I had the most tranquil night in my small off road caravan. Just pulled up in the house paddock, had a ride on my bike, brought honey from the neighbours and enjoyed the sunset. Saw Black Cockatoos flying overhead. Thanks Meredith for sharing your serenity!

1 night at The Hatch Farm - Port Macquarie

Well kept, wide open space on the Maria River. Saw a beautiful sunset in the west and sunrise over the river (you don't get to see both in many places) The camp kitchen and amenities are rustic but efficient. The animals are gorgeous. The farm dogs are cute and friendly. Susan and Bernard were lovely hosts. We didn't get to make use of the kayaks on offer but saw other people out on the river kayaking. We only stayed one night which was Monday so we had the whole place to ourselves. Our dog loved it and now identifies as a farm dog :) Susan and Bernard also let us have some friends call in for a cuppa who were on their way North. They loved it too. If you like animals and nature, The Hatch is a great place to stay

We had a dream weekend at The Hatch! Fresh eggs on arrival and greeted by Host Susan who walked us to our site. Sit was MASSIVE and level, perfect for our 18ft caravan with water views! The "petting" farm is a real treat :) with chickens, ducks and rabbits all there to enjoy not to mention the friendly collies that came and said hello :) Toilets are on site if needed and at each site has a little shelter area (very nice if tenting). Rained a lot during our stay but the grounds held well, no mud! Just nice grass. We will be back to this amazing place and its now on our regular list :) Thanks Susan and Bernard! Wonderfull weekend!

This was a brilliant spot. I stayed just the one night on my way up the coast. Enjoyed hanging out with the wallabies in the rain :) It was really convenient to the highway, but far enough away that there wasn't road noise.

We had a great stay here - Bernard & Susan were so helpful and accommodating with what we needed. The place is stunning and so peaceful and the animals were a bonus - especially their gorgeous dogs Jack and Sally (there’s more but they’re the ones who took a major liking to us)! The shower was powerful and was just what we needed to freshen ourselves up. Thanks again and hopefully we’ll be back the next time we’re in the area 😊

This place is stunning! Tranquility of fresh running river over small rapids in a farm setting. Hosts (and Cheryl’s brother) were quick to answer questions. Wood for fire at a very economical cost. New pit toilets were the Gucci of all loos. Will definitely be returning and as a single 59 year woman, I felt safe and comfortable in this amazing location 🙏

5 nights at The Hatch Farm - Port Macquarie

We loved camping at the Hatch Farm. The sites are enormous, flat and grassy. With a shelter shed on each site. Our dog had a blast hanging out with the farm dogs. Fishing is right on your door step. The showers and toilet were very clean and tidy. The owners were very friendly.. Highly recommend this camp site.

Fantastic place to stay. Owners were very welcoming. Even had the whole place to ourselves for one of the days and night. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Got to try out our new kayak and even caught a mud crab. Will definitely come back again

Jali farmstay is a beautiful well kept place. Hosts were accomodating and friendly. Facilities neat and clean. Plenty of grassland to camp by the river. Jetty is a great spot for fishing or just watching wildlife. Fire pits were provided and fire wood is available for purchase ( generous amount and well priced). We will be back. .

"The Riverbank" is only 7.5 kilometres and an easy 8 minute drive off the M1. The rich green land supports a small beef raising enterprise and the cattle graze in surrounding paddocks. Pipe Dream Bush Camp - Dog Friendly

If you want to avoid the crowds our property is only 10 minutes drive to great local surf and fishing beaches at Crescent Head. There is an abundance of bird life, the odd kangaroos and wallabies, and other wildlife. There is a melaleuca forest that children are welcome to play in and build a cubby house, and 2 pretty little dams to catch yabbies, and for dogs to enjoy a swim. The property where camping is provided is approx 20 acres with a limit of 10 groups so you can find your own little piece of paradise. There is plenty of fire wood for you to collect on the property on your way in. Please help yourself to any fallen timber for firewood but please do not cut any standing trees down. When checking out, ensure you properly extinguish fires and return any unused firewood to the bush. Dogs are welcome to be here off leash as long as they are well socialised and reasonably obedient. There is large areas for them to run freely and dams to swim in. It is accessible via a 2WD dirt road, even with a little wet weather. If rainfall is extreme we recommend 4wd's. The property is completely off grid so we have a 'leave it as you found it' approach. This means you will need a camp toilet, and to take all of your rubbish with you. We are a rural property so do not have rubbish collection services. (Fees apply for any left behind rubbish). Happy camping!

