Weekend Trip to Quorragami

This is a great property, with a lovely outlook over the rural area. There is a bathroom with flushing toilets and a tap for hand washing. A few other taps exist around the sites for washing etc (noting is not drinkable - it is dam water etc). Getting there, make sure to follow the Google maps instructions which take you in via Barraba Rd, as some other nav apps will try to send you down Swan Lane (which is not the right way, and will lead you into a dead end about 10km away). Also worth nothing that the last few kms (and inside the property) is unsealed road, with a couple shallow water crossings. But once at the location, you will be happy. Nice place, dog friendly, firepit friendly, nice and quiet. Would definitely go again.

4 nights at Quorragami

My wife, daughter, and I spent a weekend camping on Damien’s property and had a truly relaxing experience. The location is incredibly quiet and peaceful, perfect for unwinding. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent, but the highlight for us was definitely the large hot tub overlooking the valley. It's heated by a wood fire in a nearby fire pit and takes a couple of hours to warm up, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. We spent hours soaking in the tub while enjoying some local wines - pure bliss. The property has only recently opened to guests, and Damien and his family have done a fantastic job creating a luxury camping experience.

Last minute booking for a variety of reasons and I’m so glad we stayed at Boneydoon. It was exactly what these 2 “city slickers” needed. We had the whole place to ourselves apart for some wallabies and kookaburras. Great communication with Nick and perfect facilities (for off grid). Great phone reception so we could check in with our dog sitter.

Super lovely spot just a short drive from Sydney city. Well kept grounds and very helpful staff for any questions or needs. We had one of the private sites and it felt nice and isolated while still being a 20min walk back to front office for firewood, toilets, showers. Highly recommend!

We loved our time camping at Chapman Valley. We were allocated Green Wattle Arm 5, and it was just perfect! Our dog had the most amazing time with lots of space. It was very private. Communication was spot on, our spot was easy to find and we had preordered our firewood. We explored the property via 4wD , and saw lots of wildlife along the way. We will definitely be back. 10/10!

We had a great time camping on Brett’s land! Despite the heavy rain and muddy conditions, we still really enjoyed ourselves. We chose a spot closer to the road which made things a bit easier. The basic amenities were definitely appreciated, and Brett was super friendly with great communication throughout. The highlight was star gazing on a clear night by the fire - absolutely amazing! Thanks again!

Weekend Trip to Cranky Rock Hunter Valley

Would absolutely recommend for solo travelers and families. There are cows on the property that come and say hello. The views are incredible, especially if you wake up early to see the sunrise above the trees. The property is enough off the main road that you don’t see anyone or hear cars but still close to town that you can pop in for a coffee or explore. The camp site is very big so that you and other campers aren’t right next to each other. Will definitely be back! Can’t recommend enough!

Stunning spot! Beautiful views and very private, with amazing sunsets. Luke was a wonderful host, friendly and welcoming. The kids loved exploring and feeding the farm animals. Great location and clear directions. Will definitely be back to stay again!

Lovely location (hidden away behind some windy roads). Very well spaced out sites and more private sites further in. No phone coverage which to me is a plus 😂 Owners were nice and friendly. About 5 minutes from town (expect tourist pricing for everything except the pub). Would be happy to spend a long weekend there again!

Valley View Farm is located in the beautiful upper Hunter Valley - home of racehorses and wineries. We are spread out over 40 acres, set in a picturesque 600-acre valley, with Mount Dangar dominating the skyline. Our property is set on top of a huge inland sandbank/cliff, with deep gorges on two sides, which gives amazing valley views. Due to these cliffs, our property is not suitable for groups with small children, and older children must be supervised at all times. The valley is service by a dirt Crown road, snaking through private land, this acts as an excellent walking track with minimal traffic, there is also exploring through the native bush up in the mountains. Plenty of wildlife abounds, including kangaroos, wombats, lizards, birdlife, and not too many snakes! The property is accessed via a 6km dirt road, off the Golden Highway, with some corrugations. We do recommend SUV or 4WD however others have accessed it via 2WD successfully. I drive my horse float up there all the time, and provided your caravan or car isn't too low clearance, it should be fine. Any concerns, please discuss with us prior to booking. When we've had heavy rain, this will hinder access for 2WD vehicles until the water drains, which it does quickly. For this reason, please keep an eye on the weather on your arrival day. We currently offer 4 camping sites - 2 in our back paddock which are 4WD accessible only, and 2 in our front paddocks, both with easy access to the flushing toilet and one with exclusive use of a large 9x9m shelter. Wollombi Rolling Ridges

