Your ideal getaway - limited, private camp sites just a few K's off the Oxley Highway for a quiet overnight stopover? ...or maybe you'd like to spend a few days chillaxing in a quiet and secure location (we have a locked gate and provide access code). Here you can set up your base camp to safely leave and do day trips to get out and explore the beautiful surrounding area. Only 45min from Port Macquarie, 30min to Wauchope and just 10min to Long Flat where there's a Pub for takeaway, a social drink as wellas food and sometimes live music on weekends. The General Store has general supplies, takeaway, PO and fuel. Retaining the peace and tranquility of our property is important to us and why the number of sites and campers is limited. Although there are designated camping spots we're happy to be flexible if you arrive and would like to relocate within our extensive 'camping area' ...depending on weather conditions and respecting the personal space of other campers. We have livestock (currently horses) running throughout the property - some can be very friendly but please don't approach or feed them. We prefer no dogs but will allow if dogs remain well controlled, tethered or on a leash - this is for the safety of your pet as well as the livestock and wildlife. You will see and hear all kinds of wildlife, particularly morning and evening when they are most active. There are no amenities, rubbish or water facilities so come prepared, take what you brought and leave it as you found it. There is one only port-a-loo with pop-up-tent available for hire if required. PLEASE NOTE: Fire restrictions from September 1st and usually continue during Summer. Fire Permits are not required for fires for the purpose of cooking food, provided that: > the fire is in a permanently constructed fireplace. (or fire pit) > at a site surrounded by ground that is cleared of all combustible materials for a distance of at least two metres all around. > the fire is completely extinguished before leaving.

Great long weekend at Mistan Valley. Exactly as described, easy to get to, clean campsites, quiet and beautiful. Despite the rain Steve had so much timber prepared for us we still managed campfires every night. Thanks for having us we will be back. The kids absolutely loved the horses.

Quiet, nothing wrong nor outstandin

Stay was okay. Large open area around 300m from very quiet dirt road. Requires not insignificant effort to level up. No view to speak of. Plenty of birds along with a few roos and horses. Had a fire 2 nights which was great. Heap of timber piled up for use but would need a chainsaw to cut it up.

Beautiful & serene stay

We booked last minute after our original Easter booking was canceled. Steve was an excellent host and communicated well about the property condition due to rain and the possibility of getting in without any trouble. We’re really glad we went the extra distance from Sydney as the property was absolutely beautiful and we had the whole place to ourselves. Our dogs were able to play in the creek, which was close enough to listen to at night. Evenings spent around a fire and then the misty mornings turned into beautiful sunny days!

A Sunny spot - The Treeline

Do yourself a favour and book into this site for a stay. Lovely views over the property. A lovely quiet and peaceful location where the sounds of the birds, cicadas and frogs will be all you will hear. Steve is excellent to deal with and nothing was too much problem. He made the stay very easy. The security locking at the gate ensures peace of mind, and plenty of firewood at the woodpile for cutting meant a campfire was easy. With full mobile service this site is excellent for quiet peaceful escapes for those who are able to ‘work from home’. Will definitely be back for more ‘working holidays’.

Views, privacy and horses!

Great property owners! Offered plenty of firewood and a portable toilet aswell. location was beautiful, nice hill views and a nice river. Plenty of open space and privacy. Only an hour from Port Macquarie. Perfect NYE camping trip :)
