We are Marilyn and Peter, we own, live and run a mixed farming business from this beautiful land, located in the Central Tablelands NSW.
The country varies between undulating and steep land and has 7 km of double frontage Bell River running through it.
The river can range from rapidly flowing to the more usual steady flowing and is most often very clear. The river has numerous swimming spots, some with a rocky base, and some with sand. The winding river and the varying countryside is incredibly peaceful and beautiful and is a perfect retreat for those looking to disconnect and relax.
The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River.
Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature.
The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river.
We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location.
We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too.
We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look.
From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo.
We are so glad to let you know we have a new (but intentionally rustic) structure which houses a shower powered by gas and solar with gravity fed water.
Showers need to be short because water supply is limited.
In a separate space is a gas BBQ and sink.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth.
Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William.
Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world.
The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek.
There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road .
Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

Rosnay is a pioneering organic farm in the Central West.
The Statham family moved to Rosnay in 1996 and began renovating the run down farm using organic and biodynamic methods. They planted the first vines in 1997, and olives in 1999, as well as thousands of native trees, all planted and grown without any chemicals.
The exclusive camping area is on the banks of a old farm dam in the middle of the olive grove. There are sheep and alpacas, and plenty of birds and kangaroos living there too.

Artisans Park is located 45 minutes from Bathurst and is the closest city for food and fuel. We do not have local shops or fuel stations.
The London bus is suitable for children as the upper deck houses the bedroom. The lower deck houses the kitchen and bathroom with a front deck complete with barbecue and amazing views.
Relax and watch the kangaroos and eagles from your private deck. Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows.
The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water.
There is a toilet and shower downstairs.
The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels.
This bus has featured on many TV shows and is often featured
in travel magazines, including

We are approximately 228.9km via Great Western Highway/A32 from Sydney CBD. It is part of the village known as Newbridge which is 3km from the property. It is an easy 30km drive to Bathurst and 50km to Orange with only 15km away from Blayney. La Pinata is also a short drive to Milthorpe and Carcoar - all lovely award winning quaint towns worth visiting where you can take in the history and enjoy great food and wine.
A great country escape destination! Even the Newbridge Train Station remains treasured by residents and fondly remembered as the stopover for Queen Elizabeth II during her 1954 royal visit!
Newbridge is fortunate to have a local pub, known as the Gladestone Hotel. A a restaurant serving modern cuisine and live music most Sunday afternoons (need to check with Pub for confirmation of entertainment 02 6368 1004). This is approximately 2.7kms from La Pinata!
The Property
La Pinata is circa 161 Ha (400 acres) in size. Altitude of approx 900m.
Over half of the land is clear, the land is mostly undulating with some steeper areas. There are 7 paddocks. Stock water is supplied by dams in all paddocks with a permanent Evans Plains Creek that flows through the property which is a wonderful spot for bushwalking. There is also a bore that provides water to our water tanks.
The Property also offers a pine forest, which is cooling on hot summer days, and in the colder months, it is a winter wonderland adventure. A perfect part of the property to do many things: picnicking in the wild whilst collecting pinecones, wildflowers or simply admiring the majestic views of the Fitzgerald Valley and the Blue Mountains over a glass of local wine and cheese.
The Barn Style Cabin
La Pinata, for a unique glamping experience, offers a barn style cabin dwelling with all the comforts of a home but with a rustic cabin experience.
A majority of the barn style cabin and its amenities have been built from recycled material, this includes the furniture which is mostly recycled or pre-loved. We are also using off the grid electricity and water supply.
It has 7 sleeping rooms with 1 ensuite and 2 Bathrooms. One of the 7 sleeping rooms has a cot.
It has a well-equipped open Kitchen with 5 pit stove, oven, blender, and toaster.
The open living area has 3 spaces to enjoy:
• 8–10-seater dining area
• 3-piece lounge area (TV, with Netflix and Foxtel)
• A study/reading Nook area
• Another area just off the kitchen is a lovely space where you can read or relax. We have also provided a dart board and other board games for those competitive nights of fun!

Ask the host regarding our Picasso Paint and Wine Experience at La Pinata for groups of 8 to 12 guests. It is a lovely way to enjoy the afternoon sunset with your group, enjoying your wine and painting! 4 weeks' notice required to coordinate.
Vale Creek Wines
At La Pinata we can organise a wine tasting experience. The winery is called Vale Creek, located approximately 23.5kms from Newbridge (Gladestone Hotel). Vale Creek’s Cellar Door provides tastings in a relaxed setting overlooking the winery. Their wines are from clones sourced from superior vineyards in Italy – www.valecreek.com.au.
The owners are delightful and welcoming. They are opened most weekends. The winery has many events occurring through the month and if it coincides with your trip, we will be more than happen to share the event with you and if you wish we can organise the wine tasting booking for you as well. Ask the Host about this item so it can be organised.
Driving inside our property. Our internal roads are constantly maintained whilst 2WD drive vehicles have come and gone from our place without an issue, it is recommended to use a 4WD vehicle.

