If you've ever dreamed of running your own farm stay or eco-tourism venture, this could be your chance. The property has the 1.5km of this beautiful river frontage you've been enjoying, platypus habitat, established gardens, and all the infrastructure to continue (or expand) what we've built here. The homestead has dual living areas - perfect for hosting guests while keeping your private family space. There's also productive pasture land, irrigation security, solar power, and everything you'd need to create a thriving regenerative farm and nature-based tourism business. We're selling at $1.999M. We're halfway between Sydney and Brisbane and only 45 minutes from Port Macquarie Airport. This is PRIVATE camping. Once you book you have the whole site to yourself. You'll only have to share the river with whoever you bring with you and us! It's off-grid stuff - no power, no showers, little to no phone reception but one of the most peaceful places you can experience. There will sometimes be cattle in the paddock - so to make this plain there could be cow poo around your area. If that is a worry to you, it's best you camp on a farm without livestock. If you do camp with us, and our cows are in the paddock, they are friendly and won't hurt you, though they can be quite inquisitive. We endeavor to keep our moo friends in other paddocks, but this is a working farm and we have to manage our pastures and put our animals where they are able to be safe and have enough food to stay healthy. If you're here at the right time of year, you might catch a Bass or see a Platypus (but only if you're very, very quiet). There is a lot of bird life (Kingfishers, Wrens, Finches amongst others), reptiles (water dragons and lace monitors), and - of course - our farm animals. Getting away from it all starts right here at Oakvale Cattle Farm.Stare out over the causeway and enjoy the crystal clear water flowing past. Your site is an easy walk away! This site has room for up to four tents/campers but it is one single site. That means that it will only ever be your group that will be camping there, regardless of whether your group is small or large.  Caravans with decent clearance, camper trailers, and tents are all welcome. MUST be self-contained, no toilets or shower facilities available - but the river is pristine - you can bathe in it! The site has Pappinbarra River frontage with low water levels ideal for smaller children, however, it is only a short walk to a deeper hole for the more adventurous. Another reminder that this is a working cattle farm, and there may be farm and animal related items around (including poo). Obviously we try to keep this to a minimum, but if this is an issue for you it may be better for you to find a property that is more tailored to your camping needs. Raised fire pits (that don’t damage our pastures) may be permitted when fire restrictions allow. This is not decided by us, we are bound by law. Over summer, this is always no.

A beautiful riverside spot with a relaxing atmosphere and the sound of the river flowing through. We had the whole site to ourselves, which made it feel extra private and peaceful. Great location too, around 20 minutes from Wauchope and about an hour to Ellenborough Falls. The hosts were wonderful, friendly, caring, and very approachable. When the weather turned and we got a decent amount of rain, they checked in and offered assistance if we needed it. Really lovely people and a great stay. Morning crew would walk past bellow Moo and keep on going. Just a gorgeous place.

Causeway Calm Campsite
We loved camping at Oakvale Cattle Farm. The river was absolutely beautiful and the kids loved swimming every day. The campsite was large and generous and fit our family who came with one motorhome, a caravan and two tents. Heather and Harvey were absolutely fabulous hosts who showed us where the local platypus family live, we got to see platypus early ever morning!

Was beautiful and peaceful. The river was amazing not too deep so you could really enjoy walking through it or lazing about on a tube. An added bonus was the beautiful young cattle mingling around you. If you’re looking to reboot and recharge and disconnect from the hustle and bustle then this is perfect for you. Hosts Heather and Harvey were just delightful and welcoming. We will definitely be returning

It was a wonderful place that i would easily return to. I would advise anyone that doesnt want to relax is dont go there. The causeway sounds so relaxing and the cows were a good feature. Would highly recommend to anyone that wants to relax with the sounds of water Go there.

We had a great weekend at Heather and Harvey’s. Such a peaceful place and we loved that it was just us. Campsite is in a paddock, close to the river and away from the main house ensuring a tranquil stay. Thank you so much, just what we needed!

We had such a wonderful time at Oakvale farm! Heather and Harvey are deadset legends! So welcoming and happy to share awesome farm knowledge, we learnt so much about their beautiful cows. The bird life was stand out, the camp spot is great and the river is crystal clear and so refreshing. The kids loved every second. We will definitely be coming back!

Had a very relaxing stay. Beautiful camp alongside the river. Heather, Harvey and family are very welcoming - even shared some freshly picked blackberries with me. If your looking for peaceful and private camping I highly recommend. will definitely be back 👍

Absolutely beautiful. The creek was clean and refreshing, we were able to swim around in it with our 2 dogs all afternoon. Hospitality was wonderful. Our dogs were able to have a little run around and the camping spot was perfect.

We stayed by the river and it was a perfect spot. We had a nice private but spacious campsite 20 steps to the river. Water was great for swimming, there was plenty of sun & shade, nice level grassy areas for the tent, and a fire pit. Everything we wanted. We'll be back!
