It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee. Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp. Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers—a dip in the creek will keep you clean but please don’t use soap or detergent. Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east. Campers & Day Trippers Rules: The Park is for everyone to enjoy, so please adhere to a few simple guidelines while enjoying this beautiful park. By using this park you agree to the following rules. All vehicles entering the park must observe 10 Km per hour speed limit. Fires must be extinguished prior to departure. Park users must clean up their area when leaving, by taking all rubbish, including food scraps and disposable nappies with them, so the next users can enjoy the Park as well. Do not burn your rubbish. It must be taken with you! The disposal of nappies in the grass around the waterline, and in fire pits, is a serious risk to human health, the health of the creek, surrounding stock and the ecosystem! Please be respectful of other camper’s space & privacy! Do not set up on top of other campers. Generator use is restricted to 4 hours per day between the hours of 2pm to 6pm. Dogs must be on short leads and confined to your campsite at all times. No music or noise after 10pm, noise level must at all times be at an acceptable level so as not to disturb other users. No antisocial behavior. No camping on creek banks. No playing around toilet block area. No livestock to be kept on the park. No cutting down trees. No person to travel in the load area of vehicles. No motorcycles other than on the formed roads or when moving between your campsite and the road. No stock whips, firearms or weapons of any sort, chainsaws, drones or fireworks allowed in the park. No use of detergents, soaps or shampoos in creek. No washing dishes or clothing in creek. No hitting of Golf balls. No cricket with cricket ball (tennis ball ok). No swings to be tied to trees. Anyone who is non-compliant may be directed by park management to leave the park and if so must leave without delay. Non-compliance will be referred to local Police and you may face legal action for trespassing. Park management reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to and use of the park. The camping area is 2WD accessible but you will have to cross some creeks. You should be ok in the 2WD as the creek crossing has a small incline and decline. We welcome caravans, campervans and camper-trailers/ tents.​ You may see us pass by the camping area from time to time. We are a friendly as 😊 and invite you to have a coffee or beer with us. There's no internet by the creek but you're more than welcome to connect to the wifi at our shack up the hill. No campfires please.

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! We offer a choice of sites- either Lower Sites close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property or Elevated Sites with views of the valley. LOWER SITES have access to facilities- toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. These are the only sites that caravans can access. ELEVATED SITES have stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites. When submitting a booking request, select either a Lower Site or Elevated Site. Please include your vehicle make and model, camping setup (tent/swag/camper trailer), type of toilet and ensuite tent (if requesting an elevated site) and number of occupants (adults, children, dogs). Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather dependant. We offer you a well located and secure camp-site to explore the North Coast or for that overnight stay while you are travelling to your destination and need a safe place to camp. Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly. Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base. The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees. After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property. Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban. We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience. Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking. Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home. Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house. We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking. The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill. In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence. The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future. During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar. The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing. The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive. The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services). We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore. We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs. Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs. We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by. We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. Why not take a walk up the hill or through the big scrub bush walk at Booyong (3 mins drive away.) You can also go for a surf at some of NSW's most iconic surf spots including Lennox Point and The Pass at Byron bay. If you want to escape the crowds, take your surfboard down to Evans Head (40 mins away). While you're here why not enjoy some of the best local artisan shops, cafes and markets including the famous Bangalow Markets. Or just sit, relax and unwind. Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east. Campers & Day Trippers Rules: The Park is for everyone to enjoy, so please adhere to a few simple guidelines while enjoying this beautiful park. By using this park you agree to the following rules. All vehicles entering the park must observe 10 Km per hour speed limit. Fires must be extinguished prior to departure. Park users must clean up their area when leaving, by taking all rubbish, including food scraps and disposable nappies with them, so the next users can enjoy the Park as well. Do not burn your rubbish. It must be taken with you! The disposal of nappies in the grass around the waterline, and in fire pits, is a serious risk to human health, the health of the creek, surrounding stock and the ecosystem! Please be respectful of other camper’s space & privacy! Do not set up on top of other campers. Generator use is restricted to 4 hours per day between the hours of 2pm to 6pm. Dogs must be on short leads and confined to your campsite at all times. No music or noise after 10pm, noise level must at all times be at an acceptable level so as not to disturb other users. Anyone who is non-compliant may be directed by park management to leave the park and if so must leave without delay. Non-compliance will be referred to local Police and you may face legal action for trespassing. Park management reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to and use of the park. Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! We offer a choice of sites- either Lower Sites close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property or Elevated Sites with views of the valley. LOWER SITES have access to facilities- toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. These are the only sites that caravans can access. ELEVATED SITES have stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites. When submitting a booking request, select either a Lower Site or Elevated Site. Please include your vehicle make and model, camping setup (tent/swag/camper trailer), type of toilet and ensuite tent (if requesting an elevated site) and number of occupants (adults, children, dogs). Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather dependant. We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is about 100 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control. Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place. Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase. Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure. Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly. Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base. The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees. After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property. Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban. We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience. Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking. Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home. Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house. We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking. The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill. In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence. The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future. During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar. The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing. The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive. The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services). We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore. We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs. Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs. We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by. We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. This place is a true haven of peace. I can only recommend staying here for one or several nights. Nature and all the sounds that come with it are countless, creating a truly delightful auditory experience. I was so happy to be able to light a fire while watching the sunset gently illuminate the mountains. The shower and toilets at my campsite were very clean. I loved being able to cook my breakfast on the gas stove in the morning. As I didn’t have a camping stove, it was a real pleasure to enjoy a freshly cooked, hot breakfast. I highly recommend going for a swim and enjoying the refreshing coolness of the water if you get the chance. A big THANK YOU. This place is truly rejuvenating. I really needed it.

