3 nights at Truffle Farm Camping

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at the truffle farm. The farm animals were friendly and an extra excitement for the the kids. Perfect location not far from the pub and the river and perfectly peaceful and quiet. Tricia was an exceptional host and took the time to show us around and explain all about truffles. Portaloo was very handy- Just remember toilet paper and your own water to flush! Sites had beautiful picnic tables and fire pits. Looking forward to returning.

Really nice quiet and secluded spot amongst the tress with a couple of options for setup locations. Site are maintained really well, with plenty of clear walking tracks to explore, with an abundance of wildlife about. Directions were super simple to follow, and clearly signposted. Wouldn't hesitate to come back!

We had a fantastic time, the cottage is cozy and the views were lovely. We had some hot water issues but our host was amazing at getting this fixed asap for us. Great little getaway for us and the dogs who loves running around in the enclosed yard.

We had a very enjoyable and peaceful weekend at Spring Creek Valley Farm. Set in the green hills of beautiful sheep farming land where you see no one. We had lovely camp fires and a prestigious fire pit was supplied.

Absolutely loved our stay. Hosts were super nice and gave us clear instructions. The walk down to the river was amazing, a nice sandy area with shallow water perfect for our little dog (and a great spot for young children) very affordable in price and fire wood was provided. Amazing time at the Ridge. Really beautiful spot, stunning views with plenty of activities to keep us busy. The property and campsite are really well maintained, easy to access and John and Pippa were the perfect hosts. Highly recommend to take up the option for the delicious bread. The morning walk with John and the goats was well worth it, my 7 year old was looking forward to it all week, and it did not disappoint! We'll be back!

Weekend Trip to Stary Ponds

Mya's land was incredible. We booked very last minute and the host was incredibly accommodating. He set up the swings for our daughter and the fire for when we arrived! There was plenty of room for activities amongst the peace and quiet of the property. The tent was perfect for our family of three. Cannot recommend this experience highly enough!

3 nights at Scribbly Gum secluded bush camping

Site 4 is a good sized campsite. We had our caravan annexe and car on it with lots of leftover room. It's a short walk to a beautiful river, where it's nice for a swim on a hot day. The camp lives up to its name as there are many beautiful squiggly gum trees. Our host Phil was available when we arrived if we needed anything. The fact that there isn't any internet server available made it so much better to relax and unwind for the duration of our stay. I highly recommend Squiggly Gum Camp for a peaceful getaway.

Margot is very welcoming and cool! Great communication The property is a lovely example of remote NSW/ACT country, only 45min drive from Canberra. Beautiful views from the hill, especially during sunrise/sunset. The roads are all in good condition. Saw lots of wildlife, friendly birds, and a squirrel glider!! Best composting toilet I’ve ever used. The night lights throughout the property made it easy to find amenities. Awesome gas burner and stoves, as well as a deep dishwashing sink! The lights above these facilities are awesome 10/10 The dome is a cool place to hang out Instructions were clear and easy to follow Drinking water was easily accessible throughout the property! Struggled with the shower We’ll definitely be back !

A beautiful farm where we could relax, enjoy the spectacular sunrise and sunset, and commune with the friendly, happy farm animals! Our kids loved the farm, and 4WDing to the river was a highlight for them. Tricia and Rainer are fabulous hosts, and the property and facilities are very well-maintained. Recommend paying for the option of a hot shower if a hike to the river for a wash isn’t your style!

Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family. Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, put in watering infrastructure and built our house which we finally moved in when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. Over the ensuing years we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity and food. If your lucky you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. With the increased biodiversity you will find that in the mornings and evenings kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbit and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs. This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock. There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower. Around the dome is a firepit, drinking water and a camp kitchen. The firepit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. We also allow for your pets to stay onsite, this also includes horses. Southern Tablelands Bush Camping

Turn off highway down 6.5km private gravel road, then follow short dirt tracks into campsites. Choice of two secluded campgrounds over 1km apart; only one private group per campground. Campfires allowed when conditions permit, free firewood supplied. No services (power, water, sewerage, rubbish collection or wifi). Peppermint Gum Group Campground is well established and suits larger groups of friends or 2-3 families (max 16 guests). Located in 1.6ha (4 acres) of grassy woodland, it offers a good choice of mown campsites in shade or sun. A large communal clearing is centrally located for group gatherings, with a rustic camp kitchen hut for all-weather cooking and eating. A pit toilet is a short walk away, with handwashing station and views! Snowgums Campsite is a smaller campsite for up to 6 people, on a low forested ridge overlooking Sandhills Creek below. 3 separate mown tent sites and a campfire clearing in protected snowgums forest. Several kilometres of marked walking trails within the property. Explore the creek line, hike up the mountain to the old stone trig point, walk to the swimming hole on the creek with jetty, picnic area and rowboat. Numerous picnic spots. A swimming dam, jetty, and picnic sites are accessible via marked walking and driving tracks. There are also several kms of walking tracks directly from the campsite along Sandhills Creek and the 'mountain paddock'. Owners live further along the road on the property, and can be contacted if needed. A separate AirBnB house is located on the property; please respect the privacy of fellow guests.

Burrendah Farm Camp

200 acres of beautiful farmland situated on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. Enjoy a campsite overlooking the stunning Brindabellas, a small spot next to the dam, if you bring your 4WD, or a fabulous site next to the old cottage that comes complete with a flushing loo! Our beautiful border collie, Sollie, will naturally want to come say hi no matter which site you pick. There are plenty of local food and wine venues in the surrounding area for you to enjoy. Pets are welcome but we do have livestock on the property, so please keep them on leash. Campfires are allowed as long as there are no fire restrictions in place. All campers must have their own supplies and be self sufficient as we do not supply any amenities: you will need to be self-contained with own camping toilet, shower and water. Please do not dig a toilet hole, even though you leave it covered, it doesn't take long for the foxes to dig it up!! There is mobile reception. No shooting, archery or hunting. Camper trailers and caravans are welcome but can only stay at the easily accessible camp site. Please note, the road to the river is now impassable even for 4WD - we will update here when it is back up to scratch. But you do get your pick of 2 other lovely sites!

Travellers Village Rest

Stay on our 2 acre block on the edge of a small village in the southern tablelands of NSW. We are conveniently close to the Hume Highway, with a level grassed site with scattered gum trees providing shade. Travellers between Melbourne and Sydney can easily pull in off the highway for a quick set up for the night, then be back on the road the next morning. Alternatively, our site is an excellent base to stay for a few days while you explore Canberra and surrounds, as it is an hour to the Nation’s capital. Sure, we can hear the highway and occasional trains as they go past on the main line but there are also plenty of bird calls and some neighbouring wallabies. There is a small creek on the boundary of the camping block that attracts birds but is not suitable for swimming. We have town water available for campers and toilet facilities are a short 400m walk to the middle of the village. The nearest dump point is 15 minutes away in the town of Yass. Winters are excellent for small fires for cooking and then putting another log on to enjoy the rest of the evening under the stars. We have dedicated fire pits or you can use your own. As an added bonus, there are metal sculptures dotted around the block created by the host. Each site is spacious enough for up to 4 vans if you are travelling in a group. It is easy to navigate through the trees and use it as a drive through.
