Located on the Camden Haven River in Dunbogan, we offer a select few grassy sites overlooking our private saltwater lake, with North Brother Mountain providing a stunning backdrop.
Please note that we welcome fully self-contained caravans and motorhomes — apologies but the sites are not really suitable for tents/swags. There is no water, power or ablution facilities on site. Grey water is not an issue.
Although the property spans several acres, we offer only a few sites to ensure serenity, space, and ample room to manoeuvre. All sites are on raised grassy ground among Moreton Bay figs and gum trees.

If we are here to greet you on arrival you can fill up with potable rain water at our cottage.
The Hastings is still tidal at our place so the access and flow varies throughout the day - we generally take our littlest kids down at low tide. Swim, fish or explore our hiking trails though the old growth riparian vegetation along winding creeks. If you are into birds you will see plenty here - in the last 12 months we have counted nearly 100 different species on our property!

Drop into the Vibe Coffee House, pick up "the best" coffee and a sensational meal before perusing the many treasures of Wauchope's specialty shops.
A day trip to the Comboyne plateu is a rewarding experience and enhanced by enjoying a meal at the magnificant Byabarra Cafe on your way through.
Whilst the meals equall those of any capital city restaurant, the view of the valley will take your breath away.
And then; there's Port Macquarie (20 mins) and sorrounds! one of the most scenic and attraction packed areas of Australia's eastern seaboard. Stunning beaches, amazing walks, top class restaurants, the list goes on.

If you value your privacy, then you are at the right place. We have just one exclusive campsite on our 40 acres. You are hidden away and guaranteed privacy from the host accommodations.
Private access is by 4WD only.
Farm route is accessible by 2WD in dry weather - check with hosts before or on confirmation of booking.
Access during unpredictable weather will depend on your vehicle/camper/caravan configuration. Please check with host prior if you are unsure. We are more than willing to make it work for you.
On arrival, guests are met by host and directed to the site.
Camp site is a secluded, grassy spot beside the creek, among tall gum trees, where you can enjoy peace and serenity. Perfect for families or group of friends. The creek has lovely shallow areas suitable for kids to splash and play in.
Occasionally you may see sea eagles soaring overhead, they nest in one of the trees along the creek beside your camp area.
Camp area has a composting drop toilet housed in an outback style 'dunny' shed. Fresh rainwater is available.
The site has a fire pit and some light fire wood laying around from fallen branches, plus mesh to place over the fire pit if you wish to use the fire for cooking. (There will always be smaller branches and kindling available for fires however, larger and longer burning wood is not guaranteed all season.)
Well behaved pets are welcome. You may be visited by some cattle during your stay...they will keep out of your way.
There are some large and unique trees to admire and keep your eye out for wildflowers that grow along the creek. There is an active eagle's nest in one of the trees.
Guests are welcome to explore down the creek where you'll find some great swimming holes.
For a relaxing stroll, guests are welcome to walk the farm fence lines which are regularly maintained with a mower.
There are so many beautiful local attractions to visit. Our local village is less than 2kms from the property where you will find Byabarra Cafe for excellent refreshments. Then a gorgeous drive up onto the plateau and you will find Comboyne village with a historic 1905 goal, Larrikins Lockup.
And if you are feeling more adventurous, Rawson Falls and Ellenborough Falls make lovely day trips. And Comboyne Rock provides some stunning views.
Upon arrival your host will provide you with an information pack on local attractions and general Hip Camp house rules and guidelines for your safety and enjoyment.

As we are located on the North Shore of Port Macquarie, and to access the property you must cross the river using the Settlement Point Ferry
The Hibbard Ferry operates (6am - 10am / 2pm-7pm) Mon -Fri and all day on Saturdays and Sundays is only 300 m from the campsite, making it easy to pop into town, explore Port Macquarie’s attractions, or visit the region’s wineries. For longer stays, a discounted ferry pass can be purchased on your behalf.

North Shore Beach is a 5-minute drive away, and the local gin distillery is just a 15–20 minute drive up Maria River Road.

Port Macquarie is known for its beautiful beaches, coastal scenery and walks, koala hospital, local strawberry and tomato picking, and 4WDing at nearby beaches and through Cairncross State Forest.
Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement.
The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. It's off-grid stuff - no power, no showers, little to no phone reception but one of the most peaceful places you can experience.
There will sometimes be cattle in the paddock - so to make this plain there could be cow poo around your area. If that is a worry to you, it's best you camp on a farm without livestock. If you do camp with us, and our cows are in the paddock, they are friendly and won't hurt you, though they can be quite inquisitive. We endeavor to keep our moo friends in other paddocks, but this is a working farm and we have to manage our pastures and put our animals where they are able to be safe and have enough food to stay healthy.
If you're here at the right time of year, you might catch a Bass or see a Platypus (but only if you're very, very quiet). There is a lot of bird life (Kingfishers, Wrens, Finches amongst others), reptiles (water dragons and lace monitors), and - of course - our farm animals.

