It’s easy to find a camping spot to suit any interest in a state as large as Queensland. With 7,000 km of Pacific Ocean coastline and a richly diverse interior of everything from ancient rainforests to arid outback landscapes, you'll find plenty of options. Choose from some 1,000 national parks, forests and other protected areas, and a host of other camping sites. From the golden beaches and green hinterland of the Gold Coast in the south to the rugged loneliness of Cape York to the north, and the extraordinary Great Barrier Reef offshore, campers are spoiled for choice.

With the state capital Brisbane as your starting point, head to Queensland’s first National Park, Lamington National Park (established in 1915), for cooler climes and ancient Gondwana rainforests. The south-east’s subtropical climate means lots of sunshine, perfect for any camping trip.Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, with island and mainland camping to suit all, with a choice of 19 National Parks. Don flippers and snorkel and hit the water, explore the 165-million-year-old Daintree Rainforest, or head inland to the wonders of Undara Volcanic National Park to camp near ancient lava tubes.Living up to its name, the Sunshine Coast basks in its many natural attractions, from 100km of beaches to forested hinterland. Spot koalas in Noosa National Park, take a kayak up-river to camp in the Noosa Everglades, or head north along the beach in the Great Sandy National Park. The volcanic peaks of the Glass House Mountains National Park offer hikers and climbers a challenge.From Airlie Beach, take off for the green islands of Whitsunday Islands National Park or stick to the coast, exploring Conway National Park, where you may be joined by rock wallabies. The best islands for hiking and camping are Whitsunday Island and Hook Island.Straddling the Tropic of Capricorn, this somewhat under-rated region has much to offer. Dunblane is a wool sheep grazing property located just off the Landsborough (Matilda) Highway 8km west of Barcaldine. We welcome camping guests and we're happy to share our place with others. Only one booking allowed at each site so you will have the site to yourself, although you are able to book so friends can also stay with you. Pull in, light a fire, watch for falling stars, walk the dog and let the kids explore. Check the sunsets that never fail. Amenities depend on the site booked - check the options listed. You will have access to our beautiful peaceful surroundings, with adequate shelter under some lovely big trees park your camper or pitch a swag. We also have a nice running creek that you can enjoy watching our many wildlife that are present throughout the creek, fish, eels and turtles. It's truly a very private and relaxing spot to chill out and enjoy camping for a few days or whatever suits your needs while passing the area. Plenty of fantastic swimming holes nearby including Josephine falls and Babinda boulders very popular spots for tourist and the locals. Site 1 right down on the creek large grass flat space big enough for two families to set up camp. The creek runs around the outside so there are a number of viewing points to see the wildlife mentioned above. A set of solar lights hang over the firepit area allowing for more light while cooking on our wonderful swinging hotplate BBQ. Site 2 Our newer spot work in progress not so ideal for camper trailers. your situated under our tree line away from the main creek. A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night. Swimming in the creek is not recommended. So please check by internal message before confirming your booking that way we can confirm a spot while discussing your needs to ensure you have a clear view of your camping area. Onsite we have our shared outhouse porta toilet which is positioned in the middle of both camping areas for everyone's convenience. "Bereena" is a sheep, cattle, and cropping, family-owned and run farm. Bereena is a third-generation property and is approximately 7,000 acres in size. It's the perfect place to experience the real Australian outback, and catch a glimpse of what working life on the land is like. We are situated in South West Qld approx 315km from Toowoomba and a scenic 5 hour drive west of Brisbane. We are located 14km out of the small village town of Talwood. Talwood has a small general store which triples as a coffee shop, take away and post office in case you are after a refreshment, a burger, or need to post a letter. We loved our family stay at the shed shearing farm and will defentinley be back in future for such a unique exsperince! David (Host) was very caring a accomadating during our stay and kept us informed with the weather. The hot baths were amazing, nice to relax in while hearing, seing sheep and watching the sun go down was very refreshing after a long day travelling. There is a few goats that like to be around your camp site and are friendly.

Beautiful little private spot next to the creek filled with fish and turtles. There were small rubbish and recycling bins provided, as well as an outhouse with a portable toilet which was kept very clean. Couldn’t swim in the creek as there has been recent croc sighting nearby but still great to camp by.

We had an absolutely incredible time at Dunblane. From welcoming messages giving clear directions for how to access our campsite and facilities to his arrival shortly after ours, David was a great host and actively involved my two young teenaged boys and I in some genuine farm work, helping him to sort his sheep into their yards. After some pretty intensive labour we soaked our hard working bones in his deep artesian baths that had to be filled up in the afternoon to allow them time to cool for the evening - that’s how hot the artesian water is! Not going to lie, the amenities - as is clearly stated from the outset - are not terribly appealing! We used our own toilet and shower. I wouldn’t recommend relying on those that are there, although they are available if need be. Best to go out fully self contained and just enjoy the genuine farm experience, the gorgeous sunset over David’s expansive land, and the relaxing hot baths at the end of the day. We would do it all over again and will be back if we ever get the chance.

Miyuki and Larry have curated a very special spot next to a beautiful creek. Feeding the turtles was a highlight, as was the massage my partner received from Miyuki, she said it was amazing and perfectly relaxing. They have a communal portable toilet that is immaculately kept. It was extremely private, we could have been miles from anyone. 10/10 would recommend 👌

We had a fabulous two nights at Dunblane station. David was so nice and welcoming. The artesian baths were great! The sheering was happening during our stay, which really added to our experience! Our little boys got to cuddle baby lambs and get involved with the workers. Would definitely stay again!

Our stay at Dunblane was such a wonderful experience. We stayed at the shearing shed and arrived at around 5pm just in time to set up and enjoy the sunset from the artesian baths. Then as the sun went down and the sky darkened you get to experience the most amazing sky filled with stars. There was no one else around which made it even more spectacular. We sent David a message as we were arriving and he popped down to welcome us and tell us a bit about his farm. Everything was really well thought out and they have plenty of info on site for you to drive straight in and set up and to learn about the way of life on their property. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area. Thanks David!
