Being only 2 hours from Sydney and 470 metres off the Pacific Highway, Nth of Newcastle & a 40 drive to Port Stephens, we are set on 25 acres, with lge sites, most drive through (dry weather only) for your convenience.
Hot showers are available ($1 coin for 1 min hot water), toilets and a disability accessible bathroom.
The camp kitchen is large and well equipped with tables, chairs, a lounge area & tv for you to enjoy. The kitchen has cooking facilities, a kettle, toaster, microwave, prepping areas & more making it a comfortable space to prepare and eat meals under cover. Campers have reception to 4G.
We have a turning lane entrance with boom gate security.
When you arrive and set up, you will be able to ramble around our property and enjoy the ambience of the beautiful tree studded campground. Sit back in the afternoon and enjoy nature at its best and then a beautiful warm campfire, perfect!!
Whether you're camping in a tent or vehicle, there's plenty of space to set up. The campsite is grassy and level, and 2WD accessible. There is a dump point for your camping toilet. Generators are permitted from 8am till 5pm (extreme heat on the day consideration).

I have a small private property with grass campsites by a tidal outlet to Port Stephens harbour. We do not offer secluded camp sites away from other people on large acreage.
You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi.
Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Yes there are mozzies because you are near water, so bring repellent.
Pets are welcome but must stay on a leash throughout your stay.
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
Please BYO firewood.
Fires are only permitted when there are no fire restrictions and in the designated fire pit and designated fire pit area for your own fire pit.

Our property is private so we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities most suited to you. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods.
Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety).
The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business.
Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up.
Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns).

We are only 10-15 mins to Nelson Bay centre.
Beaches are just down the road also which includes Birubi Beach which goes all the way to Stockton and many more near by.
Right next door is Murrays Brewery and Sunset in the Vines, very handy to be able to walk next door (a really short walk) and have dinner and a drink.
Shark and Ray Centre is 10 mins drive also and then there is the Butterfly House and Shark and Ray Rescue Centre just behind us on Marsh Road.
Whilst we offer a space on our front area next to the dam, it is only a small area but plenty of room for a large van or RV with room to put out your awning provided you park where we suggest. We supply a fire pit and wood if you would like, please let us know on arrival or before you arrive so we can have it ready, (this in not an extra it is included in the price). We can offer electricity for an extra cost of $10 per night if needed. The main house is at the top of the circular drive way, you will be camping (Approx 50 m from the house). Pictures show this. We endeavour to appreciate your privacy as much as possible.

Peaceful Pond is our 10-acre property in bushland, just 15 minutes from the village of Karuah, NSW.
The pond has an island, reached via a floating bridge. Enjoy the tranquility of listening to the abundant birdlife, or swim in the cool, clear water, among the waterlilies. If you prefer more activity you can paddle a kayak or go for a bush walk. There are pushbikes available to ride through the bush tracks to the river, if you feel energetic. You may see wallabies and kangaroos, goannas, and even echidnas. The dark night skies are ablaze with stars for you to enjoy.
Tim and Vicki will welcome you, point out your site, and give you access to drinking water from their rainwater tank.
We offer several camping sites tucked around the property. All for self-contained campers, with no access to power or running water, so campers must have their own toilet.
Fires are permitted in firepits provided when weather and fire ratings allow. Firewood is provided free of charge.
Pets are welcome, as long as they are on a lead or under close control, to ensure the safety of the wildlife.

For kids; the pool was AMAZING. There is the “Sugar Rush” stand opened at a certain time (maybe school holidays?) obviously One Mile beach is right there with awesome access plus amazing hikes and quad biking ect close by. Facility’s clean and well maintained, pick your time for showers though if you want a HOT shower. Great staff, great park. 4 kids and 2 adults really and truly enjoyed our stay.

A large grassed area with fire pits and water available. We stayed 3 nights and used it as a base to explore the area. Close to Seal Rocks without the crowds.

Check in was good and very informational. The laundry and amenities were clean and very functional. It was really quiet at night which was brilliant. A great spot to pull in just far enough off the highway to not hear it at all. Would be good for families.

Louise was pleasant and prompt in our chats. We were very comfortable on Louise's land and staying at her site worked perfectly for us in our camper van. There was plenty of space between us and other campers. The rain-water-powered flush toilet and warm shower were wonderful, even if the two are housed in an utility shed! :) The kitchen ramada was a nice place to eat dinner.

We almost had the whole place to ourselves, and absolutely loved the privacy. Our host, Hannah, mentioned that if we’d arrived just a few days earlier, it would’ve been packed out, so our timing was luckily spot on!
The facilities were spotless, and the river was fun for rock hopping, fishing and swimming, cold but invigorating! You felt the temperature instantly drop as soon as you’re down by the river, perfect for escaping the midday heat. Our hosts, Hannah and Jessie, were super friendly and made us feel right at home.

Brad is an excellent host, around when you need him and happy to help. We found the amenities to be so clean and comfortable, dont forget your $1 coins for hot showers! The camp kitchen is excellent. Flat drive through sites, very close to the highway, perfect for the overnight stopover. Road noise is a thing here though, so if your looking for absolute peace and quiet, choose something further from the main road.

Such an awesome place, ammenities and kitchen area are great, nice big open area so you don’t feel like you’re camping on top of others, Brad is also a great bloke and was super welcoming and hospitable! We would highly recommend this hipcamp!!

Highly recommended this place! Exceeded our expectations with all the small details such as having a free bbq, kettle, microwave etc. super clean amenities and the flush toilet was a nice bonus! The grounds are immaculate and a good distance to all the sights!

Myalls Away was the perfect place for us to stay over Easter. Only a couple of groups staying here and felt really private and like our own little campsite <3 Michael was super lovely!! and his pup Halo made sure to check on us at dinner time : )

Nice spot for a short stay or an overnight stopover, but not ideal for a longer visit. The toilets and showers are only cleaned once a day, which isn’t enough given the number of campers and limited facilities. It’s also quite noisy due to being close to the main highway, so not the most relaxing place to stay.
