Great proximity to the city for a one or two nighter! Camp site 4 has a next door neighbour dog that barks a fair bit when you arrive but he settles down. Otherwise, nice spot and peaceful! We were able to arrive early and leave late which was a nice bonus. There’s lots of kindling around, too.

Damien and Charly’s property is incredible. We had a short stay at the private canyon view site and the view and amenities were some of the best we’ve ever experienced at a camp site.

We enjoyed our winter stay, fire pits available great to keep you warm and roast some marshmallows or mini Krankies a new treat for our lot. amble variety of fruit and veg to walk through and pick. very popular for the day trippers, The camping space was adequate, absolutely massive, allows you have large groups and or set up away camp from other campers for a little privacy. safe for kids and toddlers, with entertainment of farm animals and tractor rides only one shower but if you book, it works out well, it is a bit of a walk to amenities, nice stroll under the moon light or short drive if you don't have other options in your camp set up. amble variety of fruit and veg to walk through and pick. very popular for the day trippers, we will be looking forward to booking again for the summer fruits

We had a great time camping over the long weekend. We appreciated the flat site which made setup easy and the location in the middle of the orchard was very nice. We had a fantastic stay at the RV3 camping spot. The site itself was quiet, spacious, and offered a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. Even though the weather was quite chilly during our visit, having a fire made it feel warm and cosy — it really added to the experience. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. A special mention goes to the toilet facilities — they were spotless every time we used them, which is such a bonus when camping. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend RV3 to anyone looking for a quiet, well-kept place to camp with a great atmosphere and excellent hospitality.

Charley and Damien’s farm was absolutely perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, even though short. Charley personally welcomed us and was so friendly. Facilities were great. The whole camp had a nice communal feel and it was great to see all the kids running around and having fun. We stayed on site 14, which was located further from the other camps, but had a lovely element of privacy and tree screening. We also found it more sheltered from the elements compared to the sites up on the ridge above the canyon. We brought our own wood, however found lots of pieces on the ground to use also. We will definitely stay again, if in the area.

We loved camping at Quorragami over the June long weekend. The views were incredible and we got to enjoy the most beautiful sunsets! Facilities were great, very clean and well maintained. Charly was a wonderful host and made sure to come around and check in to see that everything was ok. If you use Waze for directions, be careful, as it’ll send you down Mill Lane when you put the address in. I’d suggest putting Barraba Lane in to your search instead as that will take you to the right place. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Cranky Rock Hunter Valley

We had a fantastic weekend camping at *Cranky Rock*! The campsites are spacious and thoughtfully laid out, giving you plenty of room and privacy from other campers. The toilets were clean and conveniently located throughout the property. While the shower wasn’t accessible during our stay, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the grounds. We loved the friendly cows and their calves, and even spotted a sleepy wombat. Another big plus is the location — only 10 minutes from Wollombi Tavern, which is perfect for an arvo beer or a meal out. A special thank you to Pam and Lindsay, who were both incredibly friendly and welcoming. They greeted us on arrival and kindly guided us to our site, making everything easy and stress-free. Would absolutely recommend Cranky Rock to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-kept camping spot. Thanks again for a lovely weekend!

Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river. Destroyed in the March and July 2022 floods, we have now re-built and are looking forward to welcoming back our guests. Bring your caravans, tent or swag - all are welcome! Unfortunately, boats are not. Relax and enjoy the serenity whilst being only 1 hour from Sydney. We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. Groups are welcome here to enjoy the time with their family and friends, play a little music and relax by the river. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice! We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water. Fires are only permitted when allowed, in the designated areas only.

We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large spaces with varying distance between sites to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If you are planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. Welcome Ayr Farm Riverside Camp, a working farm with river access. We can accommodate both small and large groups with sites just steps away from the river. There is power and water you can access, however there are no toilets, so campers must be self contained and leave no trace. A 4wd is recommended if you want to camp by the river, but there are plenty of 2wd accessible areas to camp nearby overlooking the river. I run sheep and cattle on my farm, set in a picturesque part of the Hunter Valley bordered by the Hunter River, which feels far away from it all but is close to both small communities and larger hubs. In addition to the sheep and beef cattle I have a small dairy herd of 8 jersey cows, milking once a day, which you would be welcome to watch. I also have chickens, working dogs and a small market garden which includes a greenhouse, glasshouse and seed-raising area, as well as an abundance of native animals and birdlife on the farm. The property is a short drive to shops, cafes and pubs, quaint country villages and Maitland/East Maitland with city amenities. The beaches of Newcastle are an hour away with train service from Maitland and the many attractions and events of the Hunter Valley are on your doorstep, with Sydney being easily accessible for weekend adventures. Nestled under the Watagan mountains escarpment in the Hunter valley, the property has some amazing views in all directions, but still remains secluded and hidden from view. The property has been selectively cleared to maintain a balance of open land and untouched bushland which has a boundary to the Watagans National Park. The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts. The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit! The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit. We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter. This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site. 16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin. The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife. There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase. There are 2 dams that can be fished on request (catch and release cod and bass)

La Cascina is a small property on a hill surrounded by trees and bushland. There are two main camping areas which would suite tent and small to medium van/car camping. There is access to neighbouring bushland with nice short walks available in the area. Only 20 minutes by car to Newcastle CBD, 10 minutes by car to Redhead Beach and 5 minutes by car to Lake Macquarie. La Cascina is a great spot to stop overnight on a road trip or to get away for the weekend to relax. We have no toilets so please bring your own. The access to the property is a steep sealed driveway. Site 1 is an open site with plenty of shade. The area is flat. More suited to larger camping setups. This site is less private. There is vision of the neighbouring property and an overflow campsite 50 meters away. Site 2 is a more uneven surface area which is better for smaller vans and tents. Redhead Beach is the closest dog beach 10 minutes by car. Croudace Bay is a dog park on the lake which is 5 minutes by car. This is a family owned acreage that brings the best parts of environmental living with the benefits of being close to the coast and a city. A very long time ago it was the site of a quarry. The nature has returned and we are left with a beautiful forested acreage.

Dharug National Park

Dharug National Park encompasses bushland north of Hawkesbury River, comprising dense forests, sloping mountains, and steep sandstone cliffs. The diverse landscape gives way to walking and biking tracks that lead to historic sites and opportunities to glimpse indigenous wildlife, including cockatoos and yellow-bellied gliders. Old Great North Road, a historic site that is part of the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage property, consists of a 9-km loop built by 720 convicts from 1826 to 1836. Campers can explore the Aboriginal heritage and stay a few days in the natural wonder at nearby tent and caravan campsites that provide potable water, bathroom facilities, and firepits, or try bush camping for a more immersive experience.

Brisbane Water National Park

Brisbane Water National Park stays true to its name with easy access to coastal waters for kayaking, fishing, and beachside picnics. Spend some time out of the water too on cycling and walking routes that lead to flowering fields and ancient wonders. The area is also known for its Aboriginal heritage sites and is home to hundreds of rock engravings, rock paintings, and foreshore middens. Visit the Bulgandry Aboriginal site at Kariong to get a prime example of the beautiful rock art the park offers. Bouddi National Park

Yarramalong and its surrounding area see a peak in temperature in the warmer spring and summer months. January is typically the warmest month with an average high of 27°C. Spring brings blooming wildflowers to the area, attracting campers from far and wide. July is the coldest month of the year with an average high of about 16.5°C. However, August campers avoid the harsher humidity of the hotter months while still enjoying plenty of sun. Humpback whales also make their annual migration from May to July.
