Caravan parks near Murwillumbah

·

Caravan campers can't go wrong in a town with a name that means "good campsite." Welcome to Murwillumbah, a NSW naturescape perched on the banks of the Tweed River. Bordering Queensland and less than an hour's jaunt from the Gold Coast, here caravanners can hike the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, and then set up at a farm stay with offerings like powered caravan campsites, running water, toilets, and hot showers. Consider visiting Tropical Fruit World for exotic farm tours and fruit-tastings—though the orchard is open all year, late spring and early summer is the best time to go for tropical fruit season in New South Wales. Campers who visit in late August may catch the Tweed Banana Festival, an agricultural celebration that draws thousands of tourists to Murwillumbah. And at any time of year, campers can follow the Tweed Valley's winding creeks an hour north to Springbrook National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site with bushwalks, waterfalls, and stunning viewpoints. Holiday parks near the entrance generally have campsites that are unpowered but equipped with toilets and potable water. Pets and campfires are welcome.

As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot. We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek. We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy. As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. It became a dwelling for our kids for a period of time, until they grew up and left to conquer the big wide world.
