Brightwater sits beside Olney State Forest and Kuluwan Flora Reserve. It is a 50-acre farm with a lovely spring-fed dam, with our nearby campsite. The site contains van parking, an open pavilion, an open deck by the stream, a fire pit, and a dunny. It is private and secluded, and with just one group staying at a time, you are guaranteed the space to yourselves. There are many beautiful walking and bike trails in the area. Lots of wildlife to meet, including water dragons, wild ducks, and pythons, to name a few. There is also nearby evidence of the original occupants, the Darkinjung people. You are also welcome to bring a couple of horses! There's a safe paddock with a trough and nice trails in the area to explore. The Kulnura General Store and bottleshop is just 9km down the road for basic supplies.This site is by a lovely spring-fed dam and surrounded by bushland. It's around .5k from the main house and is completely private. You can swim in the dam, lie on the deck, scramble along the creek or walk/bike on the many trails in the area. Lots to explore! Pets are welcome. If you wish you could also bring a couple of horses. There's a paddock with a trough and nice riding in the area. Cath also has free range chooks and a garden so there are seasonal veggies and eggs if you want them.

Spring Dam
Very private. Nice dam for swimming. Provided lots of firewood. Handy to have a shelter when it rained. We had a great time. Would definitely return, hopefully in less of a circada mega year as the noise they made this time was intense!

lovely private camp spot but a beautiful dam - great for a dip in the heat. camp fire and a great dunny provided. we will be back im sure!

Cicada’s in Summer are next level
Spring Dam is a great winter spot 90min from Sydney, especially with both an open and under cover deck (rain), all next to a private dam. The composting Dunny is a great convenience along with the fire pit, and ample wood. Listing says potable water, but wouldn’t drink as it’s unfiltered rain water with tadpoles. Do check with the property owner as to current Cicada nose level, as your surrounded by trees and the screeching can be unbearable at times. You can hardly hear them at the owners house, but at the campsite it can be overwhelmingly loud. Fortunately we had ample ear plugs, which we even slept with as the Cicadas start up at 4:30 am and only calm down around 8:30pm!! We’ve camped at Spring Dam in winter, and it’s totally different (no Cicadas)

Wonderful camp 🏕
Loved camping at Cath’s place. It’s probably one of the most beautiful and relaxing places we have been. The fact that it’s one site and you can bring some friends is great. The undercover area is perfect for when it’s raining and the water and other open deck is great. Wood is provided so basically all you have to do is show up and relax. There’s a great sunny and a spring dam for cooling off… we’ll be back!!
