Two hours north of Hornsby. 1 hour north of Newcastle. 2 mins to Pindimar beach, 9 minutes to Coles and bottle shop, 11 minutes to surf beach Bennett Beach 12 minutes to Jimmy's Beach. Pets are welcome please pick up after them. Unfortunately, due to a recent incident. All dogs from now on must be on a leash at all times. The dangerous dog in question bit 4 people in less than 24 hours. Including my husband twice. You know your dog, But you cannot predict what another campers's dog is going to be like. Any dog on the NSW dangerous dogs list is absolutely not welcome here. Free use of fire pits and free firewoods. You will need to be split the logs yourself. axes and wheelbarrows are supplied. Hot showers and decent toilets, Good mobile phone signal. Two Communal Fridges .There is lots of space for campers. We have two sites with shade, four without. We suggest you bring a decent quality gazebo or equivalent. If you choose a non-shady site and then it's sunny, it is beyond our control. We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm. PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. No limit on number of tents. 2) IF You Have more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking. 3) Depending on the weather on the day, we may have to limit the number of vehicles that can be parked adjacent to your campsite. 4) NO late night check in . If you are a group larger than two people, the check in time is between midday and sunset. Do not arrive after sunset. If in doubt call. 5) As the business name suggests (mountain) our property is on a hill. we are creating more level campsites. This year the weather has been terrible. From record rain to drought conditions in 3 months. Because of the earthworks there has been a bit of dust, which we have tried to control with grass seed and then no rain.... once each section of earthworks is done. Shade trees are being planted. But they are slow to grow. 6) Please check weather report a minimum of 7 days before you arrive and CANCEL your booking if you are not sure. 7) We cannot control the wind, the sun, rain, or lack of rain.

The river is a fresh mountain river running from the foothills of Barrington Tops. We only offer 5 sites across our 300 acre property giving you absolute privacy and a sense of serenity We were very pleased to have been recognised by Hipcamp as being one of the top 20 Hipcamp locations in NSW for 2022. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming canoeing floating on airbeds fishing photography or just enjoying. There is also some really nice bike riding and walking opportunities around the valley although you will be on gravel roads and we are only 25 min drive from the popular Dungog mountain bike park. You are likely to see a variety of birdlife other wildlife including black and white cockatoos ducks some lizards, occasionally wallabies, echidnas and if you are lucky a Platypus or two. We are fortunate to see platypus in the river frequently which is a sign of just how pristine the water running down from the mountains really is. You will have your campsite completely to yourself with no other camper near you. Privacy, tranquillity, relaxation and just enjoying nature is waiting for you. Be sure to bring your telescope as you’ll be amazed at the stargazing at night with no light pollution. With some lovely Spring rain the river is running beautifully and is great for a swim, fish or canoe. Swimming, canoeing and running the rapids on surf mats is always popular at our property and as long as the river is it normal levels and a lot of fun. However, we always highly recommend people wear some form of footwear in the river such as rafting sandals or old joggers or similar as the rocks are very hard on your feet and there’s a particular nasty little fish called a “Bullrout” that whilst rare can infect a nasty sting if you tread on one. No need to be overly concerned but be mindful. Our property is ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. There are no toilets so only suitable if you have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste when you leave. All toilet waste, leaving our property is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. Public waste dump points are at Stroud, Dungog and Gloucester. Gloucester Dungog and historic Stroud village are nearby as well as Barrington Tops World Heritage wilderness area and national park. This is an operating farm and therefore farming activities such as cattle droving, fencing, grass cutting or hay making may occasionally be occurring somewhere near your site but we would always let you know. We are sure you will enjoy our farm far more than a crowded traditional caravan park or campgrounds. We do have some limited bags of firewood for sale at $20 a bag most of the year. These are heavy bags of very dry local Hardwood. You can also collect firewood along the riverbanks yourself or bring your own firewood for a campfire (subject to any fire restrictions) if that is easier and more convenient for you. When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand. Nestled under the Watagan mountains escarpment in the Hunter valley, the property has some amazing views in all directions, but still remains secluded and hidden from view. The property has been selectively cleared to maintain a balance of open land and untouched bushland which has a boundary to the Watagans National Park. The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts. The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit! The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit. We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter. This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site. 16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin. The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife. There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase.

