Weekend Trip to The Ranch on Clarence

We loved staying in beddy blue at the Ranch. The whole experience was amazing, from turning up and being greeted by Jingles, 4 friendly dogs and a stallion, to staying in beddy blue which was super comfortable, to having a wood fired bath overlooking the river. Everything you need to have a relaxing stay was provided. We also added on a horse ride the following day which was outstanding. Shanti is very accommodating and easy to get along with, and we felt extremely comfortable on the horses she had picked out for us. We have mixed riding experience however the ride was exciting and enjoyable for both of us. We will definitely be back and look forward to doing so.

We booked a weekend at The Ranch for our daughter’s 10th birthday. She is a mad horse rider so was looking for lots of horse riding and time with horses! We had a fabulous weekend, and will definitely make plans to go back! Shanti was a wonderful and welcoming host, so knowledgeable and experienced with her beautiful horses. She catered to our unique needs as riders, matching us with a horse each to suit our experience. The troopy ride was thrilling, riding behind horses galloping in the wild was just the best! Shanti went out of her way to set up Beddy Blue for us and we loved the space, right on the river, fire bath at night, and private! She made us feel very welcome on her land and around her home. Thanks so much Shanti and see you again soon!

We loved camping at the Pasis of Hope. The hosts were very welcoming and the facilities were great and very thought through. You can see a lot of care has gone into designing and keeping the campsite in great condition. It has everything you could want and more. The location is stunning and we had such a great time. Such a beautiful place! Serene and peaceful until the geese and ducks and chooks come for a visit 🥰🥰. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Definitely recommend it. Very safe for families and solo travellers.

We loved our stay at the Ranch. The property is incredible! Anyone who wants a great experience with dogs and horses MUST visit (ensure to do the Safari, seeing the entire herd running together is just something else)! I could not have asked for a better way to celebrate my birthday weekend. Shanti is just the best host. Her horses and dogs are awesome (specially Mr Durango - I hope I am spelling his name correct), he was a delight and super fun to ride! Shanti well exceed our expectations in all aspects. I cannot wait to go back for more adventures and riding. Thank you xx

Overall, it was a lovely experience to stay in a sub-tropical campsite. The scenery was beautiful and facilities were clean and available to use. It was also lovely to meet Brett. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we had to cut our trip short and we had informed Lars but didn't hear back from him. Regardless we had a good stay.

Epic place to camp — even loved it when we had over 100mm of rain! Super close to the shop, which makes it really easy. Camping right on the river was perfect. Nice flat ground with lovely grass. Will definitely be back for sure!

There is a boat ramp just 1km away in the Village next to the Pub with access to fishing, wake boarding, swimming and all your other favorite water sports. You can also explore the historic riverport village which has a number of great cafes and some really beautiful galleries plus old wares stores. We are 40 minutes from Yamba, 1 hours from Coffs Harbour and 10 minutes from Grafton. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times. Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place. Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure.

Wedgetail Eagles hunt overhead. Pretty faced wallabies are endemic and Koalas may sometimes be seen. Our property backs on to the Hogarth Range, where there are numerous orchards. Never Never Park is a Sub-Tropical Rainforest property which borders the ancient Gondwana World Heritage National Park on 2 sides including along Coopernook creek. Located half an hours drive Northeast of Dorrigo and 1 hour West of Coffs Harbour (via Eastern Dorrigo Way) in the beautiful Bellingen Shire, surrounded by various National Parks with 4WD tracks, crystal clear creeks, waterfalls, cascades, swimming holes and picnic areas. The property is 400 acres featuring spring fed mountain streams, cascades and waterfalls that run through its central gorge. It’s over 50m tall, more than 1000 years old, and was around long before Captain Cook reached our shores. The landscape starts in dense Sub-Tropical Rainforest opening up to lush green pastures overlooking the amazing views to the west showcasing hedge-rowed rolling hillsides and 1600m high mountain range towards Marengo. The local fauna is amazing and quite rare, featuring the locals of the Gondwana Rainforests, Koala’s, Wallabies, Paddy Melons, Lyre Birds, Satin Bower Birds, Glossy Black Cockatoo’s, King parrots, Crimson Rosella’s, Wedgetail Eagles, Catbirds, Riflebirds, Fairy wrens, Diamond pythons, Water dragons, Giant Panda snails, Glow Worms, Fire Flys and many more… including our Horses, Cows, Chooks and Bees. Similarly, the flora is very diverse including Native Tall Hardwoods, various types of Palms and tree ferns, Rainforest and flowering Trees, Vines, flowering grasses, Stag Elk horns and other epiphytes, Crows nests, Mosses, Orchids and more. A magical land that time forgot - Tranquil and Peaceful. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. Boulder Bay P3, which has ONLY 4WD access, can flood during a major flood in the Clarence river, however you can park/camp higher up when wet. [Note: Hacketts Haven is our new property, located near Copmanhurst which boasts your own exclusive panoramic view overlooking the Clarence River. The site is approximately 13-14 metres clear/elevated from the river.] Obedient pets permitted and that they are on a lead or under control with livestock or cattle dogs around. The campsites are situated right on the bank of the mighty Clarence River, perfectly suited for campers who enjoy the peace and quiet. Please note: Our sites are available for booking up to 3 months in advance. Our property is inhabited by a few cattle and kangaroos and on occasions a couple of visiting brolgas. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is about 100 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control. Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place. Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase. Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure.
