Welcome to Mountainview at Long flat, a picturesque property surrounded by mountains, river flat and the beautiful Hastings river. Our property is located 45 minutes west of Port Macquarie and 20 mins from Wauchope. Located on the edge of the small community of Long Flat. Mountainview offers approximately 15 acres/700mts of riverside van sites which cater only to self-contained vans. Public toilets are within easy walking distance in the local township of Long Flat where you will also find a great pub and general store to resupply (1 km from property entrance). The property features a gated entrance and graveled road for your convenience and safety. We have 13 designated van sites available with plenty of space for privacy. If you are booking with others, please let us know so we can site you together. We are unable to accommodate tent sites. The river is a perfect spot to swim, kayak or fish with plenty of wildlife around to see, river shoes are advised for your comfort. The river can sometimes be swollen and fast flowing. Please watch children at all times. Camping fires are only allowed outside of fire restrictions. Fires must be in a proper container / bucket. Please leave site clear. If you forage for wood please clear site of whats left before leaving This property is pet friendly though we do ask that owners leash and clean up after their fur babies. Dump points are located at Wauchope and Port Macquarie. We ask that all rubbish is taken with you upon leaving. Please be mindful that we do have neighbours and we ask that you be respectful and keep all noise to a minimum after 11pm and before 6am. Please DO NOT cut through our neighbours property to get to and from pub. This is classed as trespassing and you will be ejected from property. If broken glass is left behind on the site it will result in an instant ban. Ph service is available in the area. Absolutely NO dumping of black water on property. We loved our 3 nights at Mountainview Long Flat, such a picturesque location, had fun floating down the river, the water was a perfect temperature. Melanie is a superb host, very easy directions and access to the property. No highway noise just the sound of flowing water. We were on site 10 and camped close to water with great views.

Mountainview is a wonderful Hip Camp, Corresponding with Melanie was very easy, directions and information accurate and easy to follow. We were on site 10, this site has a gorgeous outlook over the river. We will definitely be returning.

We absolutely loved our stay here! All 6 of us loved it and didn’t want to leave (2A, 4C). We have never camped anywhere so peaceful. The kids were in the water swimming and riding the little rapids on their boards all day. Sad that we could only stay for 1 night! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful large clear sites. We had site 11 and loved it so much we’ve booked again! The river had many swimming spots - lay in the mini rapids, lounge in still water or swim at the deeper hole. Not too crowded so could have your privacy if wanted. Our dog Ruby enjoyed the river too

Absolutely beautiful spot along the river! Very well maintained lush green lawn to camp on with beautiful views. So many gorgeous swimming holes along the river and the kids loved floating down the rapids on the lilos. Couldn't fault the stay it was perfect, and we are already planning a return trip. Thankyou for a wonderful stay

Fantastic large river side sites…most with shade.. Fires allowed but bring your own fire pit. Short walk to the Long Flat Pub Must be self sufficient…. Very peaceful.

Amazing Stay at Mountain View

We had an incredible time at Mountain View Long Flat, staying on Site 13 and honestly, we didn’t want to leave. From the moment we arrived, Brett & Melanie were exceptional hosts. They welcomed us with heaps of local knowledge and helpful directions that made our stay super easy and enjoyable. The sites here are huge, level, and very well kept, right on the banks of the Hastings River. The river was running beautifully and is so clear, perfect for floating down or just relaxing by the water while soaking up the views. Site 13 itself has very little shade, but it’s one of the biggest sites. Plenty of shade spots are just a short wander along the riverbank if you need a break from the sun. One of the highlights was meeting the neighbour a delightful 90-year-young local who was tending too his pumpkins. We had a lovely chat and he shared so much great history and insight about the area. The tiny township of Long Flat is only a minute away, with a cool pub and cafe, super convenient if you want to grab a meal without going far. With stunning mountain views, the beautiful river at your feet, and such a peaceful setting, we truly didn’t want to leave. We’ll definitely be back. We had a 22ft van with two dogs. Thank you so much Brett & Melanie for sharing your paradise with us.

We loved camping in our caravan at Mountain View site nine. We had peace and tranquility with green grass, extra large sites, top views of the mountain and the Hastings river right there ! Brett and Melanie were fantastic . They keep their property well maintained. The property directions were very clear and precise with easy access for vehicle and caravan. We shall defiantly be rebooking! We felt secure, relaxed and Bonnie our dog loved it too!!

Absolutely magical slice of the world. No issues with set up and super peaceful. Plenty of space between sites. Access to crystal clear river and just an amazing place to let the world slide by. Oh super secure with code accessed gate and just an amazing base to see the highlights such as Ellenborough Falls. Super handy to Wauchope and if you needed the bigger stores, Port Mac is not too far. The proximity to the pub deserves a mention and along with our host Melanie who was fantastic the locals at the pub were so inviting and happy for a chat. Site access was amazing with a huge amount of work by our hosts to put in a well maintained gravel road. All in all the set up and beautiful grassy sites were superb and this one will be on our roster for sure!!!

Super clean. Large sites. Lots of smiles of people floating down the river. It was lovely camping with beautiful views. We went for a drive to the local free camping site. Disgusting and very disappointing. I would pay to stay at mountainview anytime. I must contain my own rubbish, not a problem, self contained toilet required, perfect. What you bring in you take out. Simple. Do not disturb others. Pretty basic and easy.

We had a great 3 nights camping at Mountainview. The camping area was flat and well maintained/mowed, the sites were large ensuring privacy from other campers and the vista was beautiful towards the river and hills. Instructions for access were thorough and easy to follow.

A beautiful spot on the river, not crammed in. Only spent one night but easily could have done more. Large campsite near the end so no cars driving past the day we were there👌 Melanie was friendly on the phone even though I disturbed her dinner - instructions were clear and easy. Would definitely stay again if that way again.

Great open maintained paddock well signed for each campsite and spread out so you have some space between sites. The communication between the host Mel was great. We booked and within minutes received our welcome email and clear instructions how to find the place. The turn off does come up quickly. We booked campsite 10 originally once we got down there there was someone in camp 11 and so we messaged the hosts and we were able to swap to camp 4. From there we couldn’t even see the other group so it felt like we had place to ourselves. Beautiful rocky creek flat then out to water was great to swim in and lots of places to hang out your hammock would definitely recommend staying we were sad we didn’t have time to stay longer.

We had a great stay for 2 nights at Site 10. Such a beautiful and peaceful spot with a great outlook over the river. Good access for swimming too.. The grounds were so well maintained with no long grass. Easy access to the property via security gate & excellent communication from hosts. Thank you so much for having us. We are sure we’ll be back again soon..

We loved it there. Lovely big caravan sites giving you lots of space. The site was excellent for a caravan being nice and flat. We loved laying in the river and so did our dog. Plenty of room to go for walks and for our dog to play. We loved knowing you had a locked gate with pin code so you could leave to go to the shop or pub.
