You'll arrive via 2.5km of winding dirt road, suitable for 2wd, subject to potholes after heavy rain. The road may not be suitable for larger vans due to a few tight corners. Camping Rules: Do not light a fire without approval from owners. Approval for a fire is dependent on weather, conditions, and restrictions. Fires must be kept small. No chainsaws or generators. No Pets. No Parties or Extra Guests without approval. Do not drive or park in sign posted areas. Reduce noise after 11pm. Leave the bathroom clean. No littering. This is our second trip to Nos Astra it is perfect getaway for my birthday. I love being off grid and being able to “camp” in comfort and not need to bring everything. Clean comfortable tidy place. Has most things you need, John’s instructions were very detailed and helpful. We drive a Mazda 3 and take the dirt roads with caution but road is accessible. I love the view, the quietness and this year missed out on the star gazing thanks to the overcast clouds.

Such a beautiful campsite. Very spacious and so into the mountains. We had a wonderful relaxing time during our Christmas break. Michelle wasn’t on site but she was on call on our arrival and she was so kind, made us feel so welcomed. And 2 dogs called Stephen & Daisy gave us the company and kept us safe during our stay. It was refreshing and rewarding, it had beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere, and just the right amount of camping spots to feel secluded. A perfect escape into nature. Host was very friendly & we loved Stephen(friendly border Collie) who showed us the path to washroom at nights & escorted us back to our tents:) we loved the dogs!!

Don’t know why there are negative reviews. It was a lovely peaceful place to spend Christmas, away from the crowds of Katoomba and the bigger campsites. Has everything you need and bathrooms were very clean

We were very pleasantly surprised with our stay. A beautiful spot by the river that is very well maintained sites and the amenities were spotless and well located. There is also a kiosk on site that sells ice, food and coffee and it is dog friendly . We spent a really lovely couple of days catching up with a mate and are already planning a return visit Highly recommend for a really good fuss free place to camp

It's a beautiful place and worth the drive. Be sure to pack food that you can cook or put in the fridge or heat. There's 2 patches of road towards the end that are a bit rough but nothing my tiny MG couldn't handle. It's a great place. Lots of other things to do as well like pool, billiard, table tennis. Shared bathroom area is very very close and very convenient. Plenty of water. The help there is a pure gentleman and happy to help off times as well. It was a great trip overall.

Had an absolutely amazing time! It was so beautiful and peaceful, and my family had an absolute ball on the water. Our site had ample shade to sit under during the hot days, the amenities were well kept and clean. Our host was incredibly friendly and such a pleasure. We’ll definitely be back to create more memories!

Nos Astra was a beautiful place to stay! We had a wonderful time and John was super helpful and extremely detailed in the guide/handbook he left us. Lots to do around, swimming, hiking, off-roading and a great way to disconnect. Will be rebooking again!

Weekend Trip to NSW Ski Gardens
I really enjoyed camping at NSW Ski Gardens. Christine made us feel welcomed and responded back and communciated promptly on the Hipcamp app. Beautiful camping spot along the Hawkesbury River. The amenities and showers were really clean. The roads were a bit windy getting there but it would worth the drive. The campsite is also close to a petrol and café which is convenient. Would definitely come back! Thank you Christine 😊
