With over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property is ideal for campers that want their own space. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). There are multiple camp sites on the property - some are close to hot showers and toilets, others are within a short walking distance. Some sites are perfect for our self sufficient campers who might want a nice private location and don't need access to amenities. There are two shared camp kitchen areas (with pizza ovens and bbqs). We have two amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers and two further compost toilets located at other sites. Campfires are permitted in designated areas (check with us when booking) and firewood can be added to your booking - we do require at least 24 hours notice if you want wood. There are lots of old-style games for the kids such as cricket, tennis, playground, bikes available, a swim in the dam and general country running around fun! Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922. We try to make sure all of our guests have a great experience - so if you have any special requests reach out to us and have a chat!

Plenty more for nature lovers here, including bush walking and bird watching. We are located within 15 mins to Pejar dam for local fishing and kayaking (no motors aloud on the dam). Just 10 mins into Goulburn CBD for all the local amenities, including supermarkets and boutique shops and galleries. We also have a variety of local playgrounds and parks to wonder like the wetlands for more nature and wildlife walks. For the kids, we have our newly finished aquatic centre with splash park, and two bmx pump tracks and skate parks. We are located a short 20min drive to "Rambo" the big ram, which is on the list of big things located within Australia. Walk to the top and experience the local sheep industry history as well as shop local produce and giftware. Located a 20min drive west to the beautiful country towns of Crookwell and Taralga, where you can find country pubs, boutique eateries and shops or why not visit Taralga wildlife park for your up close encounter with some animals. Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads at ALL times as this is a working farm and protecting our wildlife is priorty. You MUST bring your own camping toilet and be COMPLETELY 100% self sufficient with everything including drinking water. We have a Leave No Trace policy, so ask that you please take all waste with you as we dont have a bin service. Strictly No Pre Booking tours of campsites allowed, a good description and photos of each campsite is available online. NO DAY VISITORS ALLOWED Campfires permitted when local/state government restrictions aren't in place. PLEASE NOTE at times Wattle Run has the right to enforce their own restrictions. Our property covers over 140 acres, 80 acres cleared and pasture improved and the rest consisting of forest. The Chain O Ponds creek runs through the property and makes for a lovely walk. You can head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Enjoy a picnic in the magnificent Lake Alexandra Reserve or hike up extinct volcanic peak Mount Gibraltar. The closest shops are approximately a 15 minute drive to the Mittagong Town Centre where you will find all the shops, cafes and restaurants for your needs. It is well worth a visit to ‘The Shaggy Cow’ cafe, one of our favourite foodie spots (don’t forget to mention Elouera Vale). While you're here please try the Cool Climate wines. The region’s rich soil and high altitude are ideal for cool-climate wine growing. Visit cellar doors in the hills and valleys around Mittagong, including Centennial Vineyards. Enjoy a pleasant wine tasting experience at Centennial (don’t forget to mention us). The Camel Cottage offers a luxe off-the-grid escape for couples just one hour from Sydney but feels like "miles from anywhere". The Gums Cottage is a fully contained, off-grid modern getaway, surrounded by the magnificent white gum trees that are its namesake. The serene setting and stylish interior of The Gums provides all the essentials for a picturesque and peaceful country escape. Merigan Farm is a 1400 Hectare (3500 acre) working sheep and cattle farm. Our family has lived at Merigan for more than 50 years. It has been a farm since the 1840s and we still run sheep and cattle in a regenerative manner, to this day. It’s a pleasure to be able to share the countryside and farm with guests. We currently offer two accommodation options: Cherry Tree - A cabin with a beautiful farm outlook. With a bookcase full of books and a fire pit for cosy evenings, it's the perfect escape. The Quarters - A private section of the old farmhouse offering rural charm and a perfectly comfortable stay. Merigan is the name of the local Parish and on Ngunawal country. It has been recounted by indigenous locals that Merigan means Dingo. The story being that Merigan fought the Bunyip and in their tussle created the rivers and creeks across the range. It’s a southern Australian Mediterranean environment with distinct seasons – it can reach over 42 degrees and in the winter its been known often to snow. Sometimes in summer the easterly sea breezes reaches over the range and the smell of sea salt cools the hot evening. Merigan offers a range of activities, to relax and settle into rural life. One of the best ways to get the feel of Merigan is just taking a walk around the property. We have 3500 acres of space to meander around and a great spots for picnics, drinks and photographs. Feel free to use the Tennis Court, balls and racquets under one of the verandas at the front of the house and the bocce court at the bottom of the garden. Bungendore, 18km away, is a thriving little country town with Galleries, gift-shops, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops and bars. The Top Pub (The Royal ) is the more casual of the hotels. The Bottom Pub (The Lake George) has a fancy restaurant attached to the more informal pub area. Braidwood is a funky Heritage town about 25km East of Bungendore and well worth a visit. It has outstanding shops and eateries and 2 pubs. The Braidwood Hotel being my favourite. Tarago is 14km away. The Loaded Dog do meals but mainly on weekends (Pizzas during the week). Best to check as it varies. Other local attractions include Lark Hill Winery, Lerida Estate Winery, Turlla Truffles and Bungendore Woodworks.

