1 night at Peppertree Pony Camp

What a lovely place to stay, especially with all the horses and chickens. The hosts are amazing! We based ourself here for trips into the Blue Mountains and Train Ride into the city. Highly recommend.

2 nights at C Colo - just beautiful

The area we camped at had a few camp sites but we were the only ones there so it was very peaceful. The campsite we had was secluded from all the others with a wall of greenery and purple flowers and the river to one side. Another boon was the campfire. There was an old milk tank cut in half which elevated the fire and was perfect for cooking over and also radiated some good heat. They also have some wood there for purchase so you never need to worry about running out. The owner is also very friendly and pops in each night to make sure you're all good and to share some cool history of the area. They also have some bangin' brownies. Only one downside for us was the trucks crossing the bridge nearby early in the morning but honestly, it won't stop us from being back, absolutely loved it.

We had an incredible stay at Fig Tree Hill for my 30th birthday with a group of 20 friends, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The campsite is beautifully secluded—tucked away from the other sites by a road and a hill—so we didn’t have to stress about making too much noise. It felt like we had our own private little retreat in nature. Steve, the host, was absolutely lovely. He made us feel so welcome and even brought us warm brownies fresh from the oven, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected treat! We were also able to grab some firewood from him, which kept our big communal fire pit going all night. The river is just across the road and was ideal for a swim or floating around on inflatables—it was a huge hit with everyone. There’s also a small gazebo at the site that provides some shelter, though we brought our own setup as well. All in all, Fig Tree Hill was fantastic—peaceful, scenic, and the perfect spot for a celebration. Would 100% recommend and we’re already talking about coming back!

2 nights at Copperwing

Heather and Matt were the most amazing hosts from start to finish! The property is stunning with so much wild life! They have alpacas, a sheep and x2 horses one of them called Monty who came over for pats and a feed. We woke up one morning to fox cubs playing with each other and climbing up and down a tree. Which is never seen before! Heather was very responsive and we met Matt as we drove in the property, our fridge in the van unfortunately stopped working but Matt and Heather saved the day by lending us an esky and a fridge we we are very greatful for! Thanks for an amazing few days, 25 min from Bathurst and a beautiful part of the country! Couldn't recommend more!

The camp ground was beautiful, river access from site with easy access for a swim or fishing. My dog loved her time there and loved swimming in the river.

Our 4yo loved playing with the dog and discovering the animals around (chickens, sheep). The camping site offers beautiful views on the surrounding mountains by the fire pit. Great facilities as well: newly renovated bathroom with hot showers. Thank you Michelle!

1 night at Good Paddock

Fantastic spot close to lots of interesting tourist spots particularly love the blast furnace. Love the fact that there were only four sites in the paddock which gave us plenty of room and privacy. Thanks for having us. Sally will definitely call in again if we’re coming past that way.

This was a great spot to stop for a few days, really close to everything Lithgow and the surrounds have to offer. A little tricky coming in the entrance with a large van but plenty of room once in the paddock. We love the fact that there are only four sites, so lots of room to spread out.

The whole experience was class, went there with a few of the lads and Steve was extremely accommodating and helpful, had plenty of stories did some great demos for the canoeing and made some unreal tasting brownies which went down a treat round the campfire with a few beers 👌🏼 will definitely be coming back, cheers guys! We stayed for 3 nights and it was just perfect ! We got the camping spot closest to the water. Before we arrived we got clear instructions from Steve so we knew where to go when we arrived, The first night Steve came by and gave us a little welcome gift and brownies for desert (literally the best WARM brownies ), he also brought these every night for us and on my birthday brought me a gift ☺️ Each day we went in the river and also went on the fire trail walk which Steve recommended as we can take our little pup. He also made it so easy and convenient to get wood which he would have all there in case we wanted to buy some Thanks again Steve, we had the best stay ☺️

Welcome! Lovely to see you here. Our property is located in Arcadia, just 45 minutes from Sydney CBD. The campsite is located on the high side of the property that looks over into the valley & has stunning views of the Berowra National Park. There is a multitude of walking, hiking and mountain bike trails. There are also many nearby horse riding trails. The property backs on to Calabash Creek which is like a rain Forrest once you get down to the valley floor. Berowra waters is near by, whereby many fishing, canoeing, boating activities are available, coupled with some great cafes/restaurants. Campfires are allowed as long as there are no restrictions in place and they are supervised. Pets are welcome and can be off leash, however are the responsibility of their human parents. The property has ample room to accommodate larger groups that might want to hold milestone celebrations such as Birthday parties, whereby all sites will be closed to accommodate such events. Recently Calabash Haven hosted a party of 50 people for 50th Bday celebration. Feel free to inquire to see if we can accommodate your needs. Campers must be self contained with their own camping toilet and take all waste with them on departure.

Hartley Vale Garlic Farm

The Hartley Vale Garlic Farm was established in 2018 as an organic garlic farm now owned by James and Michelle and their two children. The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). The building also houses toilet and shower facilities for guests when camping on site. On some evenings, the sky puts on a real show of golden sun rays with pink, purple and blue clouds while swallows flit across the garden beds catching moths. Our guests like to sit around their campfires watching the spectacular show while kids and dogs run around without the burden of leashes or noise of city traffic.

C Colo - just beautiful

Our property contains the first road in and out of Colo - the original road is supported by hand built dry rock walls some of which are over 3 m high. Often referred to as convict built, but more likely built by freemen who were former convicts. The property housed the load master's residence who controlled the cargo boats that docked to collect the valley’s produce. This was then transported back down the Colo River which flows into the Hawkesbury river and leads to Broken Bay following the coastline down to Old Sydney Town. The beach diagonally across the river was landed upon by members of the First Fleet’s exploratory scouting party on the lookout for quality farm land - some of which is still in production today. Our property is on the uppermost reach of freshwater but with tidal influence. This deep water allows swimming and canoeing all year round. Our property is adjacent to the only council built canoe launching facilities on the Colo River.

The paddock is flat and grassy, any type of tent or van can be set up around a campfire. This paddock used to be inhabited by Miners and locals, so you will find bomb shelters, rail tracks and other little historical objects in the ground. There are distant neighbours past the trees. At the top of the mountain there is a breathtaking view of the whole town. This site is close to many gems of the area and there are many 4WD trails. Endless gullies, mountains, forests, cliffs, and caves to explore on the property or on the crown land adjoining. Some are more private than others - Read each description for details. *Please note* access to the property is via Megalong Road - a narrow windy road, the only road in and out of Megalong Valley. Google maps can sometimes show options through Kanimbla Valley - This is not possible. Ensure you come in via Megalong Road.

Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba.

We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.
