Purple Pear Farm is a working Permaculture Farm and Education center. We have a wide range of animals from pigs to cows and a pony and all types and numbers of poultry. If you are interested in the Permaculture or the animals you can join us for "chores" in extras. We aim to provide a restful site close to other activities on the farm and in the Maitland area such as festivals and farm field days at Tocal. Guidance for a pleasant stay at Purple Pear Farm. • Speed limit is 5 km per hour. There are animals and children that may be in the driveway. • Respect private spaces on the farm (residences) and with other campers. • No noise after 9pm. • No drugs. • We are a working farm – for your safety and ours, please stay within the camping areas including the car park and shower block. • Supervised tours of the farm only – you can book for a tour or children’s morning or evening chores via Hipcamp or come and see us. • If there are aspects of the facilities you do not like please give us the opportunity to correct prior to your leaving/reviewing. • We welcome any feedback that helps make the stay worthwhile and improvements for the future.

Beautiful location, amazing extras available and the loveliest of hosts. Very accommodating and easy to navigate. Very excited puppies that will let all know you have arrived and loves to try a sneak a snack. Amazing trip !

Loved our stay at Purple Pear Farm! Loads of space for the kids to run wild, and the hot showers were a perfect touch after a day outdoors. We also really enjoyed watching the stars at night—so peaceful.

Simple to get to and lovely welcoming couple. Thou the composing toilet could be a bit more desirable. But you get what you pay for we just needed a safe site for the night we arrived in the dark and left at first light.

Loved camping here. Such a great place. Loved the animals and wish we could have stayed longer to learn all about what they do at the farm. The hosts were lovely, they checked in but also let us have our space.

After we booked, we went to follow the farm on Facebook and realized there was a concert on, the same weekend as our booking. We were able to communicate with the hosts very easily, and we were able to buy tickets to attend. The spots are well marked. The shower was good. There was plenty of space, despite the concert attracting a few campers. The concert was so sweet. Real people performing from the heart. It was so nice to see some older generations represented in the concert, sharing their beautiful songs. We were really humbled. Kids ran around picking mulberries. There were a couple of fires around. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the night time was lovely and quiet. Kate cooked a vegetarian feast for everyone, which was super! This camp also had value for money. It was much better than a lot of places, and much cheaper than most places we have been. (Toilets and hot showers.)

Easy access and nice level camp sites. The shower facilities were 100%. Much needed in the hot weather. As with all camping trips you want to ensure you have your own form of shade packed. The friendly dogs and cows were so great for our 2 year old. Lovely quiet and safe environment for kids and the super close proximity to down as needed. Would stay here again.

We loved our stay at Purple Pear Farm. Kate and her husband were so lovely and welcoming. The farm is beautiful and the campsites are really big. They have two of the cutest dogs, who our kids loved, cows, a pony, and chickens. It was heaven for our kids. They didn’t want to leave. When we asked if it would be ok to have a campfire, Kate’s husband gave us an old washing machine drum we could use as a fire pit, which my husband thought was the coolest. We really had the best and can’t wait to come back.

Need to mow grass before you arrive.Was not staying there all the time as was visiting family and stayed with them in the area.Host was friendly on arrival.Got wet from rain when it was time to leave being slippery and not very level

The hosts were lovely and helpful. It was a lovely spot with showers and a composting loo and close to town which is what we needed - yet it felt quite rural on the property. Enjoyed the dogs and the farm animals. Thank you Kate.

The farm was a great location for us. The bonus was the showers (there are 2), and it's a really good shower! The only reason our stay was cut short was the constant rain, as we weren't set up for 24/7 rain! We enjoyed watching the unusual small planes from the nearby regional airport.

Hosts and surroundings were great, but considering no water or power hook-up, value for money was very poor. Paid only $7 more per night at a caravan park with full facilities!!

Based on the price I cannot say more. It is much more than you paid. The lovely animals, the hot shower and the big site you will have. The location is quite convenient as well, close to everything. And Kate is very helpful if you have any questions. She even provided a free fire brazier for us to use, and the camping with fire is awesome.

Beautiful experience great hosts, felt so at home , turned up in 36 degrees 90-percent humidity to free camp and our hosts allowed us to hook up to power as we were going to a wedding. Saved our lives 👍

Great camping spot with ease of access to everything in Maitland. Kids loved the friendly farm dogs Rusty and Murray and other nearby farm animals. Ducks, geese, cow and shetland pony. Showers worked well. Would recommend for easy accommodation near Maitland

We loved our stay! The facilities went above and beyond with hot water showers. The space felt incredibly private even with other campers on site. A great stop off on our way north. We also loved hanging out with the adorable farm pups.

Lovely and charming place. Would definitely recommend walking through the farm where there’s the round garden beds. It’s inspiring to see how productive and diverse it is! The hot showers were great. It’s just very close to a plane runway… so could be noisy or entertaining, depending on how you see things