Completely destroyed by fire the stone walls remained intact and the cottage was completely rebuilt recently to a luxurious country house. The farm itself today occupies 25 acres with stock paddocks, a lake, and gardens and is surrounded by a rolling countryside of sheep and cattle farms with majestic views towards the horizon. The cottage is accessed via a tree-lined driveway from Towrang Road which is fully sealed to the Hume Highway. The current owner has stocked the farm with ‘rescued’ animals which she has nursed back to health, including farm animals and retired racehorses. Her care for the animals has made them friendly to visitors who can interact and care for them during their stay, providing a complete farm life experience for all the family! Children and guests love petting or feeding the sheep, horses, geese, and chickens and doing some daily farm chores during their stay – including collecting the free-range eggs for breakfast locking up the chooks for the evening, and letting them out in the morning. The resident cat is also friendly to children. In season there is plenty of fresh fruit to be picked in the orchard and the dam is stocked with trout. (Fishing rods are supplied – catch your own dinner!) The homestead itself is spacious and equipped with all the conveniences for your stay. Three queen bedrooms cater for up to 6 guests, with a sofa lounge sleeping another two. A fully stocked pantry in the large country kitchen has basic provisions – all you need to bring is the food for your meals. There are lots of places in the garden and the wrap-around verandah to sit and relax plus a gas barbecue and table settings for al fresco meals. Awakened to the sound of bird calls. Experience native fauna – kangaroos and wombats often pass by!

With over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property is ideal for campers that want their own space. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). There are multiple camp sites on the property - some are close to hot showers and toilets, others are within a short walking distance. Some sites are perfect for our self sufficient campers who might want a nice private location and don't need access to amenities. There are two shared camp kitchen areas (with pizza ovens and bbqs). We have two amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers and two further compost toilets located at other sites. Campfires are permitted in designated areas (check with us when booking) and firewood can be added to your booking - we do require at least 24 hours notice if you want wood. There are lots of old-style games for the kids such as cricket, tennis, playground, bikes available, a swim in the dam and general country running around fun! Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922. We try to make sure all of our guests have a great experience - so if you have any special requests reach out to us and have a chat!

We are located a short 20min drive to "Rambo" the big ram, which is on the list of big things located within Australia. Walk to the top and experience the local sheep industry history as well as shop local produce and giftware. Located a 20min drive west to the beautiful country towns of Crookwell and Taralga, where you can find country pubs, boutique eateries and shops or why not visit Taralga wildlife park for your up close encounter with some animals. Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads at ALL times as this is a working farm and protecting our wildlife is priorty. You MUST bring your own camping toilet and be COMPLETELY 100% self sufficient with everything including drinking water. We have a Leave No Trace policy, so ask that you please take all waste with you as we dont have a bin service. It’s a southern Australian Mediterranean environment with distinct seasons – it can reach over 42 degrees and in the winter its been known often to snow. Sometimes in summer the easterly sea breezes reaches over the range and the smell of sea salt cools the hot evening. Merigan offers a range of activities, to relax and settle into rural life. One of the best ways to get the feel of Merigan is just taking a walk around the property. We have 3500 acres of space to meander around and a great spots for picnics, drinks and photographs. Feel free to use the Tennis Court, balls and racquets under one of the verandas at the front of the house and the bocce court at the bottom of the garden. Bungendore, 18km away, is a thriving little country town with Galleries, gift-shops, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops and bars. The Top Pub (The Royal ) is the more casual of the hotels. The Bottom Pub (The Lake George) has a fancy restaurant attached to the more informal pub area. Braidwood is a funky Heritage town about 25km East of Bungendore and well worth a visit. It has outstanding shops and eateries and 2 pubs. The Braidwood Hotel being my favourite. Tarago is 14km away. The Loaded Dog do meals but mainly on weekends (Pizzas during the week). Best to check as it varies. Other local attractions include Lark Hill Winery, Lerida Estate Winery, Turlla Truffles and Bungendore Woodworks.