There are two campsites, Camp Crudine Kitchen and Camp Crudine Riverside. When you make your booking whether for 2 people or a group of family and friends the chosen campsite is all yours for the length of your stay.
If you need supplies Sofala is just 8 km away, drop in and explore the town. Hill End is 28 km which is another Historic town to explore.
Camp Crudine is great for kids and adults alike to have a go at panning for gold or try out the metal detector. All findings must be returned to the host, lol.
Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided. Bonfires are not permitted at any time. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down. Firewood is available at the Sofala General Store.
Campers are required to bring everything they need and take all rubbish when leaving.

3 Veg Farm is a small organic urban market garden on the edge of Bathurst. Established in late 2020, with over 1000 native species planted it is slowly emerging as an eco sanctuary. More than 50 different cold climate seasonal vegetables and flowers are grown on 3 acres and sold at the Bathurst Farmers' Markets, as well as from the farm gate shop and box deliveries around town. You can preorder a box of veges for your dinner. Watch the daily goings on of planting and harvesting, or get involved and learn all about permaculture - workshops and/or volunteering available.
(Please note that this is an urban farm beside the train line on the edge of town, not a wilderness, so some industrial noises and trains can sometimes be heard around the clock.)

We are Marilyn and Peter, we own, live and run a mixed farming business from this beautiful land, located in the Central Tablelands NSW.
The country varies between undulating and steep land and has 7 km of double frontage Bell River running through it.
The river can range from rapidly flowing to the more usual steady flowing and is most often very clear. The river has numerous swimming spots, some with a rocky base, and some with sand. The winding river and the varying countryside is incredibly peaceful and beautiful and is a perfect retreat for those looking to disconnect and relax.
The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River.
Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature.
The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river.
We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location.
We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too.
We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look.
From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo.
We are so glad to let you know we have a new (but intentionally rustic) structure which houses a shower powered by gas and solar with gravity fed water.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth.
Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William.
Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world.
The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek.
There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road .
Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

Relax and watch the kangaroos and eagles from your private deck. Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows.
The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water.
There is a toilet and shower downstairs.
The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels.

We are approximately 228.9km via Great Western Highway/A32 from Sydney CBD. It is part of the village known as Newbridge which is 3km from the property. It is an easy 30km drive to Bathurst and 50km to Orange with only 15km away from Blayney. La Pinata is also a short drive to Milthorpe and Carcoar - all lovely award winning quaint towns worth visiting where you can take in the history and enjoy great food and wine.
A great country escape destination! Even the Newbridge Train Station remains treasured by residents and fondly remembered as the stopover for Queen Elizabeth II during her 1954 royal visit!
Newbridge is fortunate to have a local pub, known as the Gladestone Hotel. A a restaurant serving modern cuisine and live music most Sunday afternoons (need to check with Pub for confirmation of entertainment 02 6368 1004). This is approximately 2.7kms from La Pinata!
The Property
La Pinata is circa 161 Ha (400 acres) in size. Altitude of approx 900m.
Over half of the land is clear, the land is mostly undulating with some steeper areas. There are 7 paddocks. Stock water is supplied by dams in all paddocks with a permanent Evans Plains Creek that flows through the property which is a wonderful spot for bushwalking. There is also a bore that provides water to our water tanks.
The Property also offers a pine forest, which is cooling on hot summer days, and in the colder months, it is a winter wonderland adventure. A perfect part of the property to do many things: picnicking in the wild whilst collecting pinecones, wildflowers or simply admiring the majestic views of the Fitzgerald Valley and the Blue Mountains over a glass of local wine and cheese.
The Barn Style Cabin
La Pinata, for a unique glamping experience, offers a barn style cabin dwelling with all the comforts of a home but with a rustic cabin experience.
A majority of the barn style cabin and its amenities have been built from recycled material, this includes the furniture which is mostly recycled or pre-loved. We are also using off the grid electricity and water supply.
It has 7 sleeping rooms with 1 ensuite and 2 Bathrooms. One of the 7 sleeping rooms has a cot.
It has a well-equipped open Kitchen with 5 pit stove, oven, blender, and toaster.
The open living area has 3 spaces to enjoy:

At La Pinata we can organise a wine tasting experience. The winery is called Vale Creek, located approximately 23.5kms from Newbridge (Gladestone Hotel). Vale Creek’s Cellar Door provides tastings in a relaxed setting overlooking the winery. Their wines are from clones sourced from superior vineyards in Italy – www.valecreek.com.au.
The owners are delightful and welcoming. They are opened most weekends. The winery has many events occurring through the month and if it coincides with your trip, we will be more than happen to share the event with you and if you wish we can organise the wine tasting booking for you as well. Ask the Host about this item so it can be organised.
Driving inside our property. Our internal roads are constantly maintained whilst 2WD drive vehicles have come and gone from our place without an issue, it is recommended to use a 4WD vehicle.