Pets are welcome please pick up after them. Unfortunately, due to a recent incident. All dogs from now on must be on a leash at all times. The dangerous dog in question bit 4 people in less than 24 hours. Including my husband twice. You know your dog, But you cannot predict what another campers's dog is going to be like. Any dog on the NSW dangerous dogs list is absolutely not welcome here. Free use of fire pits and free firewoods. You will need to be split the logs yourself. axes and wheelbarrows are supplied. Hot showers and decent toilets, Good mobile phone signal. Two Communal Fridges .There is lots of space for campers. We have two sites with shade, four without. We suggest you bring a decent quality gazebo or equivalent. If you choose a non-shady site and then it's sunny, it is beyond our control. We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm. PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. No limit on number of tents. 2) IF You Have more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking. 3) Depending on the weather on the day, we may have to limit the number of vehicles that can be parked adjacent to your campsite. 4) NO late night check in . From record rain to drought conditions in 3 months. Because of the earthworks there has been a bit of dust, which we have tried to control with grass seed and then no rain.... once each section of earthworks is done. Shade trees are being planted. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming canoeing floating on airbeds fishing photography or just enjoying. There is also some really nice bike riding and walking opportunities around the valley although you will be on gravel roads and we are only 25 min drive from the popular Dungog mountain bike park. You are likely to see a variety of birdlife other wildlife including black and white cockatoos ducks some lizards, occasionally wallabies, echidnas and if you are lucky a Platypus or two. We are fortunate to see platypus in the river frequently which is a sign of just how pristine the water running down from the mountains really is. You will have your campsite completely to yourself with no other camper near you. Privacy, tranquillity, relaxation and just enjoying nature is waiting for you. Be sure to bring your telescope as you’ll be amazed at the stargazing at night with no light pollution. With some lovely Spring rain the river is running beautifully and is great for a swim, fish or canoe. Swimming, canoeing and running the rapids on surf mats is always popular at our property and as long as the river is it normal levels and a lot of fun. However, we always highly recommend people wear some form of footwear in the river such as rafting sandals or old joggers or similar as the rocks are very hard on your feet and there’s a particular nasty little fish called a “Bullrout” that whilst rare can infect a nasty sting if you tread on one. No need to be overly concerned but be mindful. Our property is ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. There are no toilets so only suitable if you have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste when you leave. All toilet waste, leaving our property is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. Public waste dump points are at Stroud, Dungog and Gloucester. Gloucester Dungog and historic Stroud village are nearby as well as Barrington Tops World Heritage wilderness area and national park. This is an operating farm and therefore farming activities such as cattle droving, fencing, grass cutting or hay making may occasionally be occurring somewhere near your site but we would always let you know. We are sure you will enjoy our farm far more than a crowded traditional caravan park or campgrounds. We do have some limited bags of firewood for sale at $20 a bag most of the year. These are heavy bags of very dry local Hardwood. You can also collect firewood along the riverbanks yourself or bring your own firewood for a campfire (subject to any fire restrictions) if that is easier and more convenient for you. When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand. The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts. The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit! The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit. We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter. This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site. 16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin. The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife. There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase.

We had an amazing time staying at Mei’s! The area is quiet and remote and the views are amazing! We arrived a day late due to flight cancellations and Mei offered us an extra night for free which was very kind. She was very accommodating and made everything very clear for us. Shower and toilet facilities are great and showers were nice and warm. Fridges are very useful for storing food and freezers had ice lollies for guests which was a nice touch! Would 100% recommend staying here. Thanks Mei!

Stayed at long flat for 3 nights. Site was very large and well maintained. Had platypus right in front of our camp each night. They came out just as the sun set over the range. Jo and Ian were very welcoming and happy to help. All sites spaced far apart so you hear no noise of other campers. Highly recommend and we already booked our next weekend away while we there.

Cranky Rock was the perfect quick weekend get away. Far enough away from the city but close enough that you can duck back to Cessnock if needed. We snagged the ideal spot in camp with dappled shade throughout the day. Although the toilets are non flushing they are clean and accessible. Pam came to check on us when we arrived and other than that we were left to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Weekend Trip to Quorragami
Loved the private canyon view campsite. Very dog friendly my golden retriever loved being able to stretch his legs and because it was hot he trotted up the hill to the dam a few times before I put water in the pool and let him use that as a paddle pool instead. The toilet and shower block is glamping magic. We didn't do the canyon walk as not suitable for dogs but we went for a walk along edge which was scenic. The main reason you book is the wood fire hot tub which I spent hours in on Saturday night. It takes about 2-2.5hrs to fill and heat so plan ahead early and enjoy the stars! Phone reception was good for the stay and when my partner absolutely had to watch the cricket it was only 20 mins drive to a pub so not a bad backup if the rain was too heavy to cook. We loved our stay at Bonneydoon. The property is outstanding with plenty to do without even leaving the property if you don’t want to travel around the local points of interest. At the time of our 2 night stay, there was nobody else there so Nicholas said we can take our pick of sites even though we only paid for the cheapest camp site. Throw in the beautiful views, fantastic wildlife and great weather, we couldn’t fault this Hip Camp.

Will definitely return, although will do it in cooler months as if there’s a fireban the hot tub can’t be heated. The one full day we had available we were unlucky in that there was a fireban! We had a great weekend in our caravan at Long Flat. The site was well maintained, private and flat. The stars at night are amazing, the river was a big win for the kids and they loved seeing the farm animals and having a fire of an evening. Quick drive into town for essentials and the dump point. Jo and Ian were welcoming and kind, they checked in during our stay to make sure everything was ok. We will definitely be back :)

We encourage you to explore it. There are so many features for active people to enjoy, especially the wet Sclerophyll bush gully. We are pet friendly, but please respect the native kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and amazing bird life. Be self-contained with your own camping toilet/shower, water, and supplies, and enjoy fires in the provided fire pits. The sites currently do not have toilet or electrical facilities, but something we are working on. So please bring your own toilet and take all waste with you when you leave. Welcome to our Cabin, Van and Camping park! Whether you are looking for a quiet getaway or a permanent change of lifestyle, this could be the place for you! Located on a working property in the Hunter Valley, amidst beautiful vineyards and picturesque scenery, 15 minutes from Pokolbin, 30 minutes from Singleton or Cessnock, 20 minutes from historical Wollombi. We have vans and cabins on site for permanent accommodation. All prices include water, Wi-Fi and electricity. We also have powered and non-powered short term sites. Water is not potable. There are numerous cellar doors and restaurants within 1 - 12 kilometers where you can dine and taste the finest food and wine in the district. Pokolbin is 15mins to the east where you can visit Harrigans Irish Pub, numerous cellar doors and restaurants. Singleton is about 30mins to the north and has a large shopping centre and many other attractions. Cessnock is about 30 mins to the East, has a population of over 20,000 people and excellent facilities including a private airport. Newcastle is about 1.5 hrs drive away and has a commercial airport and many other facilities of a large sea side city. Wollombi is about 20min drive to the South and is one of the first areas settled in after Sydney. It has many items of historical significance including jail, museum, post office and Wollombi Tavern, the home of Dr Jurds Jungle Juice. Sydney is about 2.5 - 3 hours south. Check in and checkout times are flexible.
