River Shack
A lovely humble cabin in the solitude of the bush, right on the river, was the perfect setting for a few days of ultimate relaxing. Thank you, Phil.

River Shack
Lovely shack by the river
This is the cutest shack hidden in the bush by the river! We have a lovely stay with our dogs, swimming in the river each day, sitting up the fire and even spotting a platypus each morning! Phil was very lovely and the shack was very accomodating! Highly recommend.

Site 5 - Eastern Ridge
Not camped by the river as expected
The host was completely lovely and friendly and prepared our camp with wood for our fire. We thought the camp Would be by the river, as per the photographs - however it was a 300M walk, which is a lot when we had to keep collecting water. At the end of the trip, I asked where we could put our trash, and the suggestion was to find council bins. This was really rough, as we had a lot of trash as a group of 8, and lots of recycling to get rid of. I would only want to camp here right by the river, as it is a beautiful location, however the waste disposal is a massive issue and a dealbreaker for us as the local transfer station is only open half the week. Also, the campsites are a bit closer to each other than we would like, although the people were friendly. For the cost, the facilities were not matched and would expect to pay less.

Site 3
Great spot, very peaceful and relaxing, looking forward to returning.
Site 1 - Eastern Ridge
Scribbly Gum was reasonably easy to find and only short drive from lovely town of Braidwood where you can get some supplies.
We had some confusion about which site we were meant to be on, ended up with spot down close to the river (pretty big spots and not close to each other). The track to river is marked but theres only one visible spot to get in.
The bush is very pretty, unfortunately where we were camped was all in the dirt and we had 3 days of thunderstorms and rain and everything turned to mud, with a flood through a campsite. Our gear took a bit of a hit.
Would opt for the grassed sites over the dirt.

Gumnut
Lovely spot to camp, gumnut is the furthest from the river but still a really easy walk. The river was SO STUNNING for a swim. We stayed two nights and spent a lot of time in the water - or by the fire.
The pull through campsite was plenty spacious with a nice fire pit. The cloud came over in the late arvo and was a lovely vibe.
Phil is a lovely host and I can’t wait to come back.
