The original name of this property is Wooraba which is an aboriginal word for 'hidden' which describes it very well. Here, you will immerse yourself in the Australian bush and enjoy a truly peaceful retreat. Enjoy fantastic bushwalks amongst the native flora and fauna, or take your mountain bike to the high open hilly area to check out the expansive views. Or lay in some of the creek's rock pools and sunbathe. Whilst we can accept dogs, this absolutely must be discussed with us prior to booking. We are a working farm, with sheep, and it is important that any visiting pets do not hassle our sheep, and are kept on a lead at all times. Pitch your self contained camper or caravan in our secluded garden in Bundanoon. We are only 0.5 acre but there is plenty of space for kids and well behaved dogs. Depending on the size of your set up and rainfall you will either be on grass at the back of our garden with moderate privacy or at the front of the house on gravel - not as much privacy. We have a fire pit, (firewood available) and the garden is child and dog friendly. We hand feed the wild king parrots and our resident blue tongue lizard, named Bluey! Hook up to water and power and you can manually empty cassettes. Wifi is available but can be unreliable. Bundanoon village is only 1.4kms away. The pub is even closer! Moreton National park is only 2.5kms away and we are familiar with the walks there. We will mostly be around if you need us and are more than happy to recommend places to visit and eat. I can also offer wholesome home cooked meals or meal hampers - please message me ahead of time to enquire / arrange. Bundanoon has a small IGA, several restaurants (including a decent Thai and Italian), pharmacy, post office, newsagent, multiple cafes and various shops.

We loved being off the beaten track at Bill’s hipcamp site! The nature is stunning, we saw wedge-tail eagles, king parrots, cockatoos, kangaroos and lots of wombat burrows, unfortunately didn’t get the chance to go spotlighting at night to see a wombat due to the weather being surprisingly cold and windy. Next time we will bring warmer clothes in summer! The waterfall near upper creekside site is stunning, would be great to come after a big downpour. The sheep were very vocal but we loved the sounds! All round a great stay.

Ron's hobby sheep farm is quite large, the camping area was nice and flat, well grassed with easy access, and a westward border of pine trees that provided some shelter from strong westerly winds we experienced over our stay. There is 10A power available and even an EV type 2 charger. A single toilet out house is fed from a rainwater tank with a potable water tap off the rainwater tank. A Genorous size fire ring is present for low fire danger periods. There are multiple dams and some goldfish ponds with recycled solar powered water features. Plenty of open paddocks with sheep and access tracks to walk around the property. With a low number of other guests we had an undisturbed quiet relaxing family weekend.

4 nights at Spring Creek Valley Farm

An amazing place to camp overall. We were greeted by Bill and taken to a site sheltered from the strong winds. We got woken up by sheep as they were passing by in the mornings - they would get super close and were nice little friends to have around. The site was very private and isolated itself. There was some phone reception - just enough to send a quick text message. You get lots of space on this one all to yourself. We had a great time. Thank you Bill & family.

Great campsite! Greeted by host and shown to our site, beautiful panoramic views. Thunderstorm rolled in as we arrived, which added to the excitement. Great creek close by to cool off in on a hot day. Excellent for overnight escape from Canberra. Good solid firewood was provided as well, which kept us going the whole night. Well recommended.

Great spot! This is my second time out here, this time down by the river. The track down to the river is challenging, quite steep, but if you have a capable 4x4 you will be fine. The river and the views were amazing. We had a bit of bad weather which made the track a bit more iffy but in the dry it is straight forward. If you have a standard AWD or basic 4x4 the camping areas up the top of the property are great as well. Stuart is great very friendly and helpful.

Really loved camping next to the dam, lots of shade and a great chorus of frogs to enjoy at sunset. Ron and Karen are very attentive to your needs and very helpful with their local knowledge.

Great little spot for a getaway. Only downside if it gets windy you experience the full brunt of the winds unfortunately we copped 50km+ guests. Damien was very friendly and welcoming and the dogs are absolutely beautiful who come and visit you from time to time!

Stay up high on the mountain for those golden morning and late-afternoon views that never get old. During the day, head down to the river for a refreshing dip and some peaceful time by the water. The track in is perfect for a bit of 4WD fun, adding just enough adventure to make the trip feel earned. It’s the sort of spot that reminds you why you fell in love with the outdoors in the first place — simple, quiet, and unforgettable. We enjoyed this campsite. There were about 5 parties in total that night and there was plenty of space in between. Relatively flat area. To keep in mind - There’s only about one bar of intermittent reception up here if you need to keep in touch with your loved one. Great spot!

Bill is an amazing host, making sure you get to the camping spot, & providing wood to get that awesome campfire going. The campsite is great, you are the only camper there, with a running creek nearby. A morning stroll with a mug of coffee in hand to the creek & sitting amongst rocks was a wonderful experience. I even caught a glimpse of the resident wombat. With a beautiful dawn. I certainly will be returning.

Where to go

Northern Tablelands

North of Goulburn, the verdant Tablelands climb up into the southern Blue Mountains, and there are several national parks within day-trip distance. Swim and camp along the riverside in the Abercrombie River National Park, escape the crowds at backcountry campsites in Nattai National Park, or discover Wombeyan Caves.

Bungonia

East of Goulburn, the soaring canyons, rocky gorges, and dense bushlands of Bungonia National Park provide challenging terrain for explorers. Hike to scenic lookouts, venture into underground caves, or get your adrenaline fix canyoning, rock climbing, or abseiling. Campsites are located in the park and along Shoalhaven Creek.

Canberra Tablelands

A patchwork of lakes, farmlands, and tree-lined valleys stretch southwest of Goulburn, all the way to the Australian capital. Sample cool-climate wines in the Yass Valley, spot birds around George Lake and Bathurst Lake, or enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and camping in the forests of the Tallaganda National Park.

When to go

Goulburn has four seasons, but the weather rarely hits extremes, and outdoor activities are possible year-round with the right clothing. Summer (December through February) can get busy, so book campsites well in advance, especially for the surrounding national parks.

Goulburn has bus and train links to Sydney and Canberra, but having your own transport is recommended for exploring the national parks.
