Situated at the end of the tranquil & historic Yarramalong Valley on the banks of Brush Creek. Abundant with native fauna & flora it is a great location to explore the Central Coast Hinterland from, or plenty of room if you want to stay put relax and recharge.The only campsite in our 10 acre paddock, sharing the space with our cow, bull and other wildlife. The site is mowed and fenced, situated on a large bend in Brush Creek not far from where it joins the Wyong River. Local Cafe/Restaurant 5km away [xxxxxxxx] Easy access to Olney State Forest, Watagan National Park and Central Coast Hinterland including attractions like Amazement Fun Park & Zoo, Treetops Adventure Park, Somersby Falls & more The site has a fire pit with firewood supplied. An old canoe and surf ski's to explore the creek with. Rustic bush seats & table Some sporting equipment for kids to play with. Telstra, Optus coverage (no Vodafone) Fishing for Bass or Eels is allowed (some old gear supplied), yabbie nets are not due to platypus in the creek. Motorbikes, shooting or parties are not allowed on the property.

Dane is a great host, he was welcoming and had lots of firewood stocked up ready for us. The area itself is like paradise. Surrounded by nature, with beautiful birds and a beautiful setting. I lok forward to booking again in a few weeks.

A perfect quiet spot. We really appreciated the plentiful supply of firewood for our 2 cold wintery nights. Our dog loved being able to roam around. The camping supplies were a pleasant surprise.

A perfect getaway. Running creek, camp fire set up with wood supplied even with a lovely surprise of marshmallows to roast. Abundance of bird life, animals and a great space for our dog to run around exploring.

Great spot. Peaceful and back to nature with lots of birds and stars. Host has thought of everything seating, firewood, emergency kit, and activities of different types. Great directions, easy access for 2wd, fenced off for off leash dogs. Can’t wait to come back in warmer months to try the canoe on the river.

Awesome place. Private setting very quiet, lots of activities supplied by host plus emergency kit. Firewood supplied. The best Hipcamp I have been to dogs loved it, right on edge of the creek. I can’t wait to go back in warmer months to use the canoe. Great hosts, easy access with great directions.

We spent a great overnight stay at Danes place and felt like we were a million miles away from the rest of the world. Being winter all the fire wood was stacked up right near the fire area and we made good use of it. Will definitely be going back in summer to enjoy the creek and beautiful area under the trees.

Such an amazing spot. Total privacy with a beautiful outlook. Dane is the perfect host and has really put some thought and effort into setting up this great site. Everything you could ask for is catered for. Dane even has a supply of firewood at the site. The bush furniture is a very cool festive as well. This was our second visit and will definitely be regulars at platypus bend. I even caught a glimpse of a platypus on our first stay. Thanks Dane. Look forward to our next visit.

We had a lovely few days in a beautiful slice of the central coast hinterland. Platypus Bend is highly recommended. Following a lovely drive through the Yaramalong Valley we arrived at Platypus end and were greeted by Dane. He directed us to cross the paddock to the camping area next to the creek, a really nice spot. Easy level spot for our ute and small van to set up next to. Dane thoughtfully provided firewood and had a fire ready for us, making for a great evening cooking and eating by the fire. The sitting logs around the fireplace, the tables and chairs made for an enjoyable stay. Also provided were sports equipment and board games if you or your family needed something to do. We enjoyed the serenity, the bush and a glass of wine. Thank you Dane for sharing your wonderful place and the care you have taken to provide a great escape. Highly recommend Platypus Bend, I know we will be back.

The first tree when you get into camp is a Sydney blue gum which has a sign on it to say not to camp under it. But every tree there is a widow maker. We had light winds and small branches fell For us we were to nervous to stay there . We left a day early as it wasn't worth staying under the window makers. Creek muddy and no flow. I hate leaving a bad review but need to tell others of widow makers and can't swim in the chocolate milk.

My guests and I loved this site! The directions to the camp were very easy to follow and the variety of goods left by the owners made our hearts so warm to find when we arrived. We had the best time with our dogs off lead running around and swimming in the creek. Would 100% recommend!!

A lovely peaceful spot to camp.Owner supplied lots of outdoor equipment for the campers to use (Tennis racquets, fishing rods, firewood and marshmellows). Our dogs loved the big area for them to roam off leash.

10/10 place for someone like me who does solo(ish) camping with 2 high energy dogs. It’s truely all to yourself. Ive worked remotely 2 days from the camp site, what a lovely experience (Telstra network is solid, Vodafone not so much). This was my second time camping here. 10+ years of camping, I’ve always had this rule - don’t repeat a campsite, explore a new one instead. But this one broke that rule for me. Made me and my dogs truely love camping here and I don’t mind repeating.

2nd visit, love this spot. Close to home but feels a million miles away. Dogs have a great time foraging around and we feel its very safe for them there. Nice flat surface, easy access for our 19’ van. See you soon Platypus Bend
