In the kitchen area you will also find a pool table and dart board and arcade game for your use.
If you choose to bring your horse you will find stabling or yards under Extras as begin your booking. The cost can be seen as you view the sites. The stables are rubber floored, meaning you use minimal sawdust therefore minimal dust. They are equipped with automatic waterers and feed bins. The yards are separated so that the horses can't reach each other from one yard to the other. Please ensure these areas are cleaned before you leave. There are rakes and wheelbarrows provided near the arena and at the end of the stables for your convenience.
Our sites are best suited to self contained camping but there is shower and toilet availability on the property. There is a dump site situated in Crescent St Childers

Keep in mind from December to March we have hot, rainy summers. For the adventurous campers who use swags/tents, we suggest a stretcher and a gazebo with walls for a little comfort. Some areas need 4wd also.

Be mindful around all animals as they get to know you, be smart please. Kids can bring bikes, must be supervised at all times, no screaming or running.
Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉
Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe.
Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties.
Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature, we guarantee you will have an amazing experience.
6 Kms in at our historic Childers there is a Woolworths, IGA, great pubs for lunch, cafes and bakeries, plus a swimming pool, museum, snakes down under and Woodgate beach 25 mins away.

Buxton Bush Retreat is a privately owned parcel of 17 acres located 7 kilometers (6 minute drive) from the quaint seaside village of Buxton.
The front 5 acres is 'home' to Kerrie and Brian, their two puppies (Jazz and Jaxi) and two cats (Bangers and Mash).
The remainder of the property (about 12 acres) comprises of flat, well grassed areas and natural bushland.
There are eight(8) well maintained, large, flat camping areas and each has its own fire pit. An initial supply of firewood will be provided.
There is no water or power throughout these camping areas, hence they are only suitable for "fully self contained" motor homes and caravans.
Apart from humans, dogs and cats, the property is inhabited by kangaroos and a variety of birdlife.
The small township of Buxton is home to a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. There is one general store which sells most consumables, including alcohol. They also serve up meals every Wednesday. Buxton has a great little boat ramp on the Isis River which provides easy access for river fishing or to the Coral Sea for ocean fishing.
So, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable QUIET and relaxing campsite with not too many people around then Buxton Bush Retreat many be just the place for you. No 'midges' or sand flies or dirt/sand camping sites .... all sites are flat and fully grassed and maintained.

For your convenience, our well-equipped camp kitchen includes a fridge, toaster, kettle, electric frypan, and microwave, along with all the necessary cutlery and crockery. Please remember to clean up after using the kitchen to keep it welcoming for everyone.
In the kitchen area you will also find a pool table and dart board and arcade game for your use.
If you choose to bring your horse you will find stabling or yards under Extras as begin your booking. The cost can be seen as you view the sites. The stables are rubber floored, meaning you use minimal sawdust therefore minimal dust. They are equipped with automatic waterers and feed bins. The yards are separated so that the horses can't reach each other from one yard to the other. Please ensure these areas are cleaned before you leave. There are rakes and wheelbarrows provided near the arena and at the end of the stables for your convenience.
Our sites are best suited to self contained camping but there is shower and toilet availability on the property. There is a dump site situated in Crescent St Childers

Keep in mind from December to March we have hot, rainy summers. For the adventurous campers who use swags/tents, we suggest a stretcher and a gazebo with walls for a little comfort. Some areas need 4wd also.

Be mindful around all animals as they get to know you, be smart please. Kids can bring bikes, must be supervised at all times, no screaming or running.
Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉
Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe.
Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties.
Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature, we guarantee you will have an amazing experience.
6 Kms in at our historic Childers there is a Woolworths, IGA, great pubs for lunch, cafes and bakeries, plus a swimming pool, museum, snakes down under and Woodgate beach 25 mins away.

Buxton Bush Retreat is a privately owned parcel of 17 acres located 7 kilometers (6 minute drive) from the quaint seaside village of Buxton.
The front 5 acres is 'home' to Kerrie and Brian, their two puppies (Jazz and Jaxi) and two cats (Bangers and Mash).
The remainder of the property (about 12 acres) comprises of flat, well grassed areas and natural bushland.
There are eight(8) well maintained, large, flat camping areas and each has its own fire pit. An initial supply of firewood will be provided.
There is no water or power throughout these camping areas, hence they are only suitable for "fully self contained" motor homes and caravans.

The small township of Buxton is home to a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. There is one general store which sells most consumables, including alcohol. They also serve up meals every Wednesday. Buxton has a great little boat ramp on the Isis River which provides easy access for river fishing or to the Coral Sea for ocean fishing.

Had a lovely time staying here, all amenities were clean and it was very peaceful! Sharon and Wayne were lovely hosts. Felt super comfortable and was amazing to see the animals and be so close! 10/10 stay.

Honestly, such a great experience! The cows were so awesome, and they are clearly very cared for. The friendly farm dogs made us feel very safe walking around the property.

Buxton Bush Camp was perfect. Danny and Bushy are friendly, welcoming hosts. If a peaceful bush and estuary camp is your thing then this is for you. Hot showers and toilets available too. We will be back. Thanks for having us!

Fabulous find while we visited family in the area. We are 2Ad in a caravan & loved the spacious peaceful bush setting along with having potable water available. Lovely family friendly property with the small farmyard & fairyland walk for children to enjoy. Thankyou Susan, we're excited for your plans & hope to visit again soon ;)

Fabulous spot. Single camp spot with complete privacy, you can not see anyone else at all. The hosts were very nice people and not intrusive. Flat, plenty of turning room, extensive mowed paths, fire place with fire wood already in it. We will be back for sure, thank you for having us

Highly recommend staying here, is a beautiful place to stay. Loved that there's goats, cows , chickens and ducks roaming and the Fairy track and garden is an awesome idea. Was easy access just have off highway. We have a big 19mtr bus and had plenty room to park it with water access. I even got to see and catch my first ever firefly. Hosts are so friendly and welcoming. Thankyou Susan, Vincent and Eli for making our stay a wonderful one.

We had such a lovely night at Woodlands Farmstay - large bush sites with firepits, feels very peaceful and secluded despite being so easily accessible from the highway and so close to town. Beautiful view of the stars at night too!
Susan and Vinnie are fabulous hosts, really friendly and helpful, and having a chance to interact with the gorgeous farm animals was a highlight for us!
We'll definitely be back and we can't wait to see how the place grows 😊

Great little camp area there’s about 6 sites right on the river with 2 big flat areas up the hill has a small boat ramp but only usable at high tide
The only down side we had was the usual clown that feels the need to run a generator all day apart from that was a nice spot

I couldn’t recommend this place more. All of the sites are spread out so you aren’t close to random people. The showers have awesome hot water. There is plenty for the kids to do and Chrissy & Duane do so well to get the kids involved in the animal feeding. Great location only 10 minutes from Childers but you still feel like you are in the bush. 10/10!
