Cameron's Falls is a historic site, the 'falls', really just gentle rapids, are the original river crossing site for horse drawn vehicles to travel from Port Macquarie/Wauchope inland to Beechwood and beyond. Today we are a hobby farm with cows, horses - we invite you to say hello, but please don't feed any of the animals. If we are here to greet you on arrival you can fill up with potable rain water at our cottage.
The Hastings is still tidal at our place so the access and flow varies throughout the day - we generally take our littlest kids down at low tide. Swim, fish or explore our hiking trails though the old growth riparian vegetation along winding creeks. If you are into birds you will see plenty here - in the last 12 months we have counted nearly 100 different species on our property!

"The Riverbank" is only 7.5 kilometres and an easy 8 minute drive off the M1. The rich green land supports a small beef raising enterprise and the cattle graze in surrounding paddocks. YOU MUST ARRIVE BEFORE SUNSET
We are pet friendly however only for those pets that live in harmony with our farm animals.
We offer 2 powered sites with water hookup and 2 unpowered drive through sites without water connection; our brand new magnificently appointed camp kitchen and bathroom ammenities are available to all who stay.
We are caravan, campervan and motorhome friendly but do not offer swag only or tent sites.
Campfires can be enjoyed through the cooler months and when permitted by the Rural Fire Service
Unfortunately our 3 metre cliff face river frontage prevents access to the river for activities such as boating or kayaking; nor do we offer farm style adventures.

which to explore the beautiful Hastings area.
The Abundance Nursery and Cafe with it's splendid lily pond view is a great spot to enjoy a meal or a coffee and only 3 kms back along Rawdon Island road.
The pretty country town of Wauchope is only a 12 minute drive and is home to Timbertown, a theme park boasting steam train rides and a glimpse of the timber getting industry of a bygone era.
Drop into the Vibe Coffee House, pick up "the best" coffee and a sensational meal before perusing the many treasures of Wauchope's specialty shops.
A day trip to the Comboyne plateu is a rewarding experience and enhanced by enjoying a meal at the magnificant Byabarra Cafe on your way through.
Whilst the meals equall those of any capital city restaurant, the view of the valley will take your breath away.
And then; there's Port Macquarie (20 mins) and sorrounds! one of the most scenic and attraction packed areas of Australia's eastern seaboard. Stunning beaches, amazing walks, top class restaurants, the list goes on.

There are five major camping locations with many other camping locations that you may like to choose for yourself. You may choose to camp near the cattle yards close to the creek, near the horses or high up on the hill to catch the views of the property.
4WD vehicles & high clearance caravans are recommended and able to camp throughout the property and are recommended. 2WD wheel drive vehicles are able to camp at locations earlier in the property.

Located on the Mid North Coast NSW, 4kms off the Pacific Highway, and a quick 13/15-minute drive to the holiday township of Port Macquarie. Port Macquarie is known for its beautiful beaches, coastal scenery and walks, koala hospital, local strawberry and tomato picking, and 4WDing at nearby beaches and through Cairncross State Forest.
Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement.
The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Please note that all animal interactions are self-led (including our animal nursery), and children must be supervised by their parents/carers. During NSW School Holidays, host led animal interactions will be available at designated times.

This is PRIVATE camping. Once you book you have the whole site to yourself. You'll only have to share the river with whoever you bring with you and us!
It's off-grid stuff - no power, no showers, little to no phone reception but one of the most peaceful places you can experience.
There will sometimes be cattle in the paddock - so to make this plain there could be cow poo around your area. If that is a worry to you, it's best you camp on a farm without livestock. If you do camp with us, and our cows are in the paddock, they are friendly and won't hurt you, though they can be quite inquisitive. We endeavor to keep our moo friends in other paddocks, but this is a working farm and we have to manage our pastures and put our animals where they are able to be safe and have enough food to stay healthy.
If you're here at the right time of year, you might catch a Bass or see a Platypus (but only if you're very, very quiet). There is a lot of bird life (Kingfishers, Wrens, Finches amongst others), reptiles (water dragons and lace monitors), and - of course - our farm animals.

