Please be advised that we do not permit campers to arrive after hours, you need to arrive prior to 5.30 when the office is open in order to get the site allocation,
1. We are not permitting people to set up in the dark, it is totally black, no lighting in wilderness zone and far too difficult to locate your site, and it disturbs other campers.
2. If you have other campers coming make sure you book on the one booking otherwise you will not be placed together.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
PHONES: Phone reception is good, there is a Telstra exchange on the property.
ROADS: Roads around the sites are unsealed, but most normal cars and the average SUV handle it okay. The road down into the Megalong Valley is tar sealed, very scenic but winding.
ICE: Bring your own ice
WOOD: Timber for fires can be purchased at reception. We are an environmental biodiversity precinct so don’t permit damage to vegetation.
FIRES: Plenty of existing fire spots
SHOPS: The township of Blackheath is 15klm away up on the Gt Western Hwy, none in the Valley
SHADE: Plenty of shady areas
WATER: We are on town water
TOILETS there are 3 men's and 3 women's, plus 8 at reception, plus 3 in pioneer and 3 in corner paddock
SHOWERS: 3 gas hot water showers in men's, 3 in women's, plus 2 in Lodge
NOISE: Shutdown time for music is 10pm - no exceptions! but you can still enjoy the fires - quietly.

SCENIC RAILWAY 25 Klms away at Katoomba and 40 minutes travel time
BIKE and WALKING TRACKS: Plenty of bush tracks, plus walks up at Porters Pass and Blackheath
Dont forget to bring along some bread to feed the horses and donkeys - they love it
You are reminded to allow enough time to arrive for this property.prior to dark, which is 5.0 in winter.
It is difficult to find a wilderness campsite in the dark and disturbs other campers.
We are requiring ALL vehicles to get registered PRIOR to going up to the site, resulting from so many vehicles trespassing at the venue and causing nuisances for other campers
Please indicate the details of cars such as make, model , colour and rego number prior to arrival.
We must also remind campers that this is not a venue for noisy partying as we are a quiet wilderness environmental zone. We do not tolerate it and will remove offenders. Other campers treasure the peace and quiet.

CAMP 3 is a private in the bush area and will cater for five or so rooftops tents, difficult for caravans or large vehicles.
CAMP 4 smaller possibly two tents or rooftops secluded in the bush.
CAMP 5 similar to camp 3 in the bush and completely private great for a get together with friends.
CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

We (Brian and Sally) have been re-vegetating the land and living here sustainably being “Off Grid” for over 45years, surrounded by bush with 3km of Stockyard creek meandering through the valley. HOT and dry summer so the creek is not flowing at present. We would love to share this paradise with those wanting to get away from wifi and the hustle and bustle of city life. (for emergencies we have satellite phone) Children under 4yrs are free. Dogs welcome but kept on a lead during the evening.

ROADS: Roads around the sites are unsealed, but most normal cars and the average SUV handle it okay. The road down into the Megalong Valley is tar sealed, very scenic but winding.

WOOD: Timber for fires can be purchased at reception. We are an environmental biodiversity precinct so don’t permit damage to vegetation.

Our property is the perfect place to camp. Sally and Brian invite you to enjoy camping on their beautiful property, surrounded by Yengo National Park and Crown land. Earthways is 134 ha (330 acre) property near Wollombi. All separate for your individual group- you won't see anyone else. Long weekends we have minimum numbers for the larger sites-we also have plenty of sites for 2 people. 25minutes from Wollombi or Broke. Come and enjoy the noises of the bush and the clear night skies with no close human neighbors. Great for couples, families or larger groups or just come alone to enjoy the bush.
We (Brian and Sally) have been re-vegetating the land and living here sustainably being “Off Grid” for over 45years, surrounded by bush with 3km of Stockyard creek meandering through the valley. HOT and dry summer so the creek is not flowing at present. We would love to share this paradise with those wanting to get away from wifi and the hustle and bustle of city life. (for emergencies we have satellite phone) Children under 4yrs are free. Dogs welcome but kept on a lead during the evening.
No leeches and No ticks in this area. NO close neighbors. Perfect spot to pitch your tent or set up your camper in the valley. Lots of sunshine and lots of shade. Easy dirt road access (6km) Some sites require/recommend 4WD -some 2WD is fine. Check with us before booking if needed.
Come and take advantage of the Wollombi Valley's beautiful scenery and atmosphere. Sit and relax or get adventurous and explore the area. The historic village of Wollombi is only 25 minutes away, and has cafes, shop, museum and the Wollombi Tavern. The popular Broke and Pokolbin wine regions are a short 25-40 minute drive away in the opposite direction. Yengo National Park has some wonderful look out spots-great to drive to Finchley lookout to watch the sun set or check out Aboriginal art sites.
No guarantee but...You may see wombats, kangaroos, echidnas, goanna's, kookaburras, bower birds, lyre birds, superb blue wren, gang gangs, black cockatoos and so many other native birds/creatures.

I had a fantastic stay here. The site was peaceful, clean, and beautifully set in nature. It was a great place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the surroundings. The host was welcoming, friendly and helpful, and everything was easy and well organised. Great facilities, including a swimming pool. Would happily stay again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, enjoyable camping spot with decent facilities.

First time at Jila Campground and definitely not the last. We stayed two nights (Feb 2026) — the grounds were clean, facilities were ample, and the natural bush setting is stunning. The highlight is easy access to the Grose River — absolutely beautiful.
Sites aren’t all perfectly flat, but that’s part of the charm — it’s nature as intended. Choose a spot that suits your setup and plan ahead.
Plenty of firepits. Firewood was $20 per bag from a ute onsite, or you can forage (bring a handsaw/hatchet; chainsaws aren’t allowed).
Flushing toilets — simple but functional. A blessing nonetheless!
Wash-up sink near the main campground (down from the glamping area). We brought our own potable water supply (20L jerry can - lasted 3 days for 3 families); each family brought their supply of drinking water separately.
Kayaks available for a gold coin donation supporting Beyond Blue — get in early or you'll miss out!
Grose River is shallow for the most part, making it extremely kid friendly. There are arrows pointing to entry. Soft sands - some areas have stones as expected.
Central bins provided.
Access road is steep, clay-based and unsealed. 4WD or AWD recommended; plan load carefully if driving FWD or RWD. Check the forecast, plan and have contingencies.
Mobile and Internet - intermittent availability for Telstra and no service for Optus and Vodafone from our experience this weekend.

We had such a beautiful camping experience at this ranch. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was calm, open, and incredibly refreshing. The orchard views, fresh air, and wide green spaces created the perfect environment to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Last but not the least,the kids had the best tym,they enjoyed the tractor ride,feeding the animal and walk to the water fall. It was wonderful.
We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already planning our next visit.