100 acre farm of mixed native bush and orchard plantings, with a mixture of secluded camp areas for campers with their own amenities and sites with facilities. The Woodland Lakeside campsite has a single compost toilet, and the Woodland Ridgetop sites share a camp kitchen with compost toilets and hot showers. We have two beautiful dams that are great for kayaking and swimming, and creek frontage where you can fish. Beautiful views of Yarrahapinni Mountain to the east and hills out to the west. There are 40 acres of bushland to go walkabout. Geese and ducks free range the property and feeding time visits can be arranged. We are just 1.5km of single track gravel road to the Pacific Highway with good access for all types of vehicles. There is a choice of private campsites either by the dam or the creek with no other campers in sight! We also have a multi site area at the Woodland Ridgetop with a camp kitchen, compost toilets and showers. This will be available to be booked as a large group area or as 3 individual sites. Later in 2024 we will also have beautiful glamping bell tent sites available. Drinking water (tank water) is available from an outdoor tap at the farmhouse, as long as we have had sufficient rainfall. Please check in advance if you require water. Campers MUST have their own self contained amenities for the Creek Camp, and the 2 Parking Sites, and leave no trace. There is a toilet dump point for chemical toilets in Macksville, 10 mins away. All he sites are dog friendly as long as all dog poo is cleared up. 20 mins to Scotts Head and Grassy Head beaches and Yarrahapinni National Park. State Forest on the doorstep great for mountain bikes, and with motorbike trails heading out to the west. The farm is 5 minutes from the Eungai Buffallo Farm cafe. There is also farm produce available for sale - fresh eggs for breakfast!

Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Please note that all animal interactions are self-led (including our animal nursery), and children must be supervised by their parents/carers. All of our sites are secluded as our property is large, we invite you to our peaceful piece of countryside for a self contained camping trip with all the convenience of town just minutes away. Cameron's Falls is a historic site, the 'falls', really just gentle rapids, are the original river crossing site for horse drawn vehicles to travel from Port Macquarie/Wauchope inland to Beechwood and beyond. Today we are a hobby farm with cows, horses - we invite you to say hello, but please don't feed any of the animals. If we are here to greet you on arrival you can fill up with potable rain water at our cottage. The Hastings is still tidal at our place so the access and flow varies throughout the day - we generally take our littlest kids down at low tide. Swim, fish or explore our hiking trails though the old growth riparian vegetation along winding creeks. If you are into birds you will see plenty here - in the last 12 months we have counted nearly 100 different species on our property!

Heartwood Farm is a centrally located 120 acres on the Mid-North Coast - about halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, only 1.5 kms off Pacific Highway, 25 mins to Port Macquarie, 15 Mins to Kempsey, 30 minutes to Crescent Head and 45 mins to South West Rocks. We are off grid and live close to nature and enjoy the abundance that provides. We have been building and developing for the last few years. We are still a work in progress. There are three Brumbies that live over the fence and 5 other horses that will no doubt come and say hello. They are all friendly, especially if you have a carrot. There are also a lot of kangaroos and wallabies, some quite friendly as they have been raised by our neighbour who does animal rescue. There are also a lot of different species of birds, including the much-loved Black Cockatoos which are in abundance here. We have also seen turtles, frilled neck lizards, diamond pythons, red belly black snakes (rarely) and goannas.

Wingham has award winning coffee & dining, golf club, town hotel with great meals & live bands most weekends, swimming pool (seasonal), bowling club, monthly markets, Coles, fuel, chemist, rifle range, clay pigeon shooting, famous brush walk to enjoy the resident bats & much more. Shared camp kitchen available with gas oven/stove & some pots, pans, plates, utensils etc. Camp kitchen has table & chairs & wash-up facilities with tank water. Outside Solar shower also set up where you can gaze at the sky above but private so modesty is protected! We have two full dams that host our 2 ducks, free range chooks (collect your own fresh eggs daily-not available in winter), 5 guinea fowl a couple of farm cats & awesome birds-Rainbow Lorikeets, King Parrots, Crimson Rosellas and Kookaburras. We also have a couple of swamp hen families. A number of fruit bats from Wingham brush reach us most nights at dusk. We have also seen an owl near the chicken coop & if you're lucky you may spot the kangaroos in the paddock. We welcome tents, campervans, trailer tents and caravans but you need to provide your own drinking water- outside solar shower is available that can be filled up at the rainwater tank by the camp kitchen. We do have 2 x portapotty and 2 x Thunderbox type toilet that can be hired. The price includes the final emptying, Wingham showgrounds has a dump point if you need to empty before. The Paddock suits all vehicles- Max 6 parties at once. We also have more private spot Woodland Area which suits just one party but vehicle access is a couple of mins walk and further to the camp kitchen. Fires allowed but only in contained firepits and off ground. We currently have 5 firepit presently to use at your own site (must be kept off ground on bricks provided). Fires not allowed during total fire bans Take your camping chairs to the edge of 1 of 2 dams and watch our pet ducks. Pets on leashes are welcome. Plenty to see and do around here.
