Being only 2 hours from Sydney and 470 metres off the Pacific Highway, Nth of Newcastle & a 40 drive to Port Stephens, we are set on 25 acres, with lge sites, most drive through (dry weather only) for your convenience.
Hot showers are available ($1 coin for 2 min hot water), toilets and a disability accessible bathroom.
The camp kitchen is large and well equipped with tables, chairs, a lounge area & tv for you to enjoy. The kitchen has cooking facilities, a kettle, toaster, microwave, prepping areas & more making it a comfortable space to prepare and eat meals under cover. Campers have reception to 4G.
We have a turning lane entrance with boom gate security.
When you arrive and set up, you will be able to ramble around our property and enjoy the ambience of the beautiful tree studded campground. Sit back in the afternoon and enjoy nature at its best and then a beautiful warm campfire, perfect!!
Whether you're camping in a tent or vehicle, there's plenty of space to set up. The campsite is grassy and level, and 2WD accessible. I have a small private property with grass campsites by a tidal outlet to Port Stephens harbour. We do not offer secluded camp sites away from other people on large acreage.
You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi.
Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Yes there are mozzies because you are near water, so bring repellent.
Pets are welcome but must stay on a leash throughout your stay.

Our property is private so we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities most suited to you. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods.
Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety).
The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business.
Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up.
Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns).

We are a farm forestry property located in the middle of the north shore of Port Stephens. Two hours north of Hornsby. 1 hour north of Newcastle.
2 mins to Pindimar beach, 9 minutes to Coles and bottle shop, 11 minutes to surf beach Bennett Beach 12 minutes to Jimmy's Beach.
Pets are welcome please pick up after them. Unfortunately, due to a recent incident. All dogs from now on must be on a leash at all times. The dangerous dog in question bit 4 people in less than 24 hours. Including my husband twice. You know your dog, But you cannot predict what another campers's dog is going to be like. Any dog on the NSW dangerous dogs list is absolutely not welcome here.
Free use of fire pits and free firewoods. You will need to be split the logs yourself. axes and wheelbarrows are supplied.
Hot showers and decent toilets, Good mobile phone signal. Two Communal Fridges .There is lots of space for campers. We have two sites with shade, four without. We suggest you bring a decent quality gazebo or equivalent. If you choose a non-shady site and then it's sunny, it is beyond our control.
We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm.
PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. No limit on number of tents.
2) IF You Have more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking.
3) Depending on the weather on the day, we may have to limit the number of vehicles that can be parked adjacent to your campsite.
4) NO late night check in . If you are a group larger than two people, the check in time is between midday and sunset. Do not arrive after sunset. If in doubt call.
5) As the business name suggests (mountain) our property is on a hill. we are creating more level campsites. This year the weather has been terrible. From record rain to drought conditions in 3 months. Because of the earthworks there has been a bit of dust, which we have tried to control with grass seed and then no rain.... once each section of earthworks is done. Shade trees are being planted. But they are slow to grow.
6) Please check weather report a minimum of 7 days before you arrive and CANCEL your booking if you are not sure.
7) We cannot control the wind, the sun, rain, or lack of rain.

We are only 10-15 mins to Nelson Bay centre.
Beaches are just down the road also which includes Birubi Beach which goes all the way to Stockton and many more near by.
Right next door is Murrays Brewery and Sunset in the Vines, very handy to be able to walk next door (a really short walk) and have dinner and a drink.
Shark and Ray Centre is 10 mins drive also and then there is the Butterfly House and Shark and Ray Rescue Centre just behind us on Marsh Road.
Whilst we offer a space on our front area next to the dam, it is only a small area but plenty of room for a large van or RV with room to put out your awning provided you park where we suggest. We supply a fire pit and wood if you would like, please let us know on arrival or before you arrive so we can have it ready, (this in not an extra it is included in the price). We can offer electricity for an extra cost of $10 per night if needed. The main house is at the top of the circular drive way, you will be camping (Approx 50 m from the house). Pictures show this. We endeavour to appreciate your privacy as much as possible.

Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We offer a number of grassy, level sites, some with shade, others with sun, all with bushland to the rear. There is also a pond/dam area, and lots of wildlife. We have a fire pit for communal use (subject to fire bans and weather conditions).
The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. You will also see lots of different parrots and birds. We even have goannas and echidnas about and the black cockatoos will come in for a visit.
You will need to bring your own camp toilet, as we don't have facilities here.
Pets are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times as we have lots of wildlife around!
Please note, when we have heavy rain, the ground can get boggy. We are very mindful to keep tabs on the weather for our guests, and will be in good communication with you in the lead up to your stay should we suspect there to be any issues. Whilst camping by the beautiful dam is lovely in fine weather, when it's raining, it’s best to camp towards the front of the property on higher ground. We'll advise the best solution in these circumstances.
LET US KNOW about your preferred booking even if it appears booked out, as we can probably make it work or have ALTERNATIVE solutions for you!

