1 night at Watton Airstrip

Awesome big backyard. Hosts are friendly and amazing. We had fun camping out at the rapids. The sound of the rapid was relaxing. The photos don't give justice until you finally see the place in person. One of my favorite camp sites. Definitely would like to be back!

I didn’t want to leave a review as I want this place to stay secret it is that good but it is too good not to share. I fell in love with this place it is such a nice campground with lots of space between sites and heaps of space for the dogs to run around. The river was beautiful and the composting toilet is a very nice touch. The whole area was very clean. There are also horses that are very friendly and would come up to the campsite for a scratch, and the alpacas were very cute but one was a bit protective of its mate and not a fan of dogs - which is totally fine you just need to be able to control your dogs to keep away (which you should be doing anyway so they don’t disturb the farm animals). Tammie and Damien were very helpful with directions and even choosing a better site for us and our dogs as we were coming in late from Sydney. Another note - you definitely need 4wd to access the sites I thought it might have been an over exaggeration and we nearly took our awd instead but luckily we took our 4wd Ute instead haha. 10/10 camp ground can’t wait for my next visit 💓

Had a lovely stay here! Beautiful views, lovely river near by for a dip - deer and kangaroos aplenty. Stargazing and sunset was great. Damien recommended a visit to a nearby historical town, Hillend, which we visited the following day and enjoyed very much. Thank you again! Nicola and Dave

3 nights at Riverside Camping, Glamping, Cabins

We had a great time at Turon Gates, the amenities were clean and looked pretty new. Was great having a hot shower! The host was very friendly, our kids had a great time playing with her dog Tango. We saw a lot of wildlife, including a brave fox, like most places it’s a good idea to keep your food somewhere secure over night. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes camping.

My favourite place to come back to. There's just something about waking up to the call of lyrebirds and mooing of the cows. Nice big secluded 4wd sites too. Easy check in and campsite instructions as always.

Damien and Tammie were wonderful hosts! They greeted us as we drove into the property providing instructions on how to enter the campsite. The hill side site has spectacular views of the valley. The perfect spot to watch both sunrise and sunsets. The horse and sheep was a delightful surprise and kept us company through out our stay! We will definitely be back!

Best camping spot I have been to. The hosts are super attentive and quick to respond to messages. The camp sit itself is super clean and on a really nice grass patch right next to the river. It was very peaceful and you have really great privacy especially if you go to “the rapids” site. The horses were a really nice addition and super friendly, they come right up to you to say hi! I recommend getting a loaf of home made bread from Tammie, it was AMAZING! The road leading to the river is pretty rough so a proper 4x4 is a must if you choose to visit.

This is a beautiful property along the river. Definitely a 4wd experience on the way in/out but totally worth it. Camp sites are probably closer to each other than I thought based on other reviews. In saying that, the hosts were extremely friendly & I’m sure if I’d asked if there were other campers close by & could I move to be more secluded, they absolutely would’ve accommodated me where they could - so that one is on me. The sites along the river are pretty flat & the horses/alpacas wandered by regularly. The river was at a level that my dogs could go for a paddle without any worry.

2 nights at Wanderlust Retreat

Camping at Wanderlust was amazing! We went on a weekday, and it was absolutely the best. So peaceful, surrounded by stunning nature and animals. The hosts were super friendly and helpful too. All the facilities were new, clean, and worked perfectly. Definitely recommend!

Watton Airstrip is a great place to camp. We stayed 4 nights at Hogs Heaven and really enjoyed our time. Damo is a great host. Super friendly, helpful and informative. Sadly Tammie wasn’t there when we were so I guess that means we will just have to come back to try her delicious sounding breads 😊 We absolutely loved the horses and alpacas and the river was delightful to cool off in. The camping area is so well maintained and clean and the facilities available in the camp kitchen look fantastic. We highly recommend and will definitely be back

This is a camping site and our stays are like camping all heating is wood hot water is gas and lights are solar, No TV no power points no fancy appliances. If you like camping and staying in something unique Artisans Park is the place for you, If you want a luxurious five star stay we are defiantly not the place our stays are basic and clean. 1949 London Bus, WW2 Army Tower, 1885 Trig Hut Artisans Park is located 45 minutes from Bathurst and is the closest city for food and fuel. We do not have local shops or fuel stations. The London bus is suitable for children as the upper deck houses the bedroom. The lower deck houses the kitchen and bathroom with a front deck complete with barbecue and amazing views. Relax and watch the kangaroos and eagles from your private deck. Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows. The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water. There is a toilet and shower downstairs. The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels. This bus has featured on many TV shows and is often featured in travel magazines, including on Better Homes and Gardens television in 2013 and in many magazines shoots. No pets please. once again no pets including dogs.

They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties.