Ridgetop views evoke stillness and quiet to enjoy the abundant nature, from lyre birds, black cockatoos, wallabies, wombats, goannas as well as many different bird species depending on the season. Whilst the property is 100 acres, we also border Yengo State Forrest so if you're experienced hikers you can tramp until your hearts content without needing permission to cross private properties. The bushfire regrowth is dense and difficult to travers. so I have cut in a loop walk to a rock ledge lookout (see pics) plus 4km return walk to dry creek bed; with caves, pancake rock platforms, and beautiful old trees. Ideal for those who wish to immerse themselves in pristine nature while being only 1.5 hrs from Newcastle or Wahroonga (start of M1) There are 2 camping pads so if you are a group you can spread out but I want it to be private for each group I host, so if you are only 2 people there won't be any other campers We live simply in a Yurt on solar and rain water, apart from us, you will be the only campers so you are able to enjoy the quiet all to yourselves. (See pic 4 to see distance yurt is from camping pad). Have 1yrold Border Collie Cross and training her to be well socialised around other dogs. If you are looking for a party, this is not the place for you. It's the place for stargazers and nature lovers. In the evenings, you won't hear us nor my neighbours so it's only fair that my neighbours don't hear you. No loud music allowed, being a ridge the noise travels and it scares away the wildlife. We're 15mins on dirt tracks from Wollombi village. 2WD vehicle needs high clearance and dry tracks, so check with me first. 4WD and AWD preferable. Dogs love roaming around off leash, if yours is good with recall, as there's no fencing. Children under 5yrs no charge. You may use our composting loo or bring your own camping loo. (see pic 5 and 6) FIRES: Only firepit/cooking fire is allowed from 1st October to 31st March. Firepit provided (see pic 7 ) Open bonfires allowed from 1st April to 30th Sept, as per state rules. Regardless of season all fires are Bushfire Rating Dependant. You can roam around and collect what has fallen on the ground, bring a small battery saw to cut bigger limbs off fallen trees, if you wish.

It is private and secluded, and with just one group staying at a time, you are guaranteed the space to yourselves. There are many beautiful walking and bike trails in the area. Lots of wildlife to meet, including water dragons, wild ducks, and pythons, to name a few. There is also nearby evidence of the original occupants, the Darkinjung people. You are also welcome to bring a couple of horses! There's a safe paddock with a trough and nice trails in the area to explore. Come nighttime during September - February it is the mating season for koalas, the valley being a known corridor for koloas you quite often hear them searching for their partner. being such an accessible site and not off the beaten track, some days you may notice more vehicles driving past. Take the old convict road all the way down to the country pub at st Albans, which is very peaceful for adults but theres also a creek for the kids to play in and newly upgraded playground. Off the convict road there are a few 4wd tracks. Just back from the property you have direct access into the Watagan Mountains, which offers great 4wd tracks, lots of hiking trails, motorbike tracks and even a few waterfalls.

Nestled under the Watagan mountains escarpment in the Hunter valley, the property has some amazing views in all directions, but still remains secluded and hidden from view. The property has been selectively cleared to maintain a balance of open land and untouched bushland which has a boundary to the Watagans National Park. The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts. The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit! The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit. We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter. This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site. 16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin. The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife. There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase. There are 2 dams that can be fished on request (catch and release cod and bass)

With roots dating back to the late 1820s, Stroud boasts a rich history as the headquarters of the Australian Agricultural Company. Join us each July for the renowned Stroud Brick throwing competition! The camping area is caravan-friendly, but mindful access during wet weather is crucial to preserving the landscape. Fernbrook welcomes your furry companions too but requires dogs to be supervised and leashed at all times for their safety and that of our livestock. Leaving dogs off-leash may lead to eviction without refund, and any harm to livestock or dogs must be avoided. Basic amenities include a toilet (please bring your own environmentally friendly toilet paper) and shower. Campers may use our rainwater to fill their tanks, and hot water connections are available, with campers providing their own gas bottles. A small kitchenette equipped with a sink, cupboards, microwave, and power outlets for fry pans is available, with clear labeling of personal belongings. (In Cooranbong ) Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area. FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. For the next guest All cleaning products under sink. We are located on a wide river estuary, offering sites in open paddocks, secluded among trees and beside dams. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods. Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety). The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business. Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up. Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns). Local groceries can be sourced from Karuah and Stroud. Activities include: - Bird/nature watching - Paddling/canoeing - Fishing - Bike riding (small motor vessels only by arrangement) - Surface type: grass or paddock leveled areas and others with slight slopes and accessed with 4WD (of course subject to weather). - Generally fair to good Mobile phone access. - BYO or Preorder firewood for applicable sites out of fire season. - No electrical connections unless by arrangement (for longer term Hipcampers) - We treat our own sewerage. - No generators please.