A 5 acre area is set aside accommodating a maximum of 4 caravans and or motorhomes so that you are well away from other campers. As per the reviews its very peaceful and ideally located close to the town, beaches and other attractions within the general area.
As we are located on the North Shore of Port Macquarie, and to access the property you must cross the river using the Settlement Point Ferry
The Hibbard Ferry operates (6am - 10am / 2pm-7pm) Mon -Fri and all day on Saturdays and Sundays is only 300 m from the campsite, making it easy to pop into town, explore Port Macquarie’s attractions, or visit the region’s wineries. For longer stays, a discounted ferry pass can be purchased on your behalf.
NOTE THERE IS A COST WHEN USING THE FERRY
North Shore Beach is a 5-minute drive away, and the local gin distillery is just a 15–20 minute drive up Maria River Road.

If you value your privacy, then you are at the right place. We have just one exclusive campsite on our 40 acres. You are hidden away and guaranteed privacy.
Note. This site is not for Bachelor or similar parties, we cultivate a natural quiet space.
Private access is by 4WD only.
Access during unpredictable weather will depend on your vehicle/camper/caravan configuration. Please check with host prior if you are unsure. We are more than willing to make it work for you.
On arrival, guests are met by host and directed to the site.
Camp site is a secluded, grassy spot beside the creek, among tall gum trees, where you can enjoy peace and serenity. Perfect for families or group of friends. The creek has lovely shallow areas suitable for kids to splash and play in.
Occasionally you may see sea eagles soaring overhead, they nest in one of the trees along the creek beside your camp area.
Camp area has a composting drop toilet housed in an outback style 'dunny' shed. Unfiltered rainwater is available and cold water outdoor shower for the brave.
The site has a fire pit and some light fire wood laying around from fallen branches, plus mesh to place over the fire pit if you wish to use the fire for cooking. Campers may purchase quality split hardwood from your host.
(There is always smaller branches and kindling laying on the ground)
Well behaved pets are welcome. You may be visited by some cattle during your stay...they will keep out of your way.
There are some large and unique trees to admire and keep your eye out for wildflowers that grow along the creek. There is an active eagle's nest in one of the trees.
For a relaxing stroll, guests are welcome to walk the farm fence lines along the creek.
There are so many beautiful local attractions to visit. Our local village is less than 2kms from the property where you will find Byabarra Cafe for excellent refreshments. Then a gorgeous drive up onto the plateau and you will find Comboyne village with a historic 1905 goal, Larrikins Lockup.
Upon arrival your host will provide you with an information pack on local attractions and general Hip Camp house rules and guidelines for your safety and enjoyment.

Beautiful place with lots of animals! A kind and warm welcome from Rick and Cheryl. We forgot to book the farm tour, but Cheryl was happy to show us around and we got to feed the animals. We even got some delicous lemonades! Toilets and campground were clean.

A cracking spot right on the Hastings river. Mark was a great host greeting us with firewood on our arrival. We caught fish off the jetty and watched the sun set over the water. Great spot for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Nice and close to town.

Such a peaceful spot by a beautiful river. Although we experience a bit of rain we were so grateful that we were able to utilise the shelters that the campsites have. The baby animals were so cute! And our poodles enjoyed the company of Jack the resident dog, which soon became their playmate. Great finishing, also crabbing! Love this place, and both of the hosts were so lovely, we will definitely be returning.

The sites 4 & 5 are very well looked after & only a slight slope. Close to the amenities & the access to the river. Plenty of kyaks & body boards for fun in the water & bicycles to ride around on. Lots of room for kids to run around, play sports etc. Rick, Cheryl & the staff are very friendly & easy to talk to with nothing being a problem. The weather wasn't the best with a fair bit of rain but we still had a great stay.

This would have to be one of my favourite hipcamps so far. The property is well maintained, very spacious, excellent privacy,pet friendly and Sophie and Anthony were great hosts.

Well kept camp ground. Great peaceful spot next to flowing river, great swimming spot. Great family camp. Toilets were clean and tidy. We had a fire most of the time and Cheryl kept us in supply of some good timber. Also thanks for the eggs and avo they were delicious. Would recommend this site. Thanks to our hosts Cheryl and Rick.
