Kamameja Remote Bush Camp

I stayed one night on a solo trip and had an awesome time. The directions from the host were clear and easy to follow, making the drive in simple. The gravity trails were great fun with a good mix of challenge and a tough pedal back up to the top. The campsite itself is huge, with plenty of space and privacy - perfect for a quiet getaway. Highly recommend!

Very calm and very quiet camping area. The round the back site was quite private and wasn't to difficult to get to the camp site. Ian and Sue where lovely hosts making sure that we got to the camp site safely. Will likey return.

A Hidden Gem for Mountain Biking

We were genuinely surprised by the quality of the mountain bike trails at Kamameja. For a privately owned setup, the tracks are incredibly well built — clearly a lot of time and care has gone into designing and maintaining them. I was expecting basic trails through the bush, but these are proper MTB tracks that rival those in more established parks. The camp itself is remote, peaceful, and uncrowded — we had the whole place to ourselves during our stay. If you’re after solitude, quality riding, and a unique bush experience, Kamameja is well worth a visit. Highly recommended. Ian was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Despite having broken ribs at the time, he was still willing to have a crack at running the shuttle for us, which we really appreciated.

Had a fantastic weekend! The mountain bike trails were great, with a good variety for our group of riders who enjoyed the day of shuttling, and some family that tried out the xc trails too. Ian and Sue were easy to organise with and answered all our questions. The roads pretty good at the moment, we towed in a hybrid camper and camper trailer without any real issues but did use low range for some of the hills. Beautiful spot. Will be back.

Very much away from 'it all'

This spot is well off the beaten track but still only three to four hours from Sydney. I had a great couple of nights up on the ridge under a clear sky enjoying the stars and the absolute peace and quiet. The sites are well maintained, far enough away from each other for privacy, and the clean well-ventilated drop toilet is a big plus. Also great if you're into some more challenging bushwalking, and the mountain bike tracks look like a lot of fun, but a bit advanced for me. Definitely added to my list of places to return to.

I had a great stay at the point overnight. Great spot nice, quiet and I had the whole campsite to myself! Nothing but the sounds of nature and a cracking fire. The directions to get to camp were easy to follow.

Amazing camp and trails

Great campsites. It's so nice to be in a camp site that feels isolated, with no one else nearby. MTB trails are great for either riding or walking. There's a trail for everyone from beginner to expert downhill riders. Ian was a great host and provided a great shuttle service. We'll definitely be back.

Round the Back, Kamameja, is a secluded campsite with stunning views and plenty of wildlife. Ian and Sue are friendly hosts who provided us with more than enough firewood to make it a great winter camping experience. We highly recommend Kamameja and will definitely return.

Had such a lovely trip! The views are stunning and it’s such a great place to just take in the Australian bush. 100% will be coming back again! We stayed at the point which was stunning with the sunsets. The point is definitely a bit rocky in some areas so a decent mattress is recommended. Definitely requires a 4WD with some of the steep inclines on the gravel roads; we did it when it was dry and it was a lovely scenic drive. Toilet is kept immaculately! Owners were very kind and gave some great tips. Looking forward to our next trip back!

Our family of 5 stayed at The Point on the ridge top and loved it. Woke up to fog filled valleys every morning and watched the sun set over the mountains every night. All the sites are remote and secluded with plenty of space. Both Ian and sue are most welcoming and great hosts. Recommend staying if you like to get out bush. Plenty of walking and 4pm tracks to explore. Need to supply your own water.

Stayed here for 2 nights and Def one of the best camping spot. the drive to the camp site was just amazing! beautiful views and we also felt like we Have the whole campsite to ourselves . Host was very friendly and welcoming as well. Would love to come back here again soon!!

Good place, nice and quiet, barely saw anyone the entire time I was there. The last 30 mins on the road in is quite bumpy, I did fine in an AWD Tucson. Owner was great, highly recommended!

Round the back is a great little spot. It is remote enough to unwind while still close enough to great toilet amenities. I have visited this spot a few times and it is awesome value for money eyes and an amazing area to explore with natural beauty of the landscape and amazing wildlife. I look forward to going g back again

Campsite with MTB

Great spot in Wollemi national park with a variety of campsites around their private trail network. MTB perspective, trails are rugged but well cleared, great all mountain type experience. Beautiful scenery, very friendly hosts. 4WD maybe not required, as long as you have good clearance and patient on the road in - check first.

Trail Head was a great spot to camp to have access to the MTB tracks. Ian was very friendly and checked in time to time since we were the only ones using the MTB tracks. Any of the camp sites would be suitable if the shuttle service is used.

Unique location, a must do, some of the best MTB trails you will find. camping facilities are basic but everything you need real camping, even the drive is worth the effort. Genuine friendly hosts. We had a great day riding and exploring the area. Thanks Ian and Sue.
