Great stay, Titan was an un-real experience. Showed us up to camp in the dark & stayed with us all night. Greeted to a beautiful good morning howl as we opened the tent. Magical stay.

A fantastic trip! Luke was very welcoming and friendly. Beautiful property and views. Campsite was great! Nice big grassy area for us to set up on. Loved meeting the highland cows and feeding them! Highlight of the stay was definitely Titan the husky who stayed with us the whole weekend! A super happy puppy who loves pats. Thank you so much for an awesome stay Luke!

Wonderful time at Firefly ridge with our kids. Nice views over the valley, some games for the kids, plus plenty of shade and no mozzies made it an easy experience. Luke was so friendly and we loved feeding the highland cows and hearing lots of stories about them. 🙏

This is an excellent place to camp and relax. No matter if you’re in a pop up tent or caravan, Luke will go above and beyond to look after you. Seclusion gully is unreal and a great hideaway out of the wind if it’s windy. The scenery is very picturesque and directions are very easy to follow. We will definitely be back and put this in our regular rotation.

Lovely spot overlooking Lambs Valley. Nice and peaceful. Hammock further up the hill which I nodded off in. Zzzzzzzzz.

Such a great spot. One of those places you kind of want to keep to yourself.
Super peaceful, lots of space, and just really easy to switch off and relax. The setting is beautiful, plenty of nature around, and it feels nicely tucked away without being hard to get to.
The host was awesome too. Really friendly and helpful, and you can tell they’ve put a lot of effort into making the place feel welcoming.
Perfect spot for a quiet getaway, whether you’re just chilling at camp or heading out to explore during the day. Nights were a highlight, just kicking back and enjoying the calm.

Halacal has been one of our favourite HipCamp adventures by far. We thoroughly enjoyed the amazing views and even better hosts. Luke (Owner) Titan (Very friendly Husky) & Donald Rump plus the gang (Highland cows) were a delight. We would love to camp here again in the near future. Thanks again Luke!

Had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Halacal farm for a night. The firefly ridge campsite is tucked away on a quiet grassy hill, about 1 km in from the road. The spot felt wonderfully secluded and peaceful, surrounded by rolling hills and tall gums. It’s the kind of place where you can truly switch off and enjoy nature.
The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and his dog was just as lovely, happily wandering around and adding to the relaxed country vibe.
The campsite itself is simple but perfect. Plenty of space to set up, with stunning views across the valley. Once the sun goes down, the sky absolutely comes alive. With almost no light around, it’s an amazing place for stargazing.
If you’re looking for a tranquil escape to unwind, watch the sunset, and spend the night under a sky full of stars, this spot is a real gem.

Great spot on the ridge to set up, explore and relax. Hosted by Luke who was amazing from check in to check out. Luke and Halacal Farm have curated a truly private experience to get in touch with nature with their sites. Genuinely feels like you’re all alone, but not so far away from everything. Super relaxed vibe and great for my young kids to have a run around and spot the livestock and local native animals and birds.

My husband and I absolutely loved tent camping at Firefly Ridge. It was exactly as described and easy to get to. Spectacular views for sunset, sunrise and stargazing. Super quiet and tranquil with really pretty birdsong all about. Luke was one of the most accommodating and down to earth hosts we've ever encountered when travelling. Top bloke. His dog Titan also added to our trip. He was very affectionate and got on well with our groodle. Oh and the highland cows are worth meeting, especially if you go at sunset and take a beer or two down to have at the wine barrels.

We stayed at Halacal Farm for one night last week and it was such a lovely little escape. I took my daughters camping and the setup was perfect for us — private, peaceful, and completely tucked away.
Our site felt really secluded, which we actually loved. It wasn’t huge, but it didn’t need to be — it had everything we needed and felt cosy, safe, and easy to manage with kids. It made the whole experience feel more relaxed and intimate rather than overwhelming.
The quiet was incredible. Sitting by the fire with no noise around, just enjoying time together, was exactly what we were after. It’s the kind of place where you can properly switch off and just be present.
Everything was well kept and thoughtfully set up, and the whole property had a calm, welcoming feel.
We’ll definitely be back — next time for longer than one night.

We loved the unpowered sites at Halacal Farm. Picturesque location and absolutely stunning view of the valley below. Luke is a fantastic host, super welcoming and helpful but not hovering. Will absolutely be going back soon!

Amazing place. The host was very helpful with directions when arriving to the property.
He took us for a ride on his buggy to show the properties walking track. He was accommodating with delivering extra firewood when we needed it.
If you camp here, you’re going to have a guardian dog named ‘Titan’ watching over you during the night. The spot was wonderfully peaceful. The highland cows were ADORABLE & FUN. Loved it.

Had a great single night at the camp. Luke was accomodating even with my late arrival.
Great location and views, great conversation with Luke who will make you feel welcome, cows are cute and you may even have a furry companion (Titan) follow you around to make sure you are always giving all your pats and belly rubs to him!

Beautiful property with some very cute animals!
Titan the husky is great company and stayed with us at camp which we were more than happy with. Loved the highland cows too! Would NOT recommend approaching them unless you are confident around large animals and understand animal behaviour; otherwise I recommend going with Luke and doing the feeding.

I swear I sat down and wrote a review, but must have gotten lost.
Anyway, Luke and his farm are amazing. He is by far the best most gracious host I have ever met. You will have a co-pilot titan, but he is the sweetest pup around (fully grown)
The place is a little hard to find only if you don't read Luke's instructions (guess who didn') but within 5 min of me messaging him I will be late due to this not reading of instructions, he called me and got me to the property in 15 miuntes.
Upon arrival we chatted for at least 20 minutes about life and the property and the view, just amazing.
Would go back in a heartbeat!!!

We had such a great time staying on Lukes land! He was happy to accommodate our late arrival! The land was gorgeous and we were greeted the next morning with a wake up from the Highland Cows. Space was great with the fire pit set up and ready to go. We will definitely be back and I plan to send my aussie family out here as well!

We had an awesome stay over the long weekend. The host was great starting our stay with feeding the cows and then guiding us to our site with firewood and fresh eggs. This is a getting back to basics camp spot with the amenity of a pit toilet.
We were expecting hot weather one day and Luke gave us some great tips for spots to go to cool down. This was a really nice quiet and serene camp. Thanks Luke we will be back.

We stayed for 4 nights- camp was brilliant - amazing views. Luke the host was so welcoming and friendly and checked every day if all was ok- which it was. The highland cows were amazing. What an experience being able to brush and feed them - a once in a lifetime experience. Titan is also amazing - loved his visits. Overall brilliant 4 days. We will be back.

We loved this spot. Nestled away with the sound of nature, is just what we wanted. Luke met us and showed us our spot and was a very friendly host. Dogs enjoyed relaxing by a fire and the smells on the land. We got to brush and pat the gorgeous cows also.
We would highly reccommend Lukes place.

We had a great time at Halacal Farm! Stayed one night with our dog. We camped up on the ridge as we felt out car couldn't make it into the valley site but Luke was a great accommodating host, finding a perfect spot for us with great sunset views. In the morning we met the Highland Cows, what a wonderful experience. Thanks Luke!
