at Big Fig which was a lovely spot with plenty of room. The bathroom was also rather pleasant with plenty of hot water. We would definitely come and stay again!

Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There are many ways to spend your time during your stay with us. Go for a stroll or cycle around the farm, try to catch a fish in the dam (you'll need to bring your own fishing supplies), play with and feed the animals or play board games. We have a sauna to sweat out the toxins and stress of city living. We also have a trampoline and swing set for children or the young at heart. Finally, end your day with a mouthwatering BBQ and toasting marshmallows around the fire while you gaze up at the stars! Our accommodation is ideal for those wanting to escape the hussle and bussle of city living, for families (especially those with small children who'd love to spend time with farm animals), romantic weekend getaways, groups or clubs (including business and family/friends) and those simply passing through the area. And of course, we're pet friendly! We offer a large Queenslander home and 4 cottages, all built with comfort and convenience in mind. Our farm is home to a wide variety of friendly animals. There are goats, alpacas, chooks, sheep, miniature horses, guinea pigs, birds, peacocks, dogs, cats, cows, turkeys and ducks! You're able to join us in feeding the animals at approximately 8am and 4pm; this is a particularly special experience for children of all ages! We include ingredients for a hot breaky for the first night of your booking. Firewood is included. The tiny house is incredibly well insulated so doesn't have the usual heat issues. Our property is 12 acres surrounded by a gum lined creek with no neighbours in sight. We have a number of paddocks for our 2 cows and 1 paddock full of bee hives. The tiny house is in it's own fenced paddock. The fencing is for cattle and is not a dog fence if you are hoping to have your dog off leash. If you are travelling with your horse we have a paddock with water that is suitable. Send us a PM if this is something you are interested in. If you have a larger party, we can accommodate a caravan or other tents. Tidy pets are welcome with their own BYO bed and should be on-leash around the property. Some things to do within walking distance - Walk around our access road to the creek crossing on the opposite side of the paddock. - Check the weir for our platypus. - You are surrounded by incredible wildlife so be on the lookout for rainbow parrots, king parrots, black, pink and white cockatoos, kookaburras, echidnas, wallabies and yabbies in the creeks. - Walk across the weir crossing and up the access road hill to the top of the macadamia nut farm and into the Gympie National Park.
