Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family.
Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, installed watering infrastructure, and built our house, which we finally moved into when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990.
Over the ensuing years, we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity, and food.
If you're lucky, you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season.
With the increased biodiversity, you will find that in the mornings and evenings, kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbi,t and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs.
This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow.
The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space, you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock.
There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower.
Around the dome is a fire pit, drinking water, and a camp kitchen. The fire pit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use.
We also allow your pets to stay on-site; this includes horses.

We have 245 acres with an area of bushland and other lovely areas with scattered trees, plus some open areas.
Currently we have a choice of camping areas for caravans and tents, some nestled in amongst the tree line. Other areas alongside the dam. We keep all the camping areas slashed for safety and to allow easier access to find a suitable camping spot.
We also have a hut available in the bush area. This hut is secluded and has its own outdoor private toilet.
There is no shower, electricity or fresh water available, however we do have a flush toilet at the camping and caravan site. Campers would need to be self-sufficient otherwise.
Please note we don't allow motorbikes, Quads or firearms on the property and there are no exceptions, sorry.
We run sheep on our property and have wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats and echidnas. We also have farm animals such as cows, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, geese, and dogs. We have 8 dams, 3 of which have fish as well as yabbies throughout the year.
Fire pits located in designated areas and only to used during non fire ban periods and to be supervised at all times.
We're happy for you to bring your dog however you would be required to keep it under your control or on a leash and away from the sheep.
No motor bikes, quads, firearms permitted and no exceptions.
No diving off jetty
Supervise children at all times.
Water, dams, firepits, bushwalking and all areas can be dangerous.
Caution, dams may be dangerous, and water is deep.

Merigan Farm is a 1400 Hectare (3500 acre) working sheep and cattle farm. Our family has lived at Merigan for more than 50 years. It has been a farm since the 1840s and we still run sheep and cattle in a regenerative manner, to this day. It’s a pleasure to be able to share the countryside and farm with guests.
We currently offer two accommodation options:
Cherry Tree - A cabin with a beautiful farm outlook. With a bookcase full of books and a fire pit for cosy evenings, it's the perfect escape.
The Quarters - A private section of the old farmhouse offering rural charm and a perfectly comfortable stay.
Merigan is the name of the local Parish and on Ngunawal country. It has been recounted by indigenous locals that Merigan means Dingo. The story being that Merigan fought the Bunyip and in their tussle created the rivers and creeks across the range.
It’s a southern Australian Mediterranean environment with distinct seasons – it can reach over 42 degrees and in the winter its been known often to snow. Sometimes in summer the easterly sea breezes reaches over the range and the smell of sea salt cools the hot evening.
Merigan offers a range of activities, to relax and settle into rural life. One of the best ways to get the feel of Merigan is just taking a walk around the property. We have 3500 acres of space to meander around and a great spots for picnics, drinks and photographs. Feel free to use the Tennis Court, balls and racquets under one of the verandas at the front of the house and the bocce court at the bottom of the garden.
Bungendore, 18km away, is a thriving little country town with Galleries, gift-shops, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops and bars. The Top Pub (The Royal ) is the more casual of the hotels. The Bottom Pub (The Lake George) has a fancy restaurant attached to the more informal pub area.
Braidwood is a funky Heritage town about 25km East of Bungendore and well worth a visit. It has outstanding shops and eateries and 2 pubs. The Braidwood Hotel being my favourite.
Tarago is 14km away. The Loaded Dog do meals but mainly on weekends (Pizzas during the week). Best to check as it varies.
Other local attractions include Lark Hill Winery, Lerida Estate Winery, Turlla Truffles and Bungendore Woodworks.

The Den and surrounding deck is your space you can access from the driveway where there is plenty of parking space. Your pets are welcome. We charge $20 per pet per stay. However the donkeys may chase or hurt them or vice versa so they must be kept out of the paddocks where the donkeys are. We do have a donkey free paddock for dogs right opposite the donkey den. We ask that dogs are not left alone in the donkey den should you leave the property and you have access to a pen to leave your dog in if you cannot take your dog with you.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. The space was clean, quiet and private with a gorgeous vista, and the beautiful ancient tree. I saw kangaroos, ducks and many beautiful birds. It felt very grounding and restorative. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a comfortable nature escape.