The large campsite and cabin are located on a level, grassed area with plenty of space to pitch tents, or park campers and caravans.
Children just love the level grassy land to run and just be a kid. It's perfect for games like cricket, soccer, and football to name a few.
The amenities block has both toilet and shower, and there is also power available to connect up to. A large sheltered area, our camp kitchen, includes fridge, barbeque, electricity, kettle, table, chairs and more.
Enjoy bird watching, visiting wallabies in the late afternoon, or looking for fossils in the seasonal creek just a few metres away.
The historical town of Stroud is only 10 or so minutes away if you need supplies.
Karuah River is close by for swimming and fishing, and the Barrington Tops National Park is approximately 50 minutes away.
Ride Dungog is located at The Common in Dungog, for mountain bike enthusiasts. The area includes 650 acres offering trails for all different levels.
While visiting Dungog, there are boutique cafes and shops, a historic cinema, and a lot more to see as you wander through the streets.

Explore 10 acres of cleared lush lawns, 82 acres of natural rainforest, bush wilderness with walking/riding tracks throughout [depending on weather conditions]. An ideal place for your next secure, safe and quiet stopover, whilst you “rest your weary head at night”. Situated between Newcastle and Port Macquarie, 7 kms via Bulahdelah with the beaches, lakes, mountains of Seal Rocks, Forster, Port Stephens, Gloucester, Myall Lakes, the Mid North Coast within easy drive. Our Kindred Acres is in the perfect position with so much to offer locally including wildlife, fishing, boating, swimming, bush walking, bird watching, bike riding, relaxing, and the overwhelming enjoyment of mother nature at her best. Our jaw-dropping Camp Kitchen has all things required to make your stay as relaxing as possible.

Guests to be self-sufficient with their own water, power, shower/toilet facilities, cooking facilities. Bathroom facilities on request.
Camp Kitchen is a communal area for all guests, leave clean and tidy.
Leave No Trace – please take all rubbish/items and dispose correctly.
Dogs on request, friendly and well behaved, restrained on arrival as we have free range chooks. Pick up dog poo and take it with you.
National Parks are nearby, you should familiarise yourself with their domestic pet rules; locations, all available on the NSWNP website.
Fires – on arrangement, you are welcome to bring your own firepit and firewood or OKA can supply. Before setting up, we will organise pavers and sand to ensure our grass is protected. We do have firewood available to purchase, 20kg @ $20.00.
Firewood/Kindling collection is not permitted without our consent.
Permission to use generators & chainsaws must be sought. If granted, generators to be super quiet and off between 9pm and 7am.
Our 10pm noise curfew is for the enjoyment of all guests.

We were the only campers on the property entrance gate. Little to no traffic and any passersby were respectful of our privacy. Tim and Vicki were welcoming and made sure we had access to water and farm fresh eggs. Enjoyed our stay.

We went during the hottest part of the summer, but we were so glad that Mei was very kind to reserve a perfect shady spot for us. With four little kids in tow, that bit of cool space made the camping experience much more relaxing.
The campsite has an amazing mountain view, especially at sunset. We got lots of great photos with the kids jumping on the trampoline! We also saw lots of nice wildlife, like deer and bunnies during our night walk.
Overall, the facilities are excellent, with easy access to the hot water showers and a clean fridge. We highly recommend this place!

I loved this little Hipcamp and if I find myself down this way again I will definitely be staying here. It has such a relaxed vibe about it and Kellie is very welcoming and helpful. The campsite has an amazing view, is very quiet, and is close to nature. The toilets and showers are very clean and well-maintained. The location is also great, being close to both the beaches and town. There is even a big trampoline, which is a nice touch.
This site is highly recommended for both couples and families. Mei is a very friendly and helpful host, and we will surely come back again.

An awesome stay. Beautiful, spacious, and very private — exactly what we were looking for. The setting was calm and relaxing, with plenty of room for the kids to explore and enjoy nature.
The neighbour was incredibly kind and welcoming. Our dogs played together and had plenty of space to run around, and the kids loved walking through the trees and exploring. We were also kindly offered a swim in the pool, which was a lovely gesture.
Directions were clear, and communication with the owner was excellent from start to finish. A truly relaxing and family-friendly stay — we really enjoyed our time here and would happily return.

Well located for access to Port Stephens beaches. Have useful facilities (toilet, shower, covered and powered eating/work areas as well as recycling and garbage bins) which are well maintained and add a bit of comfort particularly when the weather isn't great. And even a kettle which made it easy to get a cuppa going without having to fire up our gas kit.
The place is nice and quiet with trees for shade.
One negative is maybe the sites are on the smaller size when a full complement of sites are occupied.

Nice spot for a short stay or an overnight stopover, but not ideal for a longer visit. The toilets and showers are only cleaned once a day, which isn’t enough given the number of campers and limited facilities. It’s also quite noisy due to being close to the main highway, so not the most relaxing place to stay.
