Our sites are completely isolated from town, with views and not visible from the road. Sites are set among nearly 100 acres of a mix of open land and rainforest. This location is home to several endangered species due to being one of the last isolated pockets of rainforest in the area. Need a break from your travel on the road? Treat yourself! The Nature Lodge is a newly built luxe farm stay with private riverfront access for swimming, kayaking or bass fishing. Offering total peace and seclusion but only a short 3 minute drive from the vibrant village of Uki. The Nature Lodge is a fully equipped two bedroom residence which sleeps 4 guests (2 queen beds), sheets and linen included. Wake up each morning to the sound of the running river and beautiful valley views. At night, soak in our two person outdoor tub whilst counting the stars next to the fire pit. The Nature Lodge has TV, wifi, a nescafe coffee pod machine, fully equipped kitchen and shower with a wide rain head. There is plenty of space to park your camper, come and enjoy a night or two off the road in relaxed luxury. Suitable for a romantic getaway, tranquil solo retreat or for families who enjoy getting back to nature. The campgrounds themselves are located on 27 acres mixed acres lush rainforest, rolling paddocks and river flats, the 1.5 acre campground is a one minute stroll to the banks of the Tweed River providing easy access for kayaking, SUP-ing, bass fishing and swimming or wander the creek bed and keep your eyes peeled for crystals amongst the river stones. Campsites are set in an open, clean paddock with lush soft grass. All sites are within close proximity to a large all-weather shelter perched high on a hill, equipped with solar festoon lighting, a large timber table with chairs and a firepit which all guests are welcome to use, perfect for BBQing under on a drizzly day or enjoying lunch out of the sun. Campfires are welcome and each site is provided with a private firepit for use. You can purchase hardwood for your fire as an add on if you like which will be waiting for you on arrival. Animal lovers welcome. The campgrounds are located on a small hobby farm so you'll enjoy sightings of our highland cows, horses, ponies, free ranging ducks and chickens, donkeys and even our neighbours camels. Turtles are often sighted at the river and if you're lucky you may see the local platypus. You need to be a self-contained camper with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. We have rainwater available at the shared BBQ shelter but this is not potable. Our property is 2WD accessible (paddock base so at your discretion), and can accommodate caravans, campervans, camper trailers. We recommend the Valley View or Hilltop Sites for larger vans or non 4WD vans for ease of access however all sites are accessible for 4WD vans and campers. In wet weather 4WD are recommended as our grounds are a paddock base. This site is prefect for families and travellers who enjoy getting back to nature and soaking in the energy at the base of one of the Three Sisters that bounders Mt Wollumbin. As a starting point for this new venture at Findon Creek we offer 3 sites which are all suitable for larger groups; all situated on grassy open spaces beside the creek. In wet conditions you will need a 4WD to access these sites, though the flats themselves are not boggy. Explore the great outdoors by wandering along our extensive bush tracks and trying your hand at fishing in our farm dam stocked with silver perch. Figtree Farm has an abundance of bird and animal life. Here, tranquillity reigns, save for the occasional serenade of our friendly neighbourhood donkeys and the odd rooster. If you wish to wander further afield, Kyogle is a 30 minute drive away. And there is an all weather tennis court (with lights) nearby at Bundgeam Hall. The cabin and property was established in the early 1980’s and lived in for 37 yrs by famous Australian/Californian surfer and writer “Rusty Miller” and family (Rusty Miller was featured most notably in the iconic surf film from 1972 “Morning of the earth”.) The cabin is located next to the main house of the hinterland property but not attached. Cabin is private and fully self contained with cozy combustion fireplace for winter, A/C unit and/or fan for summer, fridge, 2 burner gas cooktop, basic kitchen equiped with cooking/dining utensils, tea and coffee provided, hot/cold water, kettle, toaster etc. shower, toilet, laundry and bathroom is seperate to cabin but located just metres away in the homes luandry and second bathroom with external entry door from porch patio. bathroom / luandry may be used by myself and other house member however we do also have another private bathroom in main house for our use. private outdoor hot shower out back of cabin in spa/bar grassed area. Under cover parking next to cabin for one vehicle (further vehicles can be parked nearby within 10 metres not undercover.) Behind cabin is a private 4 person hot tub/spa under the stars with spa/bar and bbq area and outdoor campfire all for your exclusive use. hot outdoor shower next to spa. If you care for a short walk down to the creekside tent site then your welcome to enjoy the creek swimming hole n rainforest walk through surrounding areas, this area may also be used by tent campers if they are here. There is a fruit orchid with mostly citris and some tropical fruits which may or may not be ripe depending on time of year which your welcome to pick and enjoy, all this is a few hundred metres walk from the cabin. fresh farm eggs can be supplied free of charge. The cabin is best suited to couples who want to explore byron shire for surfing, horse riding, food and culture or perhaps just site seeing and then have a quiet relaxing private space to come back to after a day out, or would also suit couples with up to 2 children (under 12.) (cabin is only 8x6 metres so not a huge indoor space for 2 kids and 2 adults but loads of space outside to enjoy!) 2 kids under 12 are allowed and pull out single bed mattresses and bedding is provided upon request. families can enjoy a relaxing hobby farm experience n see the horses, collect fresh duck and chicken eggs, possibly spot a koala as we get them often, heaps of possums and other native wildlife passing by to see and hear. Property is located 8mins from the Pacific highway, 10mins from Mullumbimby or 18mins from Byron bay township pubs, restaurants and surfing beaches. Approximately 20mins drive to Brunswick heads surfing beaches or Byron surfing beaches. Board racks for surf boards provided. National parks for hiking or horse riding within 20mins drive. Can accommodate 2 horses in paddocks ($10per horse per night.) and parking space for horse float should you wish to bring your horses and enjoy some trails or beach riding in the area, I can give more information on places to ride on request. The 4 person hot tub/spa out back of cabin is lovely under the stars and moonlight after a big day out exploring the area of Byron shire. Delicious home cooked meals can be provided delivered to the cabin for additional costs please enquire. I enjoy gourmet game meat farm style cooking and Italian cooking, I have a history of working in commercial kitchens as a cook. other activities that can be booked at additional cost include Didgeridoo Making workshops for adults and didgeridoo painting workshops for kids. this is a full day activity for adults and a half day activity for kids doing didgeridoo painting workshops. please enquire for more info and prices.