What an amazing place and vibe! Greg is a very welcoming and helpful host, and his farm is absolutely gorgeous. Each of the tent sites is beautiful and has lots of space. I stayed at the Fig tree campsite, which was pretty and had a swing. The nearby creek is amazing to go for a cool-down dip. The amenities are basic but all you need, it’s exactly as shown in the pictures! Hope to return someday. :)

Highly recommend this wonderful place to relax and unwind. Shayne was very friendly and helpful and recommended a site to set up. It was great to hear all about the farm and his friendly animals. We chose a site overlooking the creek with easy access for the dogs and ourselves to enjoy the water as the weather was very hot. Loved that the camping area is limited to 10 sites and we were lucky the be sharing with only one other couple. There was a little bit of street noise during the day but this did not distract from the sound of the running creek and abundant bird calls. Thank you for sharing Bindarah Fark with us. We will definitely be back soon.

We also offer a series of internal walks & running tracks through the forested parts of the property. In addition, we offer a trained masseur who will massage in his forest studio. We offer arts courses: life drawing, basket making and cyanotyping. We offer night tours to view glow-worms. In August and September fireflies can be seen along our creeklines. We can provide escorted tours of local sights including galleries, natural sights including waterfalls and a local commune.

Christmas Creek Cedar Cabin is a Tiny Home in the Scenic Rim. Positioned on a hill above Christmas Creek to take in the views, were you can watch the sun rise over Little Widgee Mountain and the sun set over the mountains to the west. This fully contained cabin is approximately 30 square metres and features a small veranda out the front facing Little Widgee Mountain and Buchanans Fort. Sit back and relax on the bench seat or table and chairs. A larger veranda out the back faces Christmas Creek and the mountains to the west. Relax on the deck chairs and read a book, or sit at the bar and enjoy a drink while watching the wildlife. There’s a table with chairs to enjoy your breakfast or dinner outside.The loft bedroom has a queen bed. There’s reverse cycle air conditioning to keep you comfortable. The kitchen is self contained with a small microwave/oven, a 60 cm ceramic cooktop, a medium size fridge/freezer, a toaster and kettle. The lounge room has a couch, 40 cm TV with DVD player, small table and chairs. There’s no free to air TV channels available. BYO DVD or there’s a small selection available. No Wi- Fi There’s a small firepit and chairs in the yard to enjoy the sun setting over the mountains and stars at night. The cabin is a few minutes drive to the creek where you can go swimming. Relax on the sun lounge listening to the birds sing and Christmas Creek flowing by, or enjoy a Scenic drive or bushwalk in the local area. Christmas Creek Café is just down the road. Phone reception is available at the cabin if you’re with Telstra. The property is 2WD accessible, but I recommend 4WD in wet weather No pets please.

We are a 40 minute drive from Mebbin National Park, 25 minutes to the town of Nimbin and just over an hour from Byron Bay and plenty of beaches. Enjoy relaxing relaxing around the campfire in our spacious campsites or enjoy a splash or paddle in the small creek. There is drinking water, a hot shower and a compost toilet available for campers. There are a range of campsites available from the edge of the forest down to creek front sites (4WD only) and in the Pecan orchard. Please check by prior email during the wet season for specific access requirements. Campfires are permitted in the fire pit provided, pending there are no fire restrictions. We can supply seasoned firewood at competitive rates. Friendly pets are welcome, we also have dogs on the property.