The camp site is on the river bank furnished with a gazebo and 2 tables, making it a lovely place to set up, cook over a fire, star gaze, swim, canoe or fish. Being only one site at present you can be assured of peace and privacy .
Keep warm by the fire at night and enjoy the fresh clean air away from the city life. Firewood can be purchased by the barrowload. Just ask your hosts or purchase with your booking.
As we have chickens, ducks, turkeys and horses on the property, we cannot allow guests to bring pets.
15 minutes drive South East will take you to Port Macquarie, local surf beaches, shops, cafes and restaurants. 15 minutes South West will take you to Wauchope with it's quaint shops, sumptuous bakery and the wonderful hinterland.
Its just a short walk to Stoney Aqua Park, state forest walks (also great for bike riding), Ricardoes strawberries and tomatoes. Wildnets and skirmish are also nearby for the energetic; Otherwise relax in your deckchair and enjoy the serenity.

Camp site is a secluded, grassy spot beside the creek, among tall gum trees, where you can enjoy peace and serenity. Perfect for families or group of friends. The creek has lovely shallow areas suitable for kids to splash and play in.
Occasionally you may see sea eagles soaring overhead, they nest in one of the trees along the creek beside your camp area.
Camp area has a composting drop toilet housed in an outback style 'dunny' shed. Fresh rainwater is available.
The site has a fire pit and some light fire wood laying around from fallen branches, plus mesh to place over the fire pit if you wish to use the fire for cooking. (There will always be smaller branches and kindling available for fires however, larger and longer burning wood is not guaranteed all season.)
Well behaved pets are welcome. You may be visited by some cattle during your stay...they will keep out of your way.
There are some large and unique trees to admire and keep your eye out for wildflowers that grow along the creek. There is an active eagle's nest in one of the trees.
Guests are welcome to explore down the creek where you'll find some great swimming holes.
For a relaxing stroll, guests are welcome to walk the farm fence lines which are regularly maintained with a mower.
There are so many beautiful local attractions to visit. Our local village is less than 2kms from the property where you will find Byabarra Cafe for excellent refreshments. Then a gorgeous drive up onto the plateau and you will find Comboyne village with a historic 1905 goal, Larrikins Lockup.
And if you are feeling more adventurous, Rawson Falls and Ellenborough Falls make lovely day trips. And Comboyne Rock provides some stunning views.

There will sometimes be cattle in the paddock - so to make this plain there could be cow poo around your area. If that is a worry to you, it's best you camp on a farm without livestock. If you do camp with us, and our cows are in the paddock, they are friendly and won't hurt you, though they can be quite inquisitive. We endeavor to keep our moo friends in other paddocks, but this is a working farm and we have to manage our pastures and put our animals where they are able to be safe and have enough food to stay healthy.
If you're here at the right time of year, you might catch a Bass or see a Platypus (but only if you're very, very quiet). There is a lot of bird life (Kingfishers, Wrens, Finches amongst others), reptiles (water dragons and lace monitors), and - of course - our farm animals.

Ironbark Riverside Retreat is located in the heart of the beautiful Mid North Coast. It is situated on a peaceful 5 acre, river front hobby farm and is ideal for a weekend get away or en route to - any where else in NSW!
The camp site is on the river bank furnished with a gazebo and 2 tables, making it a lovely place to set up, cook over a fire, star gaze, swim, canoe or fish. Being only one site at present you can be assured of peace and privacy .
Keep warm by the fire at night and enjoy the fresh clean air away from the city life. Firewood can be purchased by the barrowload. Just ask your hosts or purchase with your booking.
As we have chickens, ducks, turkeys and horses on the property, we cannot allow guests to bring pets.
15 minutes drive South East will take you to Port Macquarie, local surf beaches, shops, cafes and restaurants. 15 minutes South West will take you to Wauchope with it's quaint shops, sumptuous bakery and the wonderful hinterland.
Its just a short walk to Stoney Aqua Park, state forest walks (also great for bike riding), Ricardoes strawberries and tomatoes. Wildnets and skirmish are also nearby for the energetic; Otherwise relax in your deckchair and enjoy the serenity.
As we have livestock on the property we cannot allow campers to bring their own animals.

Always a great stay. Unfortunately the weather and the fish weren’t overly friendly this time but we love our stay there. Always kept tidy. Great for a campfire on Site 1 no matter what the weather is thanks to the camp kitchen. Thanks Scott for keeping it all neat and tidy

We had an amazing stay at The Hatch and couldn’t recommend it more. Susan and Bernard were incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts, which made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
The campsites are spacious and well laid out, with large shelters and easy access to the river. Toilets and showers were spotless and clearly very well maintained. The setting is wonderfully relaxing and quiet—perfect for switching off and enjoying nature.
For families, the animal nursery and the abundance of playground equipment would be a real highlight. We also loved the free kayaks, which were fantastic for exploring the river, and there are plenty of great spots for fishing too.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we will definitely be coming back.

Lovely place, very peaceful. Upon arrival I was greeted by Astro (a very adorable dog), who followed me to camp, hung around and kept me company whenever I'd arrive back onto site. Would definitely recommend staying here, it was very convenient when it came to visiting Wauchope and Port Macquarie.