Weekend Trip to Maddara.Organic.Farm.and.Art
I had a lovely stay in the Peaceful and Spacious Campervan at Maddara Organic Farm and Art. The setup was relaxing, quiet, and thoughtfully done. The amenities were surprisingly good for being positioned out in the paddock, while still keeping a low-impact footprint on the landscape.
I brought my own firewood this trip, but next time I’d happily purchase it directly from the host. A great little escape and highly recommended.

My partner, our dog and I had an amazing time at Angie’s property. The dome tent and camp site had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. There was a fire place inside the dome tent which was kept things nice and cozy. The kitchenette had everything we needed to cook. And the hot shower was a great bonus. Town was only an 10 min drive away and easy to get to for a pub dinner. Overall this was a beautiful peaceful stay and we will definitely be back again!

I spent a beautiful and peaceful few days at the River Shack. The Shack was super tidy and well organised, right on the banks of the river. I had a family of wombats, amazing birdlife and 2 platypus for company! It was totally serene - a fantastic place to escape and recharge.

1 night at Stary Ponds
This camp was beautiful. Surrounded by trees and under the stars, this is a really perfect spot if you want to get away for a couple nights and get into nature. The camp site is perfect with fire pit, table, toilet, even spare camp chairs, tea and kettle and bbq. If you’re looking to try camping out this is the spot to go. You can turn up and have most everything you need in the bush. If you’re an experienced camper looking for a night or two away, it’s a great little spot not too far from Goulburn (about 10 mins). The drive in itself was even beautiful I spotted a kangaroo, a wombat, possum and a deer!
Mya couldn’t be more friendly, welcoming and helpful, I was sent home with a beautiful pumpkin from her garden :)
The tent itself is great, comfy and clean. I did forget my sleeping bag though, if you visit in winter, extra blankets won’t go astray as it gets chilly. The stay was made even more sweet by Jedi their pup patrolling the perimeter and coming in to say hello throughout the evening. I would absolutely recommend staying here, perfect spot for a little getaway and getting back to nature. I travelled on my own from Sydney and finding Myas spot was a total blessing. I will be returning :) thank you again xx

Weekend Trip to Shepherds Rest
The experience was more satisfying what I expected: a nice host, a super clean shared toilet, a well equipped kitchen, a comfy firepit warming your feet, and a starry night! I saw a meteor in the wonderful moment. Ilama is so adorable! 🥰 Thank Jacqui.

We really loved camping here. The tree is stunning, the view is beautiful and the dome and land around it were amazing. It was a real treat having a proper bed and a hot shower. Kids loved sleeping in their tents under the tree. We will be back. The area is stunning, we really loved it.

Beautiful setting and quiet. The camp kitchen and bathroom facilities were a winner as well as the size of the tent. It fit our family of four perfectly. The only downside for us was the cold overnight. The tent got very chilly inside.
During summer and spring months it would be perfect. Perhaps a little more challenging to stay warm during the colder months. But if you don’t mind cold you’ll be fine!

Beautiful spot and we will be back again I’m sure. My wife and toddler stayed in the dome which was incredibly comfortable and perfect for them. My older kids and I camped out next to the dome. It was perfect for a lazy couple of days as a family, enjoying being out of the city and in a really comfortable environment. Have warm shower available plus a toilet for the kids made things just a bit easier. We brought all our own gear but there was enough cooking gear available that we could have travelled lighter. Love everything about our long weekend at the Dome. The whole family had a wonderful time, relaxing, enjoying the area, time by the fire pit together. The Dome itself is awesome, very comfortable and spacious and the separate bathroom and kitchen area worked brilliantly. Angie was super easy and helpful.
