Weekend Trip to Quorragami

This is a great property, with a lovely outlook over the rural area. There is a bathroom with flushing toilets and a tap for hand washing. A few other taps exist around the sites for washing etc (noting is not drinkable - it is dam water etc). Getting there, make sure to follow the Google maps instructions which take you in via Barraba Rd, as some other nav apps will try to send you down Swan Lane (which is not the right way, and will lead you into a dead end about 10km away). Also worth nothing that the last few kms (and inside the property) is unsealed road, with a couple shallow water crossings. But once at the location, you will be happy. Nice place, dog friendly, firepit friendly, nice and quiet. Would definitely go again.

4 nights at Quorragami

My wife, daughter, and I spent a weekend camping on Damien’s property and had a truly relaxing experience. The location is incredibly quiet and peaceful, perfect for unwinding. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent, but the highlight for us was definitely the large hot tub overlooking the valley. It's heated by a wood fire in a nearby fire pit and takes a couple of hours to warm up, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. We spent hours soaking in the tub while enjoying some local wines - pure bliss. The property has only recently opened to guests, and Damien and his family have done a fantastic job creating a luxury camping experience.

Weekend Trip to Canoelands Orchard Camping

I just got into camping, got new equipment. As I looked for somewhere near Sydney, there was a spot left on site 2. I was excited to do all the fruit picking (there were lemons, mandarine, could see some eggplants and tomatoes on the other side) and see animals (llamas, pigs, guinea pig, goats) which were great. It was beautiful too. It has shops with a cheap cafe so you won't have to prepare much. The only thing was, since it is a great place, there are lots of children and tourists coming. I also thought the site was all to ourselves but there was a big group taking all over so had to take a corner. Still overall, a great experience. I am sure no other camping sites have all these. Thanks for all the staffs being nice too:)

Great location for the families/Kids. Jaime looked after us well and has a wonderful site. The kids loved being able to explore and see where the food they eat comes from. Site was clean, well maintained and quiet.

Weekend Trip to Canoelands Orchard Camping

We had a fantastic time at Canoelands Orchard. It is very family friendly with great amenities and activities for the kids. It was lots of fun to see the animals, watch the visitors fruit picking nearby & a real treat to have an hot morning coffee from the cafe. Our campsite at Site 2 was very peaceful and quiet. We brought our caravan which got both shade throughout the day to keep cool but ample sunlight for the solar panels. A fire drum was provided and we booked the firewood bundle which was the perfect amount for our stay. I couldn’t recommend Canoelands Orchard more highly for a lovely local adventure.

Weekend Trip to Colo River Hut

This is a beautiful spot for a group to take full advantage of excellent amenities (including a spotless hot water shower and toilet) for a relaxing break. We had a bit of rain on our trip, and the large roofed-in deck made an excellent shelter for our tents to sit under. The river access is best in the afternoon (steep and muddy bank during morning high tide)

Weekend Trip to Banjo's Retreat

We were the only ones camping on the night we were at Banjo’s Retreat. Torrential rain made towing a caravan with a regular SUV a little tricky but Barry was super helpful to take the stress out of a day when Mother Nature wasn’t so happy! Recommend the first area, Wedding paddock in really bad weather, otherwise Sunset Paddock out the back is a beautiful spot. Barry will guide you accordingly!

Would absolutely recommend for solo travelers and families. There are cows on the property that come and say hello. The views are incredible, especially if you wake up early to see the sunrise above the trees. The property is enough off the main road that you don’t see anyone or hear cars but still close to town that you can pop in for a coffee or explore. The camp site is very big so that you and other campers aren’t right next to each other. Will definitely be back! Can’t recommend enough!

3 nights at Willow's Retreat

This place is amazing! Awesome secluded spot with amazing views across your own little valley. The star gazing was awesome here too. Our kids absolutely loved the place with a couple of awesome little walks around the property, seeing wallaroos, wallabies, cows & the beautiful horses. Drop toilet was clean and the firewood pile was awesome! Phil and Lyndel were amazing hosts stopping for chats, giving the kids a ride on the tractor and giving us a jump start too when the kids left the light on in the car all night. Will definitely return!