Towrang Farmstay is located on the 25-acre property “Kiama”, offering your own private and very comfortable homestead cottage. Towrang Farmstay is just 20 minutes from Goulburn and Marulan and far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We offer self-contained accommodation for up to 8 guests in a beautifully appointed homestead with all modern conveniences. The house and the farm are yours during your stay. Families love the complete experience of farm life where the kids can be introduced to friendly farm animals! Towrang Farmstay is popular with regular visitors to Goulburn, Wakefield Park Raceway, and those seeking an authentic country holiday. The homestead at Towrang Farm Stay is an original shearer’s cottage, part of a larger landholding. Completely destroyed by fire the stone walls remained intact and the cottage was completely rebuilt recently to a luxurious country house. The farm itself today occupies 25 acres with stock paddocks, a lake, and gardens and is surrounded by a rolling countryside of sheep and cattle farms with majestic views towards the horizon. The cottage is accessed via a tree-lined driveway from Towrang Road which is fully sealed to the Hume Highway. The current owner has stocked the farm with ‘rescued’ animals which she has nursed back to health, including farm animals and retired racehorses. Her care for the animals has made them friendly to visitors who can interact and care for them during their stay, providing a complete farm life experience for all the family! Children and guests love petting or feeding the sheep, horses, geese, and chickens and doing some daily farm chores during their stay – including collecting the free-range eggs for breakfast locking up the chooks for the evening, and letting them out in the morning. The resident cat is also friendly to children. In season there is plenty of fresh fruit to be picked in the orchard and the dam is stocked with trout. (Fishing rods are supplied – catch your own dinner!) The homestead itself is spacious and equipped with all the conveniences for your stay. Three queen bedrooms cater for up to 6 guests, with a sofa lounge sleeping another two. A fully stocked pantry in the large country kitchen has basic provisions – all you need to bring is the food for your meals. There are lots of places in the garden and the wrap-around verandah to sit and relax plus a gas barbecue and table settings for al fresco meals. Awakened to the sound of bird calls. Experience native fauna – kangaroos and wombats often pass by!

We loved this camp! Although the roads coming in were a bit rough and anyone with a 2wd or low car should be prepared for, the destination was lovely. The facilities were great, clean and tidy, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Do not come here if you don't have a FWD or someone that knows how to FWD. It is an incredible place with very friendly staff and beautiful amenities and a pool, great price for the experience. We brought a Mitsubishi Express van down the very steep and very windy dirt track and she barely made it down and back in one piece, I would not recommend bringing an RV or non-FWD van/bus down here, and especially not a camper trailer. Still absolutely stunning and would recommend to anyone that can handle it.

One of the best campsites we've stayed at. Beautiful location, clean, modern and accessible amenities. Great for our dog, plenty of other dogs around plenty of space too. The fire pits and rubbish bins at every site made things so much easier. Would 100% recommend. Very easy and enjoyable.

It's a beautiful place and worth the drive. Be sure to pack food that you can cook or put in the fridge or heat. There's 2 patches of road towards the end that are a bit rough but nothing my tiny MG couldn't handle. It's a great place. Lots of other things to do as well like pool, billiard, table tennis. Shared bathroom area is very very close and very convenient. Plenty of water. The help there is a pure gentleman and happy to help off times as well. It was a great trip overall.

Lovely hosts. Awesome directions better than any electronic version! Had the place to myself, was a bonus. Hot shower, felt safe even with the thunderstorm. Rixtas camp was a bonus having a BBQ and lighting. Great communication, Karen looked up the traffic jam on the Hume highway too..

This campsite was private and amazing to stay at. The hearth was a treat to cook in, making an amazing beef stew. The gas grill was also convenient for breakfasts. Hot showers with a view of the valley and a flushing toilet made it a comfortable stay for everyone. Fantastic spot to stargaze in, made our annual meteor shower gazing trip a treat, even spotting two earth grazers!
