Canoelands Orchard Camping and Fruit Picking, is located just 1 hour from Sydney's CBD. The property is 81 acres in total with a small shop and cafe onsite. We offer pick your own fruit so are open to the public daily (closed on occasion). Trading hours can be viewed at www.bookingscanoeladns.com. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

Nestled under the Watagan mountains escarpment in the Hunter valley, the property has some amazing views in all directions, but still remains secluded and hidden from view. The property has been selectively cleared to maintain a balance of open land and untouched bushland which has a boundary to the Watagans National Park.
The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts.
The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit!
The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit.
We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter.
This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site.
16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin.
The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife.
There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase.

Beautiful property, nestled in the Colo Valley, next to the pristine Colo River. We have cleared grassy paddocks, some shady areas, and access to the Colo River, one of the most pristine rivers in NSW.
Our river access is normally shallow, well-suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks.
We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space.
Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m.
IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking.

There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred.

CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

La Cascina is a small property on a hill surrounded by trees and bushland. There are two main camping areas which would suite tent and small to medium van/car camping. There is access to neighbouring bushland with nice short walks available in the area. Only 20 minutes by car to Newcastle CBD, 10 minutes by car to Redhead Beach and 5 minutes by car to Lake Macquarie.
La Cascina is a great spot to stop overnight on a road trip or to get away for the weekend to relax. We have no toilets so please bring your own. The access to the property is a steep sealed driveway.
Site 1 is an open site with plenty of shade. The area is flat. More suited to larger camping setups. This site is less private. There is vision of the neighbouring property and an overflow campsite 50 meters away.
Site 2 is a more uneven surface area which is better for smaller vans and tents.
Redhead Beach is the closest dog beach 10 minutes by car.
Croudace Bay is a dog park on the lake which is 5 minutes by car.
This is a family owned acreage that brings the best parts of environmental living with the benefits of being close to the coast and a city. A very long time ago it was the site of a quarry. The nature has returned and we are left with a beautiful forested acreage.

Beautiful location - foggy mornings and horses roaming wild! We even saw two macaws. Good location to explore the local area - 15min to Gosford, 30mins to Terrigal. Site 1 was a little hard to get our caravan level, but easy to navigate, as it was the first site in. Host was lovely to chat to!

We had a great weekend at Wywurri. Stayed in site 1, which after checking them all out we definitely think was the best. Only negative with this site over others, is that all other campers drive past when going in and out, and there is the horse property next door which always had something happening, but this didn't bother us at all, and we loved having the rocky outcrop the kids and dogs could climb, and also provide privacy from other sites.
Noise from the M1 was audible, but it was just a background hum, and certainly didn't bother us at all.
We'd happily return here.
We comfortably fit 2 caravans on the grassed area, and used the dirt space next to the rock to have our seating and campfire.

2nd time we have been here. Absolutely love it. It’s close to where we live so our grandkids are able to visit for the day. Jen the host is great says they are welcome to visit as they are all young and love coming for a few hours of camping. Horses close and it’s very peaceful and clean. Just a relaxing place for a few days.

This was a lovely camp site, reasonably close to Sydney on our travels south.
Easy access only a short distance from the M1 motorway.
Sites were large, views of the property were great, some lovely rock formations, kids would love them for climbing.
Would stop here again if our travels take us this way.

Beautiful river views. Green lush grass for kids and pets to play/run around. John and Toni are in the process of building a sandstone structure on the beach, which I’m sure is going to be great when finished. Clean and cute little toilet/shower available. Great hosts.

Canoelands is a gorgeous place to stay. Camping in an orchard is magical. Jaime and Nathan have set it up so well so it's easy and comfortable and great for beginner campers. We were also treated to fresh eggs as well as fresh fruit and veggies from their farm and our camp meals were utterly delicious. Stay if you can. Super easy to get to too. Beautiful overnight break for us.

We always have a lovely time camping here. Debbie is an extremely proactive and accomodating host - we had a nearby rowdy group during our stay and Debbie stepped in to make sure the noise wasn’t bothering us, and continued to check in throughout the night. The sites are peaceful with lots of space, and the facilities are well maintained. Always happy to return!

It was quite and being able to have a fire, made the camping experience complete. What is camping without a fire. The grounds were tidy, and you could choose your own spot.
Easy to find, a short distance into St Albans.
We took our 16ft Crosstrak and enjoyed the weekend. We will come back.

Myself and my husband loved camping at Debbie's site. We were in site 4 and it was really large, very private and had a great firepit. We saw some lovely sunrises and went for a hike on the Canoelands Ridge Trail which I'd recommend for a challenging but worthwhile day out with great views. We really appreciated Debbie's clear instructions printed for us at the gate, which made arriving in the dark so easy. We can't wait to visit again.