We were a group of 6 friends with a dog and we absolutely loved our stay at Wombat Flats Campsite. The shelter had all the basic amenities to enjoy the camping experience even in torrential rain. Highly recommended!

5 nights at Camping @ Emerald Park Equine

Beautiful scenery and so much wildlife. The camp site is flat and easily accessed, surrounded by lush farmland and trees. Whilst there we saw nesting rainbow lorikeets, many water birds, deer and wallabies. Just beautiful and also a handy location. Jade was very helpful. Would stay again.

Canoelands Orchard Camping and Fruit Picking, is located just 1 hour from Sydney's CBD. The property is 81 acres in total with a small shop and cafe onsite. We offer pick your own fruit so are open to the public daily (closed on occasion). Trading hours can be viewed at www.bookingscanoeladns.com. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

Quorragami

Nestled under the Watagan mountains escarpment in the Hunter valley, the property has some amazing views in all directions, but still remains secluded and hidden from view. The property has been selectively cleared to maintain a balance of open land and untouched bushland which has a boundary to the Watagans National Park. The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts. The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit! The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit. We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter. This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site. 16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin. The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife. There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase. There are 2 dams that can be fished on request (catch and release cod and bass)

If you would like to be further away you can camp near our dam which is becoming more popular as of late .If you would like to be totally tucked away in the bush we also have spots totally surrounded by bush, please let us know when booking. There is a hot outdoor shower and a toilet on site just a short walk from all the camp sites. Please take note that our dogs which love people and are super friendly wander around freely and will come and visit you, so if you do not like dogs please do not book in . Peaceful farm setting on a working horse property. Offering limited, laser levelled fully turfed sites, to allow space. The large lake is a feature of the property and abounds with bird life of many species. This campsite suits fully self sufficient campers with own drinking water and toilet/shower amenities. Pets are welcome by arrangement, especially your horses (please contact us to arrange holidaying with your dog or horse before booking). In summer you may see mumma swan and her baby cygnets, as well as lots of ducklings. Drop in your paddle board or kayak for a leisurely paddle. Take a relaxed stroll around the property and depending on the season you might spy a wylie fox or a turtle laying eggs. Deer occasionally visit and echidnas and wombats, although nocturnal animals sometimes are a precious sight. There are platypus in the creek and fish in the lake.k Pre-booked riding lessons available. We have a state forest over the road suited to bush walking or mountain bikes. Ammo the horse who galloped out in the Sydney 2000 Olympics opening ceremony is buried here at Lakestead Farm. We love to speak about our Olympic experience. Please note these campsite are for 2 people with one car only (children welcome to visit with adults). NOTE: There aror showers - campers need to BRING their own. We love our pristine environment so no bush poos allowed. We are located minutes from the M1, easy to break your journey, 40 minutes from Wahroonga and Newcastle exit. Just 5 minutes drive to Wyong Centre with shopping centre and good restaurants, and 20 minutes drive to beaches. Off the ground fires are allowed outside bushfire season. Wood to be supplied by campers. Our property is designed to welcome small groups of people who want a quiet getaway. Because we like to keep it more intimate, The property is not designed for large groups of 10 or more wanting a social gathering or party. We are an easy 40 minute drive to the Hunter Valley wineries and concerts in the vines The Lake can be fun to swim or paddle around but all visitors must wear life vests whilst in the water. Locally we have some great festivals to visit the Glenworth Food and Wine festival, Yarramalong valley Spring fair with Scarecrow comp, Wyong Love Lanes festival, Harvest festival, Ratmines Catalina Festival, Brisbane water Oyster Festival to name a few. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ. Camping toilet At Lakestead Farm we pride ourselves on our beautiful environment. We have lots of wildlife around. We are very upset when visitors to the Farm dig holes and poo in them. Leaving toilet paper on top. This is so unfair to us and future campers on our sites. Because this has occurred we will only allow campers with camping toilets. In order for us to accept your request you need to confirm you have a toilet. Don’t say yes if you don’t have one, Checks will be done, if you don’t have a portable toilet you will be asked to leave and your fees won’t be refunded. We are sorry if this offends anyone, we love to share our property but only with people who will love and respect it.