More than 50 different cold climate seasonal vegetables and flowers are grown on 3 acres and sold at the Bathurst Farmers' Markets, as well as from the farm gate shop and box deliveries around town. You can preorder a box of veges for your dinner. Watch the daily goings on of planting and harvesting, or get involved and learn all about permaculture - workshops and/or volunteering available.
(Please note that this is an urban farm beside the train line on the edge of town, not a wilderness, so some industrial noises and trains can sometimes be heard around the clock.)
Bathurst shops, restaurants and Mt Panorama are just 5 minutes drive away. Explore our heritage as Australia's oldest inland city, and there is a lovely little pastry cafe right around the corner.
Bathurst is central for exploring the outlying goldmining & historic villages of Sofala, Hill End, Rockley, Carcoar as well as the Bridle Track and a beautiful drive along Fish River to Tarana and Evans Crown walking track.

We loved camping by the river on the well kept grounds amongst the shady trees. The sound of the gentle rush of the rapids and sleeping in a swag watching the stars was a lovely way to wind down to sleep. Being woken in the morning by the song of a variety of birds and visited during the day by the friendly property horses amongst native deer, kangaroos, lizards & birds. A place for peace and calm. The drive to the camp ground can be a serious 4WD for beginners with stunning views from the hill tops. We would highly recommend The Rapids 4WD Only and thank our hosts of Watton Airstrip, Damien and Tammie for all their efforts put into the property for all camper's convenience and enjoyment and also their great communication ensuring we were aware of how and where to make our way to their property and to the campsite. Thanks to Hi Camp for bringing hosts and guests to connect.

It was really lovely! Lots of space to stay private. The river was beautiful and lovely for a dip. Lots of horses and alpacas. A fox walked around our camp at night. It was clean. Great long drop toilet.
We met Damian, a really nice man who made us very welcome. I am glad we found this spot and will be back every year.

Felt very welcomed Awesome campsite Nice and quiet Good distance from fellow campers The 4wd track into the campsite was challenging, but was well worth it. Took my camper trailer down and up no worries. Saw the platypus every morning at the Deep Spot campsite.

What a beautiful place. Damien and Tammie have created the perfect space for you to make your camping experience your own. Banjos Run is set back from the river with a view over the water, nice flat grassed camping spots, fireplace and shade in the mornings if you set up near the huge gums. The camp sites are set a long way apart so you really have your own space and plenty of it so you're not camped on top of other people. The toilet is clean and only a short walk. The river easily accessible. Given how dry and hot it's been the area was well grassed and the friendly horses seemed content grazing. We met Damien and Tammie on arrival and during our stay and they are perfect hosts. The track down is 4x4 - my stock Patrol did it easily. I would expect anyone with any 4x4 experience wouldn't even baulk at it. We enjoyed a campfire, a little swimming and fishing. We had a great stay and will definitely be back!

We had the most amazing stay at Watton Airstrip! The property is absolutely beautiful, stunning river views, peaceful surrounds, and even though we accidentally booked during the Bathurst 12 Hour race weekend (when the property was fully booked), there was still so much space between campsites. It genuinely felt like we had our own private little slice of paradise on the river.
We didn’t realise the track in was a proper 4WD track, but Damien gave us great advice and tips before we headed down. On the way out, we thought we’d done a wheel bearing on our caravan and Tammie and Damien went above and beyond. They had us park up at their house, jacked the van up, and helped us check it over.
Absolutely stunning land, super friendly and helpful hosts, and just an all-round fantastic experience. We’re already talking about planning our next trip back! Highly recommend!!

Our second time staying but our first time down by the river. The Rapids is a lovely spot, but note that it is one of the furthest from the very cute toilet, but we would still certainly recommend it. The road down is definitely 4WD only. We have a newish VW campervan set up for off-road and managed it okay, but it is rocky so you need to pick your line. We can also recommend the homemade bread delivered to our door! Loved the ambience of the roaming horses and kangaroos.

Expect to be impressed, You can see the effort that Damien and Tammie have poured into the property, really well maintained, while remaining natural, sites have been selected with campers in mind, we arrived to a warm and friendly greeting, and everything we needed to to know to get to the site. Super helpful, fun track in, and out, a little more challenging after a night of rain, but still totally manageable, loved it, we will be back often.

The drive down and back out is a bit hairy if you have a small SUV and are not much of a 4WD-er (like me) but it was worth it to enjoy the river frontage. I visited during the week when there were very few people around, very serene and still enough water in the mighty Wambuul (Macquarie) for a swim even after a dry spell.
